Woohoo then onto downstairs
Renderer was supposed to come
Today / tomorrow but cancelled cos of the weather and it didn't even bloody rain and he's now on holiday all next week. Holding stuff up as can't take scaffolding down til
Hes done and can't put front door or garage in until then as I don't
Trust scaffolders to be careful enough when taking it all down

Had my scan today. All looking very good. Found out my placenta is posterior high. And that baby is currently head down and facing my back. And weighs 373g 😊

rachisamumtobe · 07/06/2024 09:10

@Joey2011 that's great news! Xx

30somethingttc · 10/06/2024 18:51

Hi all!
I’ve got my 20 week scan Thursday.
one of my babies is transverse but facing towards my back so at scans you can see the back of the head and back.
shes been facing that way in the last few scans since 14 weeks so I doubt she’s going to go be in a different position. I wonder if anyone else’s baby has been facing the same way but they’ve been able to get everything they need from the scan?
thanks!

ToffeeEl · 10/06/2024 19:22

@30somethingttc my 15 month old was transverse up until 36/37ish weeks and they managed to get everything they needed from scans. The only really awkward scan I can remember was earlier on when she was low down in my hips. Is it twins? Midwife last time gave me odd exercises to do and try to move her

WeightoftheWorld · 10/06/2024 22:00

@30somethingttc my DC1 was transverse until 36 weeks! But to be fair I'm not sure when from. Scans were fine although I did have to go back a second time for heart measurements for the 20 week one as she wasn't playing ball then. Hope your scan goes well.

Glad to hear of everyone else's scans that have gone well.

I'm still waiting for my uterine artery doppler scan appointment letter. I will chase the hospital next week if it's not here by the end of this week. I have also texted and now called and left a VM for my midwife as still don't have my MatB1. I'm hoping she may ring me back tomorrow as last time I left her a VM she called me back the next day so here's hoping. Have also asked DH to hurry up and find out his work's policy for shared parental pay. Finally, I have a phone call with an employment advisor from the talking therapies later in the week to talk my mat leave plans through as still have no idea what I'm going to do as my employment situation is so complicated Sad the pregnancy is starting to feel a bit more real now!

30somethingttc · 11/06/2024 06:42

thanks @ToffeeEl @WeightoftheWorld

yes I’m having two babies! The little one at the top seems quite squished although they keep telling me she has enough room 😂
I was just a bit worried they wouldn’t be able to see her face or the front of her body to do the checks. We couldn’t get properly checked at 12 weeks either so a bit nervous for this one and want them to be able to check everything they need too!

JLT24 · 11/06/2024 20:14

Is anyone having a 4D scan?

AppleTree16 · 12/06/2024 08:39

JLT24 · 11/06/2024 20:14

Is anyone having a 4D scan?

No. I find them slightly terrifying 🙈

Missingpotatocroquettes · 12/06/2024 09:36

JLT24 · 11/06/2024 20:14

Is anyone having a 4D scan?

My doctor switches it to 4d at all my appointments! It's a lot of fun to see the baby in so much detail.

CluelessInLondon · 12/06/2024 14:40

Really random question but does anybody else get a bit freaked out by the baby movements when they're moving around a lot? For the most part I love feeling them as it gives me reassurance that baby is okay, but it's such a strange feeling that I can't really compare to anything else - earlier this afternoon baby was wriggling all over the place and when I actually think about it, it's kind of freaky that there's an actual human in there and that's what I can feel. Probably sounds a bit daft, but wondered if anyone can relate, especially fellow first timers!

@CluelessInLondon I find it weird. Like what are they getting upto in there? I also worry they're squashed/bored 😅

rachisamumtobe · 12/06/2024 16:31

@CluelessInLondon it's funny and weird but also amazing and gives me peace of mind that yes I am actually having a baby! lol I did feel a really big kick the other day and kinda jumped! lol

Mitsky · 12/06/2024 17:04

Sara1988 · 12/06/2024 15:27

I had a scan the other day and baby had its head pushed right up against a massive fibroid I have! The sonographer did say that it had plenty of room to move but had chosen that position so I’ve said to my husband I’m worried I’m growing an idiot!

I haven’t felt any movement yet so haven’t got those physical signs but occasional get moments when I’m like oh shit there’s a whole other person inside me! This is wild!

LuxeBiscuit · 12/06/2024 18:09

@CluelessInLondon despite knowing the ins and out of how foetuses develop I will never truly understand how we can grow humans inside of us. The babies are 'feeding' off of us, drinking fluid, peeing, somehow breathing in fluid and all together hanging around in the dark for months on end.

So yes, when they're somersaulting, squirming and kicking it is freaky.

@Mitsky maybe it's a nice squishy pillow? I say this as a fibroid owner btw.

Mitsky · 12/06/2024 18:32

@LuxeBiscuit it could be! I have also suggested we commission a fibroid cuddly toy in case it gets separation anxiety out in the real world.

SuenoNB · 12/06/2024 22:27

Mine mainly loves kicking directly downwards onto my bladder! Definitely making me work those pelvic floor muscles 💪

AnxiousD · 13/06/2024 07:30

How many things do you all drop in one day?! 🤣🫣

CluelessInLondon · 13/06/2024 09:34

Glad I'm not the only one who finds the movements a bit weird - it is really crazy what our bodies are doing right now!

OP posts:
LuxeBiscuit · 13/06/2024 15:06

@Mitsky it might be worth a try to help with tears lol

@SuenoNB I've heard others talk about kicks in your bladder. Do you actually feel the kick or do you just get a sudden need to pee?

Sara1988 · 13/06/2024 18:10

@LuxeBiscuit when mine kicks my bladder I get the normal sensation of a kick but it's exactly where you feel pressure when you need to pee and that pressure gets a little more intense with the kick

SuenoNB · 13/06/2024 23:01

@LuxeBiscuit Exactly what @Sara1988 said! I definitely know it is a kick but feel an increase in pressure. I'm hoping baby finds a new favourite position before it gets bigger and those kicks get stronger as otherwise I might have to invest in some Tena lady!

Anyone else got awful
Round ligament pain? Struggling

I’ve had it on and off lasts about 30 mins and feel like I can’t move/breathe then it goes away. How has yours been? Are you taking pain relief think paracetamol is safe.

mrssunshinexxx · 14/06/2024 06:39

@JLT24 mine has been constant since wed AM I had my scan yest and when she pushed on with the machine it was so sore. Barely slept a wink last night I hope it only lasts 2/3 weeks lie google seems to say
