I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

@Poster57 @TheBeesKnee @GraySweatpants there's a few of us in the same boat then! The guilt is so strange because I've never particularly enjoyed breastfeeding (other than the convenience of it) and never had a plan to carry on or stop, I was just leaving it all in DD's hands as she's been very clear when she's wanted to drop a feed in the past. But the thought of taking it away from her breaks my heart 💔 I'm just going to leave it for the next 10 weeks or so and see what happens! X

Poster57 · 17/09/2024 20:34

@TheBeesKnee that was exactly how I felt when pregnant with my 2nd. My first was only 13/14 months when I fell pregnant (planned) and I hadn’t realised my milk would reduce either. I was heartbroken for him and thought it was so unfair on him. Needless to say he took the little he was getting throughout and thoroughly enjoyed the newborn milk when it came in 🙈😂 didn’t do him any harm and the benefits from having a sibling far outweighed any reduction in milk but oh my goodness did I feel awful at the time!

@narns i know what you mean! I was hoping DD might stop soon. It’s once and not even every day but to specifically stop her because I’m pregnant I feel a little sad about. I’m trying to phase it out but she’s asking for it more than ever, goodness knows why, maybe it’s different just now even though there’s less of it.

2025mama · 17/09/2024 20:43

Does anyone else feel awful all the time ?

I feel dizzy , nauseous, tired (yet can't sleep) , achy etc

I can only describe it as feeling as if though I am dying lol

blackbadger · 17/09/2024 20:44

Hi all, tentatively joining!
Had a bfp today, period due on Thursday so very early days!
Would be baby number 2 and very excited.

blackbadger · 17/09/2024 20:44

Forgot to say due date is 31st May - so maybe a June baby instead

Poster57 · 17/09/2024 21:14

@2025mama 🙋‍♀️ feeling pretty rough all the time here too! Nausea, upset tummy and major fatigue all hitting hard 😢 a bit dizzy and breathless too - suspect my iron is a bit low causing those 2 though..

2025mama · 17/09/2024 21:28

@Poster57 sorry to hear you are feeling rough too .
I am pretty certain I'm anaemic too as that's pretty standard for me .

But what I do find odd is how unwell I feel with this pregnancy. Have had 3 previous pregnancies and had no issues . Worked throughout etc . Now I can barely get through the day .

Is there anything you find useful for the nausea ?

Poster57 · 17/09/2024 21:43

@2025mama with my first I had bad nausea and with my 2nd I had HG and ended up in hospital a few times. So I went and asked for preemptive medication this time. I’m already taking 2 anti sickness tablets and also B6. Not entirely convinced they help loads but also wouldn’t like to find out how I feel without them 😳🙈

PetBlon90 · 17/09/2024 21:58

Hiya, a potential May 2025 baby here, tested yesterday and came back positive, and due around May 21 ish! Our first baby so equal parts exited and terrified lol :) Currently five days overdue – have been having cramps that feel just like my usual period ones (which are still happening which honestly make me a bit anxious) so assumed I was just late, but had waves of nausea all day yesterday and tested to rule it out and it came back positive! Really excited to find this thread xxx

Good morning all - first time poster here.
Found out 2 wks ago that I’m pregnant with no.3 still can’t quite believe it.
Feeling scared, nervous and excited, but finding it hard not to speak to anyone about it other than my partner so it’s nice to find a space here to talk.
Congrats to you all ❤️

Poster57 · 18/09/2024 10:46

@CrazyIsLife have the scared/nervous/excited feeling with number 3 here too! I think it feels so different to 1 and 2 in a lot of ways

Is anyone else having like an aching/heavy cervix feeling? It’s not exactly painful, just uncomfortable? Almost feels like pressure on it. I honestly don’t remember what I experience in the 4-6 week window last time as I only tracked my symptoms once they arrived bang on 6 weeks!

im taking it as a good sign things are happening though 😂

Yes! Know exactly what you’re talking about. Feels a bit tender on and off. I saw a nurse yesterday about something else and she said all your muscles begin to soften and that can lead to these sorts of feelings

Not sure how common it is but you’re not alone!

Rrain · 18/09/2024 11:36

@Dullblue1234 hi Smile can I join it too? I've tried joining the fb group many times but no luck. Currently 4 weeks and my due date is the 29th of May

MrsKurz · 18/09/2024 12:03

Hi all, thanks for your lovely messages the last few days. I tested this morning at 14dpo and it’s definitely darker, so I’m feeling more confident now.

It definitely feels differently! I still need to ring the gp to get it booked in and just haven't moments of disbelief

Catching up. With my first, I breastfed until after his 2nd birthday. He self-weaned when I was pregnant with my second and my milk changed. I was super grateful that it was led by him. He did ask to feed again after baby number two was here though! Although he quickly changed his mind.

Hey everyone,
I believe I’m 6+2 with my first. Would be due May 13th. I’ve got my first midwife appointment early October and my 12 week scan late October. I’ve booked an early private scan for the end of this month but this morning after going for a wee I had a watery light brown substance on the paper. I had the tiniest bit of implantation bleeding weeks ago and that was light pink. It’s had me very worried today, so I’ve moved my scan to this Sunday. It almost looked like the start of my period. My breast have stopped feeling tender too but I know this is common and can come and go. Has anyone else had something similar? The light brown substance hasn’t shown since this morning but I’m very worried as I’ve not done this before. Took us nearly 2 years to get to this point. I’ve read through some of the pages on here but there’s a lot to catch up on Xx

Ahhh im so sorry, spotting in pregnancy is super normal in most cases, but terrifying. I had a lot of spotting in my first pregnancy until week 8, until they figured (from a swab) I had a mild infection in my cervix. Some antibiotics fixed it.

yhey say to only be worried if bleeding is on par with your period, little wipes here and there is almost certainly nothing to worry about - a lot is happening and I think bits of lining can get dislodged as baby grows. It being brown means it’s older blood too that’s dried

but you can always call the midwife to check I think?

I had a scan around 6w due to the spotting last time and we were able to see baby and a little heartbeat :), so you might be able to on Sunday!
