Anyone suffering with nausea and feeling faint?

I was out with my daughter, sister and nephew and had to come home early because I thought I was going to pass out. Had visions of going in the middle of soft play. Checked my bp and itโ€™s totally normal. Baby girl is still seriously active too. Not sure if itโ€™s the heat. Still feel a bit out of it

HRP1990 · 09/06/2024 16:42

SpicyMoth · 09/06/2024 16:38

@HRP1990 YES! Especially when I yawn, it just feels like there's not enough room in there for all my internals!

And itโ€™s only going to get more cramped ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅฒ
Another description.. like when you eat and it goes down real slow.. feels like that too lol. Iโ€™m in the car on a long journey home and itโ€™s all I can focus on!

PoppingUp · 09/06/2024 16:46

@HRP1990 yep, I've been stressing myself with my shortness of breath over the last day or two trying to work out if it's normal or not. Glad to hear I'm not alone!

Liv6583 · 09/06/2024 20:17

@Liv6583 looks faint positive to me ๐Ÿคž

MudandMoet · 09/06/2024 20:47

@Liv6583 I see a faint line too. Congratulations ๐Ÿฅณ

I have moments of breathlessness too, it actually scares me a little and makes me really feel for asthma and COPD sufferers. Even if I'm chatting to people, if I get carried away my breathing becomes a bit laboured. I'm assuming it's just because baby is squishing my lungs and things. Also in a morning I feel faint at times and have to sit because I'm so scared of fainting but rarely in an afternoon. BP is fine. I'm seeing consultant and MW this week so going to mention it.

Lillers · 09/06/2024 21:12

Iโ€™ve definitely been getting the breathlessness too - I have to talk a lot at work and sometimes itโ€™s a real challenge!

WinsandSam · 09/06/2024 21:28

Like others I do struggle with breathlessness. Must say it's better now than first trimester. It seemed to trigger my asthma and it was pretty scary.
Now it only seems to be on hills/stairs or if I bend down luckily.

Gasto stuff is worse, I feel so squashed like my food is on my chest. Especially in bed at night. So trying to have a bigger lunch and smaller dinner to stop it

Honeyandsunshine1 · 09/06/2024 22:09

longingtobe23 · 08/06/2024 09:09

@Honeyandsunshine1 oh bless your soul
mine is consistently shit on first reading at the hospital and appointments and they want to keep and โ€œeye on meโ€ great ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜‚
that was outcome of 25 week appointment yesterday but I got a new midwife she seems soooo good Iโ€™m so happy. And she was a so so helpful - really a weight off.
she told me to get a machine for at home but I said maybe toward the end I donโ€™t want to become obsessed.

i have only a compact stroller, base, car seat adapters and Tripp trapp to order (want to find on FB though second hand)
OH and the whole furniture set for the bedroom ๐Ÿ˜‚

but technically if she came end of July (please donโ€™t baby!) I will be ready once car seat gets here ! The rest is fluff and what I want to have before the dreaded maternity pay ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿซฃ

Yeah! The moment they put the cuff on, I feel instantly panicked and very not relaxed ๐Ÿคฃ glad to hear about your new midwife! Their aura makes such a difference doesnโ€™t it?

also, a question about the tripp trapp, Iโ€™ve seen these around before but never in person. Do they fold down so you can store them away or do they stay as they are? We have a tiiinnnyyy flat so trying to source a decent high chair that can be put in a cupboard when not being used ๐Ÿฅฒ

Honeyandsunshine1 · 09/06/2024 22:13

cd24x · 08/06/2024 10:16

@Honeyandsunshine1 hope you're ok, that must have been such a scare! Hope you manage to chill for the rest of the day.

