Hi everyone!

Thought I'd join in too! Found out on the 14th May that I'm expecting baby number 2! I have an 18 month old boy.

I tested 3 days before my period was due and got a very strong positive right away. I'm reading lots of stuff that say twins can cause a strong early positive result 🙈😅 Hoping that's not the case as 3 under 3 would be a handful! 😂

Congrats to all the new people.

5 weeks today. Time is absolutely dragging. I just want to get past 7 weeks as that's when my MC was.

My boobs are growing SO much! I really need to buy new bras but I'm worried I'll buy new ones then grow out of them too😂

Anyone here into running/exercise? I've absolutely fallen off a cliff in terms of what I can do. My heart rate shoots up so high and I feel like I'm moving through treacle. Can't believe this is impacting me so much so early. But weirdly feel fine when not exercising...

Edited

I am into exercise and completely agree! I am just doing slow walks on the treadmill to get my mental health worth of exercise and just going to enjoy it for what it is.

When I do get dizzy, I just slow down or call it a day. I'm just over 5 weeks and am doing between 20-40 min walks.

Hope that helps!

I had the strangest thing today almost like palpitations/raising heart. Felt like I had drank 4 cups of coffee in one go. I was working as an exam invigilator this morning so at least was sat down and not doing anything strenuous. But checked my heart rate on my Apple Watch and kept going up and down between high 80s and high 90s even though I was sat down!!

I haven’t exercised since I found out last week (apart from walking the dog)but I do normally play netball every week. I cancelled playing this week as I have a cold as well and not feeling 100%. But not sure what to do if this heart rate thing continues. It’s back down to normal now like in the 60s. I’m not playing next week as we are away at our caravan.

Hello to all the other newbies 👋🏻. Think my due date will be around 22-27th Jan! Haven’t told anyone yet apart from my parents.

Same on the exercise front! I go to a specific type of gym and have been really struggling in the classes, considering telling my coach so they can modify things if needed and let me reduce intensity… seems far too early to do that though

anyone else have experience?

vka · 22/05/2024 15:38

Hi ladies, hope it's ok for me to join. I'm due Jan 22nd, feeling so tired but other than that it's all good. This is my first pregnancy, it was a surprise pregnancy but I'm feeling good about it as I did want to be a young mum. Hope everyone else is doing ok

Sarah268 · 22/05/2024 15:41

@Elephxnt @mr809
So after diving head-first into Google, it is apparently very normal. Apparently your heart rate rises very early in pregnancy to prepare itself for all the extra blood it will have to pump round in the near future.

This is the result of pregnancy hormones which as we know rise very quickly from day 1...

I just hope my body adapts and I'm not stuck like a wheezing hippo for months 😂although as my partner keeps saying, this is for a nice reason not a bad one!

In terms of telling your coach, that's a tricky one. I personally don't want anyone to know for quite a while. Maybe you could say you've had covid and are recovering or that your iron levels are low. From experience, both have similar symptoms to what I am experiencing.

@LS888 apparently heart palpitations are also normal (I've had them too)

rlar · 22/05/2024 15:51

Hey all, BFP on Sunday so brand new here! Due 22nd January I think like a few others. Baby #1 for me so everything is new and exciting!

Minimal symptoms - period style cramps and slightly bigger, more tender boobs. So minimal that I went to the doctors yesterday for some antibiotics for an ear infection and completely forgot to even ask if they were safe for use when pregnant.

Just a waiting game now for my eight week appt at the hospital which I’ve just referred myself to. Don’t think I’ll get any early scans or anything, quite happy to just go with the flow!

TerryRose · 22/05/2024 16:03

Great to see so many new people joining 🥰 I've been feeling absolutely shattered and got my blood results back and my iron is low so have to go on additional iron supplements to the pregnacare, this happened me last time as well. The house is a mess and the laundry is overflowing but I've not had the energy this week.

Hi how old are you if you don't mind me asking. I'm 16 so I'm just wondering if there is anyone close to my age

vka · 22/05/2024 16:56

I'm 23, but I'm sure you aren't the only pregnant 16 year old

How are you doing? I read you're doing your GCSEs atm, I can't imagine going through that and being pregnant. For starters I'd be too tired! Is there a way to got special circumstances because of it? Also, how did your baby's dad react?

The increase in HR was my first indication that I might be pregnant! I also struggled to exercise in my first pregnancy as everything felt so difficult.

I had just got back into the habit of running again and now stopped doing anything.

LS888 · 22/05/2024 18:06

Interesting to hear that palpitations are normal. I will still mention to my midwife at my booking appointment as I didn’t have that last time. I definitely had the raised HR last time as it was a sign I was looking for as I wore a Fitbit, I sort of knew I was pregnant before the test! This time I knew because of the nausea!

