As requested a new thread for us all! ๐Ÿฅฐ can't believe its thread 7 already!

Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talking all things post partum!

So what's the next milestone for us all to start anticipating after the 20 week scan?

Very fortunately low risk at the moment so apart from the midwife appointments starting to get a bit more frequent soon it's quite alarming that there's nothing else formal on the calendar to be working towards!

Maybe start of third trimester? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

WinsandSam · 09/05/2024 18:35

@PoppingUp i have another scan and consultant appointment at 26 weeks. Not sure why. Think my age and health stuff. Not a bad thing though ๐Ÿ˜ฌ then the diabetes test at some point, can't wait ๐Ÿ˜œ

longingtobe23 · 09/05/2024 18:46

@RosiePH yes they have to be hiding in us somewhere haha. I certainly just look lumpy at the moment not obviously pregnant ha. I want to get away with not telling my students they wrap up in June so sometimes clever dressing coming up ๐Ÿ˜…

Things to look forward to ...umm I have a GTT at 25 weeks, midwife the next day.
Scan at 32 weeks but tumbleweeds until then!
I have a 100 day countdown in my phone then a 50 day one ... It was fun working it out ๐Ÿ˜Š

PoppingUp · 09/05/2024 18:57

@WinsandSam oh actually I have the diabetes test too, I'd forgotten about that one!

My midwife was quite apologetic signing me up for it as my BMI just nudged 30 when they weighed me at booking, which was at least partly first trimester bloating (that and conceiving in the middle of winter when I'd not left the electric blanket nest on the sofa in months ๐Ÿ˜…) Better safe than sorry but it does look like a proper pain having to hang about at the hospital for such a long time!

Lillers · 09/05/2024 19:53

@longingtobe23 All my students know already - I just canโ€™t hide it! My Y10s have asked me to do a gender reveal in their lesson on Monday ๐Ÿ˜‚

WinsandSam · 09/05/2024 20:37

@PoppingUp yes I'm not excited about it at all!! Hopefully all smooth sailing. Although I haven't been given a date for it

malimoon · 09/05/2024 20:39

@WinsandSam @PoppingUp I have mine at the end of June. they do it at my gp surgery (which is also where I see my midwife) but not desperately excited to sit around there for three hours! They were like, bring something to do or you will be VERY BORED hahaha

WinsandSam · 09/05/2024 20:41

@malimoon maybe I'll chase them up then as I haven't been given a date. Only for another scan and consultant appointment

Xur · 09/05/2024 21:48

Has anyone already started a hypnobirthing or any other pregnancy related course?

I started the Katherine Graves one, today was my second evening of going through episodes. Itโ€™s a delightful course so far.

rupertbear91 · 09/05/2024 21:50

Anyone else get pain right across the front of their bikini line area? I feel like my bump has finally come out and I have PGP in my hips pretty bad but now if I cough or even bend down to pick something up I get this horrid achy pain ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ at my scan on Sunday he was sitting with his head very low in that kind of area which maybe isn't helping!

Bump pick because I now feel massive and not sure how there is another 19 weeks of growing left in there!

WinsandSam · 09/05/2024 22:09

@rupertbear91 our bumps are probably a similar size!
I do get pain lower down, not every day though. Sometimes if I sneeze, or if sitting for a while and get up. Doesn't last long though. Sometimes I think mine is trapped wind too ๐Ÿ˜… hard to tell what is what nowadays.

I do often feel stretching pains and what feels like gravity pulling my stomach down. Almost like tugging with ropes from the inside. Hard to explain

Happylittlebump · 09/05/2024 22:15

@Xur I have the Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing book which I plan to read through soon. I have been often listening to the Hypnobirthing podcast by Claire. I highly recommend it, Claire has a calming voice, there are lots of different discussions so much I have learnt from the episodes. I will definitely be following the Hypnobirthing methods.

I usually get the train home from work - literally 10 minute journey. The last 2 days theyโ€™ve been cancelled and Iโ€™ve had to get the bus, which means walking 20 minutes to the bus stop and then 20 minutes from the bus to my house at the other end (whereas both work and home and right by the train stations).

Bus was packed today and was actually a while until I got a seat (despite my bump and baby on board badge - it was just too packed to even get near someone who was sitting in order for them to see that I needed to sit down). Then got stuck in traffic. I eventually got home 2 hours and 40 minutes after I left work ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

As a result my back has been killing me this evening. Itโ€™s been a bit painful generally but tonightโ€™s been awful - the worst bit is the sides of my ribs are aching really badly. My husband had a go at massaging my ribs but neither of us really knew how to make them feel better. Oh well, time to try to sleep now - hopefully so good olโ€™ side sleeping will fix it ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿฅด

SpicyMoth · 09/05/2024 22:41

I get the same @rupertbear91 you're not alone!!

