@Cheetocat thank you!

How are everyone's little ones coping with the heat?
My little girl is napping much more! Barely getting 1.5h wake time between naps 😟

Sunshineclouds11 · 25/06/2024 13:52

@msp2023 Long as they are confident in sitting in a high chair unaided apart from a cushion support and good head control.

She slept lots yesterday but todays been a right off, I've kept blinds closed to keep cool but she's still pretty sticky

msp2023 · 25/06/2024 15:48

@Sunshineclouds11 thank you lovely!
Awww it's awful to see isn't it :(
Haven't even sat outside or gone for a walk because it's just too hot and there's no breeze 🥲

On the flip side, had lots of time to practice rolling and we've achieved back to front! Yay :)

Mummyto4boys1girl · 26/06/2024 19:33

@CheeseAndCrackersx thanks for new thread 😊

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/06/2024 21:58

@Mummyto4boys1girl you're welcome 😀

How are you? Missed seeing your name on the threads. Xx

I love meeting up with other mams and babies, it makes me feel so understood that we're all going through the same things. It's also adorable to see my son with the other little ones.

I have finally changed my name for anony1111, I was only ever that incase someone saw my pregnancy posts on here before I announced Grin

So my boy is 4 months old and his "father" has finally decided he wants to be involved in his life! He has seen him once a few days after birth for less than an hour! He is a complete stranger to my son and although I am happy to some extent that he will hopefully have a father figure in his life now, I can't help but feel apprehensive and sad that I'm going to have to share him. Does that make me selfish? I don't know but it has come as a complete shock after zero contact!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/06/2024 23:52

Does anyone know much about floor beds?
Are they to be used instead of a cot or after?

OP posts:
LavenderSweetPea · 27/06/2024 06:55

@CheeseAndCrackersx floor beds are used in Montessori circles to teach a child Independence but most child development folks don't recommended until at least 2.5yo - this is the earliest a child can develop impulse control so there's no real way before this to teach them not to get out of bed at night and go wandering which could be dangerous if they start climbing on furniture or over stair gates. Better to go with a cot to start.

@2boysandmee No it doesn't sound selfish. I can imagine I'd probably be 5% wahoo a break and 95% don't take my baby. After all this time I hope if he's actually wanting contact that he's committed to it for the long term. Obviously I don't know any of the background but it seems pretty poor that he wasn't there for much or any of your pregnancy or the first 4 months of your son's life but suddenly be wants back in.

@Mummyto4boys1girl welcome back, we've missed you!

msp2023 · 27/06/2024 08:30

What kind of toys are everyone's little ones enjoying at this stage?
I've not bought many and have the same 4/5 in rotation everyday but wanted to get a few more as she gets older :)

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/06/2024 08:49

Thank you @LavenderSweetPea
I seen a reel on Facebook about a baby unsure of the age sleeping in 1 instead of his cot so was unsure.

OP posts:
CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/06/2024 08:52

Isn't it typical baby sleeps like a dream, only 1 wake up at half 3 but that half 3 wake up makes me wide awake for the rest of the night & I'm only ready to nod back off when he wakes again 🙃🙈

2boysandmee · 27/06/2024 09:39

@LavenderSweetPea thank you! I know, im meeting with him at the weekend to discuss things further. He did come to the scans I had but wasn't at the birth. Like you say I just hope he is committed for ever now. Of course I just want what's best for my boy but I'm just very nervous about it all at the moment :(

@msp2023 my boys favourite is the Lamaze Freddie the firefly at the moment, it makes crinkle noises, squeaks, has a mirror etc so keeps him happy for a good while. Other than that we just have some rattles, a mirror and an O ball for tongue exercise as he had a tongue tie. Of course he has a playmat too

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/06/2024 13:55

Any babies changed eye colour yet?

LavenderSweetPea · 27/06/2024 15:51

@msp2023 my boy likes the rainbow ribbon ring with the bells on it, it's a big hit!

@Sunshineclouds11 not yet, I have blue eyes but DH has brown (but his mum has green eyes so there's non brown genes there). Our baby currently still has blue eyes. But my cousin had a baby in January and she has brown eyes, dad has blue and their baby has had brown eyes for months now

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/06/2024 16:34

@LavenderSweetPea DD is still blue with a green ring round pupil. I'm hoping for brown like me haha.

Hotpolarbear · 28/06/2024 11:21

Little bit of a moan, does anyone else get negative comments from random members of public constantly.
I know I'm incredibly lucky my lb is always happy or sleeping. Very rarely cries.
But what I don't understand is why random people feel the need to come and tell me that he won't sleep tonight if he sleeps now, make the most of the sleeping it doesn't last, wait until you have another that one won't sleep. The list is endless!
He is my 2nd child and the 1st was exactly the same.
Sometimes I just smile and say haha yeh we shall see. Other times I like to inform them that actually he sleeps very well and I do infact have another child who was the same and still loves sleep.

First World problems and all but it's finally really grating on me.

Cheetocat · 28/06/2024 12:04

@msp2023 Gym with hanging toys, crinkly books, small lightweight rattles, anything with flashing lights and teethers like in pic are his favourite right now.

Cheetocat · 28/06/2024 12:06

@Hotpolarbear I get random members of the public asking if my son is hungry, I don't get it, I don't think most people just let their kids go hungry??

2boysandmee · 28/06/2024 12:11

@hotpolarbear I never understand why people feel they can just talk to you when you have a baby, give their unwanted opinions or try touch my baby too!! They don't do it when you have an older child with you do they?! It's so weird!! And I find it quite rude sometimes

2boysandmee · 28/06/2024 12:37

@Hotpolarbear maybe this is the answer GrinGrin

Sunshineclouds11 · 28/06/2024 13:16

@Hotpolarbear I never understand people saying shit like this.

I would just inform them everytime, he's actually my second, first was just as laid back too I'm lucky, smile and walk off.

@2boysandmee 😂😂

Cheetocat · 29/06/2024 22:11

Got chastised in the local shop because my little boy wasn't wearing socks and then the same fossil of a woman started approaching to KISS my son. Where is the logic??

RachLeeds · 30/06/2024 07:04

Hi ladies, hope all is good and you’re all thriving (and surviving/survived the 4 month sleep regression!!) 🫠🤣

Has anybody else’s little cherub started GROWLING? Like full on exorcist possession style… is this Charlie finding his “voice”?? 🙈

LavenderSweetPea · 30/06/2024 07:35

@RachLeeds 😂yes! My little boy a few days ago seems to have found his voice. He'll alternate between this awful shrieking noise and what sounds like an attempt at a roar. He's also figured out how to make fart type noises with his tongue which is keeping him amused 😂😂
