@Lemonbalm8 and @rcppab Just jumping in to say I wholeheartedly agree.
As someone who works in medical publishing managing the peer review process, I can absolutely confirm there are no hidden agendas, no 'big pharma' conspiracies, nor are there any vaccines that go out having not been trialled, tested and heavily reported on in the U.K. The COVID vaccines were based on a foundation vaccine around for more than ten years, but it's amazing what a sudden global need will do to get funding off the ground for it after all that time. Generally, there are so many rules in place regarding the quality of testing that most will be safe to have during pregnancy despite not always being trialled with pregnant women. Any that aren't, we'd be warned about (e.g. rubella). Not being able to find the (very often paywalled) literature doesn't necessarily mean there isn't any. I'll also be having everything they offer me, though no one has mentioned RSV to me, so I'll look it up!
For anyone concerned, I'd be happy to answer any questions as best I can, but honestly the NHS, and specifically your midwives, are the best sources to consult. No one wants to pump anyone with unknown substances, that would be completely illegal and immoral.
Unfortunately, reactions in some people will happen, though it's rare and also important to find out early on as this will often determine how someone receives future vaccines if they've shown potential allergy to it. There are plans put in place for people like this to enable safe vaccination where possible, and alternative management where necessary.
Important to remember, the first rule in medicine is Do No Harm :).