So yesterday for about an hour I had really quite uncomfortable pain either side of my tummy and wrapping around my back and got super hot & sweaty, it felt a lot like period pains but also different, only way I could lessen the discomfort was being on hands and knees on the floor - Took some paracetamol, discomfort/pain lasted for about an hour or so before it started to wear off.

Today I've had the same at around the same time of day but for only about 30 minutes roughly this time rather than an hour.

I can still feel baby wriggling around so I think everything is hopefully fine, but as it's my first I obviously don't know!
If it happens again tomorrow I will call midwife and ask about it but as it wasn't massively painful I don't want to make a big fuss over possibly nothing - but I'm just posting here to ask if anyone else has had similar either with previous pregnancies or now?
This is my first, so totally in at the deep end here!
My mum reckons it could be Braxton Hicks but after some googling I think I might be a bit too early on still in my pregnancy for it to be that?? (23 weeks, 24 next week)

Honeyandsunshine1 · 09/05/2024 22:42

Iโ€™m 24 weeks on Sunday and just wondering, is anyone else this far ahead and not experiencing a super โ€œactiveโ€ baby? I have to lie on my side for a while to get even just a small reassurance. I have a posterior placenta, too ๐Ÿซฃ

Honeyandsunshine1 · 09/05/2024 22:44

Iโ€™ve also got the worst cold ever, with a really chesty cough. Iโ€™ve been horizontal for the best part of today and genuinely feel like Iโ€™m at deaths door ๐Ÿ˜ฉ anyone else had a cold 6 months in? I canโ€™t help but worry, again, that Iโ€™m somehow doing the baby an injustice by managing to feel so ill ๐Ÿค’

Emmaev · 09/05/2024 23:05

Loving all the bump pics! Little babes are sure making themselves known now!
Im 23+3 now, Iโ€™ve got a consultant appointment next week and the midwife the week after for 25 week appointment. Then scans every 4 weeks, midwife every 2 weeks. So feels like itโ€™s all ramping up a gear! Iโ€™ll just be happy to get past 34 weeks.

Been getting loads of aches and pains and over analysing everything. Baby girl is super active though which is reassuring.

Bump is gigantic. Definitely all water like DD as baby girl can only be a pound at this point

Xur · 10/05/2024 05:34

The only pains I get these days are if I get up weird from the car I would be getting a lower back pain on one of the sides, but for me it is achievable if I sit too long in a lotus, way before pregnancy. So I attribute that to weird backbone position and getting out of the car with applying pressure to one leg in an odd way. My pains stopped after I began going to the gym, I donโ€™t have the pain under belly button anymore, I used to have it ever so often, but now itโ€™s gone. Now I would be getting a random ache if I turn too quick on the bed but thatโ€™s all. I have been doing pelvic floor exercises and various squats and leg presses at the gym. I do think that that helped, as the pain subsided right after I restarted the gym after 15 weeks.

@SpicyMoth If I am completely honest from your description it does sound like something I am anticipating to have later on, Braxton hicks can start as early as 20 weeks. Some people are more prone to it than others. Catherine Graves explained these feel like tightening rather than stabbing pains. Would you say itโ€™s more of one or the either?

Xur · 10/05/2024 05:39

The most hilarious thing just happened. My partner was laying with face on my belly talking to the baby (seemingly to wake him up) and the baby kicked the belly right where his face was ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Lillers · 10/05/2024 05:39

Scan day! Been awake since my cat starting singing at 4am ๐Ÿ™„. Baby was super active for a while as well, and DH (who was also woken by the cat) felt some proper kicks this time.

Canโ€™t believe I have to do a morning of work first - roll on 1.30pm!

Xur · 10/05/2024 05:45

@Lillers good luck with the scan!!

mrsbgb · 10/05/2024 06:25

Good luck today @Lillers!

22 weeks today and to add to the aches and pains club Iโ€™ve started getting sciatic pain. Thank goodness it tends to only kick in in the evening but not excited to deal with this for the next four months!

rupertbear91 · 10/05/2024 06:56

@Honeyandsunshine1 moment mega active either. I feel him during the day usually after I have eaten but it's only for a few minutes each time then nothing also posteria placenta

In the same position with the cold too. Had a stinking cold since last weekend sore throat way too much snot and it just won't shift. I thought the hot weather was meant to get rid of bugs!

rupertbear91 · 10/05/2024 06:57

Sorry that's meant to say I'm not feeling mega movement either ๐Ÿ˜‚ hard to type whilst blowing your nose ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

MrsM89 · 10/05/2024 06:59

22week bump update here, think I'm going to be huge by the end again, downside of being only 4ft11 I guess