@longingtobe23 I had the same yesterday at my appt. BP was bordering on high. Midwife wasn't happy. Well turns out they'd used the wrong size cuff on my arm which is notorious for giving high readings. She re-did it with the larger cuff at end of my appt and it was perfectly normal ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Yeah Iโ€™ve recovered from the scare now lol. Interesting about your experience with the cuff sizes! Do you reckon it gives a higher reading if the cuff is attached really tight, too? Or am I just looking into it too much? Because I swear when mine gets fastened TIGHT, I have a higher reading

Honeyandsunshine1 · 09/06/2024 22:22

Emmaev · 08/06/2024 13:54

@Honeyandsunshine1 so glad everything is ok. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, stupidly I took my bp at work and it was raised (due to running around im guessing) it was about 140/90 more than it has been the past few times. And it sent me into such a spin, I had a full blown meltdown at work. Absolutely hysterical. Due to having pre eclampsia before Iโ€™m kinda reserved in my head that Iโ€™ll get it again. But I was panicking how can I get it at 24 weeks, then imagining having a baby so small.

Thankfully everything was fine, when I got tested my bp was actually lower than a few other times and Iโ€™d worked myself up for nothing. I swore then that I wouldnโ€™t do my bp at work anymore. Partner did buy a bp machine from argos which has calmed me a lot in recent weeks and bp has been totally fine so far.

Wow, it sounds so identical to what I had on Friday night!
My first reading was 147/85, And I was like โ€œoh crapโ€ so waited 10 minutes to take another, and when I did it was 151/85 so like you, my mind was going all places. When I went to hospital, it was 110/75. I was like huh? The machine I used at home has now been yeeted into the bin. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Are you taking aspirin this pregnancy then due to your previous PE? Iโ€™m also on edge about getting it again, however with my second baby I didnโ€™t get it all so Iโ€™m hoping aspirin and walking is the magic formula ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

LSW82 · 09/06/2024 22:36

My son was 8lb 2 & got decent use out of his newborn/ upto 1 month stuff as far as I can remember! It's amazing how quickly you forget though!!

longingtobe23 · 09/06/2024 22:49

@Honeyandsunshine1 theyre pretty large/ lumpy sturdy things sadly! They donโ€™t fold down, we have a bay window I can get away with tucking it into but otherwise Iโ€™d fear tripping over the legs
we had the ikea one for grandparents houses and omg we all used to go flying over those legs they stick our so far ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Emmaev · 09/06/2024 22:58

@Honeyandsunshine1 yeah Iโ€™m on 150mg since 12 weeks. Hopefully it helps things out. Time will tell! Growth scan on Tuesday so hopefully gives an indication into how sheโ€™s growing

Xur · 10/06/2024 05:02

On the breathlessness I feel I can sometimes talk myself out of breath and when performing physical activities I sometimes feel like I need to stop and rest for a second. Like now on honeymoon we have been going for walks by the sea and walking in water-sand /pebbles can be quite tiresome.

happy news is, Iโ€™ve spent several days in heat (33+ degrees) and I am not swelling so far.

@Lillers about the sitting- wellโ€ฆif you sit in lotus for extended periods you risk getting hip/lower back pain.
I for example find it really uncomfortable sitting on my legs (Japanese way) these days.
any rigid sitting for longer periods is asking for lower back pain.
If you intend to attend I would explore options for putting a travel pillow under your bum. (The one that normally goes over our necks).
For reference I sat on a plane for 4 hours and had middle back pain from it.

cd24x · 10/06/2024 11:02

@Honeyandsunshine1 i think them using the smaller cuff size and attaching too tight is the issue. midwife last week has now scribbled "LARGE CUFF" on practically every page of my notes now and highlighted it. It's usually the maternity care assistants that test urine and do BP before the actual midwife appt where I am, so I assume they just forget that some ladies need the larger cuff when doing it on repeat.

@Lillers thanks for the IKEA discount intel. We managed to get online yesterday to order 2 tall/thin chest of drawers for our bedroom as we've had to have a full rearrange to fit in the next to me cot (we've moved since having DS). Once they arrive tomorrow, I can finally get started on unpacking all the baby boxes in the loft and re-washing everything!