Hope everyone is feeling ok. I’m also exhausted. And used my daughter’s naps today to have a bit of downtime! The tiredness is worst in the first trimester so hopefully it will pass for everyone soon.

Pregnancy+ is an NHS app its so good!

Defo give it a try and let me know :)

CubandPug · 22/05/2024 21:03

To the youngest mamas, I has my first at 19. It can be tough but once you have support you can do it and you can do anything you put your mind to, I got my degree with a toddler so don't worry you can still achieve so many things albeit with a sidekick beside you!

I feel rubbish the past two days, beyond exhausted and feeling so sick especially in the late afternoon and evening, working and cooking dinner is a struggle! I also have the breathless heart rate thing going on. I'm also very bloated so it's a struggle to wear my jeans!

MaybeBaby2024 · 22/05/2024 22:16

Welcome to all the newbies.
I feel dreadful this week. So nauseated all day. Hungry and know I need to eat but finding it difficult to have more than a few nibbles of anything before feeling really ill.
Have had to take some time off work which I really didn’t want to do!

It's ok, tbh in some ways it's good as I'm kinda not expecting to do well so it makes me less nervous about the exams. I can concentrate quite well in the exams and they put me in my own special room so I'm not in the sport's hall cause of it. But I can't really concentrate on revision and basically not doing a lot but the exams have been mostly ok. Apparantly I am probably going to get 2% extra in all my papers because of it which is good but it doesn't feel a lot but it's ok and I guess if I fail any of them I can retake. I am sleeping at weird times and sometimes after an exam I will sleep for like 3 hours. But I mostly have energy in them and can focus and it keeps me distracted from being pregnant. I guess the adreneline is good for that. I feel a bit sick but again it seems to not be so bad actually in the exams which is good

He is also a bit freaked out, I don't know how much he will be involved but he says he will "try and help a bit." How about for your bf?

EnidH00pes · 23/05/2024 00:38

Hello please can I join? Wife and I (same sex couple) have just had our BFP following a round of IVF. Dates suggest baby would be due on 22nd of Jan which seems to be a popular one. DW doesn't do social media but is happy for me to report in- she's currently throwing up (morning sickness seems to be coming at night!!)

We're nervously awaiting our scan to hopefully hear a heartbeat, should be in a couple of weeks at our fertility clinic

Katie1989xx · 23/05/2024 13:39

Question for any ladies using the progesterone pessaries - it's my first time using them and since starting to use them my symptoms seem to have vanished. I had sore boobs and major fatigue and now I feel fine! Could this be linked to the progesterone or simply a coincidence? Anyone had a similar experience?

LS888 · 23/05/2024 15:08

@EnidH00pes welcome! Ahhh morning sickness is the worst. I was only sick a few times with my last pregnancy and nothing yet 🤞🏻 but the nausea both times has been awful. So I feel for you wife!! Hope all goes well with the scan. Out of the 9 couples in my NCT group last time - 3 of them had IVF. Just think the science is amazing.

Hi! I am using progesterone pessaries. I have found that my symptoms really come and go and there is no consistent pattern.

I'm nauseous some days and not others and I personally don't think it's to do with progesterone but assume it's the eb and flow of first trimester?

belleissmart · 23/05/2024 16:28

My symptoms have really diminished too - but that happened to my mum and a few of my mates so I'm trying not to google anything that would scare me, and just be thankful I'm feeling okay atm. I've got my midwife appt on Sunday so going to mention it then and see what she thinks

Hey Katie,
I’m the opposite, i felt my sore boobs vanish before I started taking progesterone (week 5+3days). The soreness hasn’t really returned but veryyy mildly uncomfortable now.
Definitely feeling nauseous though for the past week especially after eating. But I am now 8 weeks tomorrow so I’m not sure if it’s because of progesterone or normal pregnancy symptoms.

I am also majorly struggling with keeping up my usual exercise due to exhaustion and sickness!

However similar to you I attend a gym where its specific classes but there's one instructor whose specialism I guess is post and pre natal and she said its never too early to make adaptions. When I went before the sickness well and truly set in, probably about 6 weeks, she did adapted abdominal exercises and spoke about not pushing with weight as much, due to pressure but also dizziness 🙂 obviously each instructor might be different but she was confident you needed to adapt with your body regardless of how early

Vik27 · 23/05/2024 17:25

Had a bit of brown spotting yesterday so contacted ivf clinic after previous MC. Had a scan today measuring 6w and we saw the heartbeat. Still have to go back next week when I’m 7w+2 to measure the heartbeat.
