Is there a sun cream for younger than 6 months old?

I have just been using the boots Soltan baby sun cream. It's perfectly safe, they just can't market it for newborn upwards as it would require significant testing.
I would just try a little bit and, like anything else new, see if it causes a reaction. If not you are good to go 😊
I have had absolutely no problems with the boots one and used it religiously with my first also.

undercoverhero74 · 20/06/2024 20:15

Those of you with the older babies.. how do you cope with the rolling?
My little one will be 16 weeks tomorrow and has learnt to roll from back to front. The problem is she can't roll back so tires easily and then ends up face down! This has now caused a whole new level of anxiety come bed time.
What do you guys do and is there anyway you can stop her rolling in the night?

anony1111 · 21/06/2024 07:32

Is anyone's baby still waking for feeding every 3 hours round the clock?!

I am really struggling with the lack of sleep now 😴 not sure how I'm going to function today! 😭

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/06/2024 09:29

I think my little one will sit before he rolls cos he has no interest in rolling tbh. I've had some off him when on my bed cos of the support but on the floor I get half of 1 and that's it. And he detests tummy time so won't even try front to back 🙈

I'm starting to panic he's gonna be delayed cos of seeing others younger doing it

@undercoverhero74 it's a nightmare when they start rolling in bed and can't roll back so feel you!
Nothing you can do other than keep putting her on her back.

@anony1111 3 hours in the day but not nighttime

@CheeseAndCrackersx Some don't even crawl and go straight to walking. Plenty time for is he does roll don't worry

anony1111 · 21/06/2024 10:18

@Sunshineclouds11 my boy used to do longer stretches in the night but for the past 3 weeks it's 3 hours day and night 😴 throw in teething this week and sleep is pretty no existent for me!

I just need some sleep 😴😖 I'm running on empty

Kirstylvsya · 21/06/2024 21:41

My girls 20 weeks tomorrow and not rolling if that gives any reassurance. She does have a wee tooth threw though, can't do it all at once I suppose 🤣

Is there a sun cream for younger than 6 months old?

Mustela do one which is approved for and tested on babies from newborn! Worked well for us :)

Ihatewinding · 22/06/2024 12:32

Nivea baby says from 3 months @CheeseAndCrackersx so should work for our Feb babies ☺️

I'm not keen for him to roll back to front until out of the 4 month regression period, god knows how he will sleep when not swaddled, had stopped for naps and then everything went tits up so back in swaddle for all sleep again 🙈 not done much tummy time in a while, need to get back on it!

newmumabouttown · 22/06/2024 20:07

Just interested, is anyone not bothering with nap schedules and just following bay cues and sleep on demand? I’m debating just ditching all my logging and sleep tracking.

Meeting · 22/06/2024 20:29

@newmumabouttown I've never tracked sleep or done any kind of schedule. She just naps when she's tired through the day, I would say an average of 3 naps a day with one of them being 1-2 hours long

Sunshineclouds11 · 22/06/2024 20:46

My bad about sun cream! I'm going to look into them to buy one, thank you.

@newmumabouttown I follow her cues. I found with my first he settled into his own routine 6 months ish.
Were very hit and missy in regards to naps depending on time she wakes, earliest nap is sometimes 7:30 following a 05:00 wake up 🙃

CheeseAndCrackersx · 22/06/2024 22:06

I currently follow the huckleberry app for naps/bed but I don't think I'm going to keep it for too much longer as his nap times seem pretty similar times now and I sort of know his wake windows are less in the morning than the afternoon.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 23/06/2024 14:06

I may be wrong about him not rolling soon, I had thrashing about in his next 2me from 2:30am trying to do it 🙈 then he settled for a brief half hour about 4 then it began again 🤣

And he's being a little thrasher at nap time today

@CheeseAndCrackersx That's so cute. My little one has been saying ooh ooh and it's so cute he has little conversations with me where he goes ooh ooh agoo between my responses. I also swear he said hi a couple of times yesterday and today but it's surely not on purpose. Can't believe our little babies are so big already and will be starting solids soon.

Meeting · 23/06/2024 20:32

Has anyone planned how they'll be weaning yet? I think I'm going to start with purées but I've heard baby led weaning is really popular.

anony1111 · 23/06/2024 20:49

@Meeting I'm going to be doing baby led weaning, I did it with my first and although very daunting and scary at first I found it so much easier as he would just eat what we were eating

CheeseAndCrackersx · 23/06/2024 21:02

@Cheetocat I know. I can't believe he's 19 weeks old tomorrow, it's flying by.
I love the little babble conversations with him 😄

I don't want to moan already but I ain't looking forward to the heat this week 🙈
I wake up sweating often enough as it is 🥵

Cheetocat · 23/06/2024 23:58

@Meeting I'm going to do blw but I'll also offer a spoon with puree on it for him to put in his mouth, so for example if I'm making him some carrot wedges I'll mash one and put it on a spoon so he can have it both ways. I'm so excited!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/06/2024 09:34

Hi ladies; sorry for the constant posts lately 🙈

You know younger than 6 months you can give cooled boiled water. Does that mean I could use the rapid cool without the formula and it'd be just right for him?

I'm probably worrying and overthinking this mini heatwave way too much but don't want a dehydrated babba

Edited

This is what I'm planning to do too! I'm super excited :)

This sounds silly but how often/much do we start feeding with?

Ie... a few teaspoons once a day for x weeks, then moving up to twice a day for x weeks and then three meals a day? What's the usual recommendation of when to move up to twice a day etc?

I feel clueless and there's so much info out there, it's overwhelming!

Sunshineclouds11 · 24/06/2024 11:12

@CheeseAndCrackersx I can't see why it would be an issue, I normally just leave it to cool though. Could very much be wasting time😂

@msp2023 one or two spoonfuls to start, they say to go off the size of their fist I think? Maybe palm. And also 1 hour after a feed.

With DC1, he went to 2 meals at 8 months and 3 meals at 10 months. It's an exciting time though and I love the faces they pull.

msp2023 · 25/06/2024 09:03

@Sunshineclouds11 thank you :)) I'll go with the winging it method 🤣

Another question - do babies need to be sitting up independently to be considered ready for weaning?

Cheetocat · 25/06/2024 12:22

@msp2023 they just need to be completely steady in the chair that they're going to be weaning in