It looks like DS has come down with chicken pox. Luckily I've already had it, so shouldn't be any implications for me and baby. Just means a week of juggling childcare with work, and being stuck inside all week. I guess better to get it now than when we have a newborn in the house!

longingtobe23 · 10/06/2024 14:11

100 day countdown over here for September 18th - if I get my way with the section that mean Iโ€™ve got less until sheโ€™s here ๐Ÿฅณ

anyone else excited we are so much closer! Still seems far in my head ๐Ÿ˜…

Decaffe · 10/06/2024 14:33

@rupertbear91 how did the scan go this morning? I hope all is well.

@longingtobe23 I am on double figures today, 99 days until the section! I have a countdown app, and 99 days ago today we went to the clinic for a scan and a private NIPT. That honestly feels like forever ago, so I donโ€™t feel as though time is rushing quickly at all.

Good news here I have finally found a beside crib that will fit the very narrow space we have available - itโ€™s called the SnuzPod Studio if anyone is in a similar position. Unfortunately it was only recently launched so itโ€™s too new for any to be cheap on FBMP!

Is anyone doing anything for Fatherโ€™s Day? DH, quite unexpectedly, got me some gorgeous gifts and a card from the bump on Motherโ€™s Day. Iโ€™ve got him a card from โ€˜the bun in the oven,โ€™ (which is how I told him the news, put a hot cross bun in the oven when he got home from work and waited for the penny to drop!), a โ€˜manual for dads,โ€™ a novel I know heโ€™ll like, and then I found a tiny 0-3mo sports top on Vinted, which matches one he has already. ๐Ÿ˜Š

25w4d today, I am feeling baby more regularly now, just wish DH was able to feel him too!

rupertbear91 · 10/06/2024 15:06

@Decaffe thanks for asking I'm not long back from the hospital. I have to say after my 12 hour day in on Saturday of waiting and not getting anywhere they were fantastic today. I had 2 consultants and an advanced practitioner with me for 4 hours of scan and tests to evaluate my case. Although the waiting room was very full after I left because of it!

The ultrasound of my legs were clear and my ecg was back to normal they ran a load of other tests too and decided that either the heparin is clearing the clot or I had a temporary blockage and the risk of the full CT scan to the baby is higher than the risk of not doing it now so it's just close monitoring from the consultant every few days for the next week now In case anything changes. So hopefully things will settle down now.

They did say it's likely the fainting and passing out isn't clot related anyway and a separate issue thanks to pregnancy and just to be careful going places on my own as if I feel myself go I need to lie down on my left side till I recover ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

HRP1990 · 10/06/2024 17:18

Glad to hear it @rupertbear91! I hope things settle down for you now ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

HRP1990 · 10/06/2024 17:20

Has anyone bought a nice cot mobile they can share? I was looking on Etsy now weโ€™re starting to decorate.. and I can appreciate a handmade item, but wow - some are ยฃ160 plus ๐Ÿฅต I could buy alot of nappies for that!!

Lillers · 10/06/2024 18:02

@Decaffe Iโ€™ve got DH a card which says thank you to Dad for taking care of Mum, from the Bump. I want to get him a present, but I think I might take him for a steak instead because thatโ€™s something heโ€™s missed out on while Iโ€™ve been pregnant because we havenโ€™t bothered while I canโ€™t have them the way I like them!

longingtobe23 · 10/06/2024 20:30

@Decaffe we went for the studio for space! (Note it still has sticky out wheels!) haha but it does fit in. I love the mama and papas Lua one but it was NOT going to fit,
I also got a Snuzbaskit for downstairs!

The studio I managed 15% off one bank holiday from naturally baby, pretty sure it was ยฃ129 or something but yes best I could find it! But hope it will sell nicely as itโ€™s a newer product ๐Ÿฅณ
Attached a snap- I we had it up to check it fit in as we also went for a new bed! But now itโ€™s there I wonโ€™t take it done haha โ€ฆ the Undone jeans ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜‚

@rupertbear91 pleased the ultrasound was clear. Hopefully you can settle a bit now xx

We're at the Cotwolds from Friday for a long weekend but I've got some large toblerone and little bits for DH for Father's Day on Sunday. It's his birthday next week so not gone mad.
