@Nocoffeenotalkie
My baby's spine is on the left side. 😀 I hope you feel better in terms of the acidity.. sounds difficult when you say you need to stand up to eat!

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Agreed! I'm still so undecided about whether to just wait for labour to occur or not. I was talking about it with my doctor and she said that we can wait until 38 - 39 weeks and do an internal scan to see if the path is clear, and if labour is possible. If it is, they'll do a membrane sweep and let labour occur. If it doesn't, they'll induce me. If the internal scan shows the path is not very optimal, she will suggest a c section.
I honestly don't think I can handle labour. The first time I had sex, it hurt for like 3 months after and I just couldn't handle it. :/ so I can't imagine a baby popping out.

Major insomnia - slept 9 til 1230 and woke up due to neighbour coming home and having what sounded like a loud argument but seems now to have been a party. Body decided it was too hungry to sleep so am now prowling the house. Maybe my body is prepping for a nighttime birth. Anyone any insomnia tips?

ceruleansky · 09/06/2024 07:56

@Cherubs4
Have you tried a sound machine or something with a low hum? I sleep with a fan on, can't sleep without it because I keep hearing dogs barking, etc. I've also kinda gotten used to my husband snoring since it's a sound with a pattern. IDK if that makes sense, but basically something low frequency and constant perhaps..
Honestly I'm so tired by the end of the day that I look forward to just crashing.

missmoosh · 09/06/2024 08:05

@Cherubs4 ageee with @ceruleansky, I sleep with a diffuser on or fan. I also wear loop earplugs to bed, as DH snores inconsistently and I am such a light sleeper even pre-pregnancy. It’s a massive help and I have much less interrupted sleeps

ExpectantEs · 09/06/2024 20:38

Hey ladies. Here to announce my baby girl was born on 6/6/24 at 8:43pm. After my post a few days ago into the chat, things escalated very quickly & the pre eclampsia/blood pressure led me to be induced on the 5th. After a successful induction, my waters broke and I went into spontaneous labour. Unfortunately my cervix didn’t make much progress and got to 4cm before my baby couldn’t cope with the stress anymore.

I was then rushed into do an emergency c-section and me and baby are both okay!
She weighs a tiny 4.4lbs at 35weeks and didn’t need to spend any time in Special care. Midwives and doctors were surprised as she exceeded all expectations.

She is on preterm formula whilst I wait for my breast milk to come in. Her mouth is tiny so she’s struggling to latch but I’m hopeful it will work out.

Mine and my partners community really rallied around us and did the remainder of my shopping, came and cleaned the house, stocked the fridge. Even though I did no handover my workplace didn’t care and sent me well wishes.

I’m so in love! I can’t believe she’s actually here. I’m someone’s mummy!!

Savvy21 · 09/06/2024 21:47

@ExpectantEs ahh congratulations! You are a mummy!!

Oatmilktea · 10/06/2024 08:39

@ExpectantEs congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!!! Absolutely delighted for you. I’m so glad to hear that she didn’t need any time in special care. It must be a great feeling having family and friends rally round and be so supportive.

I’m having my baby on Friday at 35 weeks and your experience gives me hope that he will get to stay with me and not need special care! Do you mind me asking if you had antenatal steroids before baby girls birth?

Congratulations @ExpectantEs 💗🎊 I’m so glad you’re both doing well. Enjoy the newborn cuddles 🥰

ExpectantEs · 10/06/2024 10:56

Thank you everyone, honestly I love her so much. I keep staring at her in awe, she's so perfect. I'm glad I could spread some good news on this cloudy Monday morning.

@Oatmilktea Good luck for Friday!
I asked the doctor the exact same question before I was induced. He said that at 35 weeks he didn't deem it necessary to have steroids because a lot of babies lungs are developed by that point. However he did say, it's possible that she might need a little assistance with breathing if her lungs weren't fully developed. So we didn't do the steroids & it worked out. Have your doctors suggested that you take the steroids?

I am sure you and baby will be fine whichever way. If you have any other questions let me know, more than happy to answer

AnonymousXXIX · 10/06/2024 11:00

Beautiful birth date @ExpectantEs ! Congratulations.

Oatmilktea · 10/06/2024 11:22

@ExpectantEs that’s great that baby girl has done so well without having steroids! I had my two doses of steroids over the weekend at 34 weeks as they are effective for up to a week apparently. I’m hoping that baby boy won’t need any nicu time but have prepared myself for the possibility. Have they indicated how long you might get kept in for?

How are you feeling after your emergency section?

@Nocoffeenotalkie
sorry to hear about the reflux. Mine is also savage 😞
midwife said I could contact GP for some omeprazole as we suspect the rennies ect are causing chaos in my tummy too. Vicious cycle?!
i haven’t actually contacted GP yet 😂 but thought the info might help you as that’s expensive for you to keep up!! xx
