@Cheetocat is your son waking in the night too cos of them? Saturday night and lastnight he has woke at 3 (sort of around the time calprofen will wear off I think). Saturday night he wouldn’t resettle at all, I think was awake nearly 2 hours but last night wasn’t that bad cos he didn’t cry or anything, but he did keep lying down then after about 10/15 mins he’d sit back up and he kept doing that for good while.

I didn't want to go into detail because every baby is different and I didn't want to scare you but since you asked - we didn't sleep for a whole month while all four molars were coming in. 😂 He's like a different child now since they finished growing. He's getting canines now and it's barely affecting him at all, he's just dribbling and spitting a lot.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 31/05/2025 15:17

So it took him 4 weeks since those 1st solo steps and there’s no stopping him now. Even getting the tantrums when being picked up cos going off elsewhere 🙈🤣 only been a couple of days walking out & about before that it was all just in the house but so proud he's getting confident outside now too 🥰

where is the time going, ladies?! X

Aww, it's so different parenting a little runner, isn't it? The time goes way too fast! I was talking to someone at the park with her 9 month old the other day and I was thinking my son was JUST that age not long ago but her daughter was a little potato sitting on the ground and mine was climbing the fence shouting woof woof woof 😂.

Different topic here, does anyone else's little one rarely do a solid poo? I asked at his 15m appointment and they said it could be what he eats but we are still dealing with poonamis frequently and I don't know, I just have a gut feeling that it's not normal.

msp2023 · 02/06/2025 18:59

How's everyone managing to brush their toddlers teeth twice a day??
My little one just sucks off all the toothpaste and then bites it. Have tried YouTube songs to help encourage but she just enjoys the screen time whilst chomping the brush 🤣

I've taken to holding her down basically and making sure they get brushed! I don't want to create a negative association with teeth brushing but not sure what else I can do!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 10/06/2025 13:37

Anyone else’s LO’s appetite practically non existent at the min?

He’ll happily eat a snack like a banana or a melty stick etc but after 2/3 spoons or bites of a proper meal he’s done. I think the only thing I’m having more chance with is his weetabix for supper.

he’s so cranky at the min too, everything results in a melt down 🙈

I got my positive test two years ago today, time flies! x I couldn't be happier with my crazy toddler!

Cheetocat · 23/06/2025 12:53

My little boy already has 16 teeth and he's getting his 17th, a two year molar?? I can't believe it, was looking forward to a break from teething. How's everyone else managing teething?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 23/06/2025 13:56

We’re still stuck on 8 teeth 🙈

All but two have come through now, doesn’t seem too bad, just the odd fussiness or cry in the night. Main impact is early morning poos!

LavenderSweetPea · 23/06/2025 16:08

@CheeseAndCrackersx we're also on 8 teeth. I'm dreading the molars coming through though! It's hard enough to brush the 8 at the front @msp2023 I do brush 'em twice a day but he hates it, its a battle. Its easiest when he's lying down - sounds awful but it means when he screams the mouth and teeth are easy to access 😅I feel bad because he hates it so much BUT it's not optional really is it. He won't like having rotten teeth, and I've yet to even find an NHS dentist in our area taking patients to see him so it's extra important I'm consistent with teh brushing. I've tried encouragement, praise, playing music, letting him hold the toothpaste, letting him brush my teeth (which he loves of course) but he still doesn't like it. Some days when he just runs away I put him in the pushchair and do it there so he can't escape :(

Cheetocat · 23/06/2025 16:18

My little boy got so much relief when his molars were finally done growing, like a different child! I put teething gel on a matchstick monkey when he's having a hard time and he loves having a chew and getting some relief, he even says "teetha" when he sees the tube. 🙈

We got our first two word phrases the other day, I am surprised since we're a bilingual family, I was expecting a slight delay in certain language milestones. I am still terrified that he's going to forget how to speak English properly when he goes into full-time education.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/06/2025 20:17

Ladies are there any stick down plates that actually stick? 🤣

Has anyone’s little one had a hair cut yet?

Not yet, I don't think I'll cut it until he stops letting me brush it and tie it up. His hair is straight on top but so curly on the back and sides, I love it so much!

Has anyone’s little one had a hair cut yet?

Yes, back in April he had his first cut at a barbers. I’d been doing myself until then but it was looking too uneven!

@CheeseAndCrackersx congrats! My son was like a different child when he got all of his molars, it was a happy time!

Apparently my son is huge and I didn't know because I don't have other toddlers to compare him to. I've been getting a lot of comments from people thinking he's way older than 17 months. I'm just happy he's growing and healthy.

Sunshineclouds11 · 16/07/2025 13:16

@CheetocatDD is massive 😂 she has such a beer belly on her.
I love a chunky baby, they slim out/level out as they get older.
(granted they aren't actual babies anymore but you know)

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/07/2025 12:11

Hi ladies; more of a personal question than about little man 😊 so we’ve decided if we’re going to have another we’re going to start trying next year, I’d pretty much like to from the start of the year so a month before LO is 2. But since having little man & being back on the mini pill my periods pretty much have not existed, whereas when I was on it before having him I still had a period so was rather easy to track my cycle still, so I’m just wondering how much of a break from the pill shall I give myself to get a grip with my cycle again?

OP posts:
Mismatc · 21/07/2025 12:22

I tend to like to give quite big break but that’s because I’m impatient and would want to be in the best possible position to conceive the moment I decided I wanted to

We’ve been trying since DD17 months was born but I’ve only had my cycles back since January. My cycles are still really long but fingers crossed it happens for us soon. I wanted an 18 month age gap but now I’ll just be happy to be able to have another. We’re started some fertility tests now, fingers crossed we conceive before needing treatment
