Has anyone had to go back for their 20wk so an due to lack of movement /unable to get measurements?

@AnxiousD I had mine yesterday and have to go back, they couldn't get everything needed as baby had hands over her face majority of the time & they couldn't get a view of her kidneys / full heart measurements due to positioning.

I think it's quite common .. was the same at my 12wk, I had to go back .. this baby doesn't like playing ball but I'm not complaining as means I get to see her again ❤️

Can now join those who have had their anatomy scan! It was all fine. I thought I would feel relieved and I guess I do feel a bit more comfortable to finally tell everyone who still doesn't already know. But then I just feel worried about my next scan which will be the uterine artery doppler one in about 3 weeks, although haven't got an appointment through yet. Baby is looking fairly small too atm which is totally fine obviously but I'm just conscious that growth often tails off early in low Papp A pregnancies so would have been a bit more reassuring for more if they were bigger to start with if that makes sense. Hopefully all will be ok, I can't do anything about it anyway I guess.

How is everyone?

I agree, had our 20 week scan yesterday and still feel worried! I guess it’ll just be this way for me until the end of the pregnancy! I think they did the uterine check you mention at the same scan, it looked like that anyway from googling!

I think I almost feel more worried now I've had the 20 week scan, even though know I know the odds good to have a perfectly healthy baby after the scan was perfect. I've seen her now and told pretty much every body (can't really hide this bump anymore!) just feels like there's so much at stake. Plus observing the movements adds another layer of stress - does anyone know when these should become regular? I just want to feel her all the time to know she's okay!!
Anyone else in the same boat and feeling anxious ?

I feel there is more at stake! And I knew I would feel this way after seeing a fully formed baby at the scan, I’m so scared! I’ve felt tiny movements. I asked the midwife the other day and she said to see if there is a pattern around 24-26 weeks and contact triage if concerned.

Scarftown · 02/06/2024 08:25

I haven't really felt baby move yet. However from my first pregnancy it's a lot later that you establish a pattern and then you spend lots of time being anxious of movements because of it's less or more than usual you are meant to get seen. I don't think the worry stops now this is what we will live with as parents.

WeightoftheWorld · 02/06/2024 10:55

@JJLT24 They do that in some places but it's only offered to people with certain risk factors, and my Trust brings us in to have it separately around 23 weeks the sonographer told me. Bit annoying really as would have been a lot more convenient to have it in one go than have to go up and down to the hospital a second time in 3 weeks.

rachisamumtobe · 02/06/2024 11:52

@WeightoftheWorld hugs xx glad you got to see baby. I have my 20 week scan tomorrow (when I'm exactly 20 weeks!) xxx looking forward to seeing them again

Hilrobco · 03/06/2024 07:52

Does this October group have a Facebook? My baby is due in Nov, & I joined the November babies thread & the fb and was telling a friend (due in October) how useful it is! Would love to direct her that way of there is :)

Sara1988 · 03/06/2024 08:59

My baby is moving so much I actually googled can there be too much movement (apparently not.) Quite worried about when they start getting uncomfortable/painful.

CluelessInLondon · 03/06/2024 09:37

@Sara1988 Look at it this way, if you weren't feeling them move a lot you'd be feeling concerned about that - so at least this way you are feeling baby wriggling around and not stressing about lack of movement.

I'm absolutely with those who are still feeling worried/uncertain even after the 20 week scan - mine was over 3 weeks ago now and it feels like an absolute age ago that I saw a little baby bouncing around all over the screen. I definitely feel like movements have ramped up a bit for me in the last few days, but it's still not very consistent, some days I feel a lot and on others it's just odd flickers and flutters. I'm definitely getting bigger though so just have to keep reminding myself that something must be going on in there!

@Sara1988 babies are all different with different personalities, some move absolutely tons and others not so much. My first DC moved sooo much it was annoying tbh Grin DC2 not as much.

Has anyone got their MatB1 yet? This is my third baby but I really can't remember how I got it the last two times. I've texted my midwife to ask, I don't think she works Mondays so I'm hoping she might get back to me tomorrow. As work will need it within a few weeks if I'm not mistaken.

CluelessInLondon · 03/06/2024 21:13

@WeightoftheWorld My midwife told me I'd get mine at my 25 week appointment - she said they can't issue them before 20 weeks, not sure if that's a universal thing or just the way my trust does it!

OP posts:
RobynC28 · 03/06/2024 21:17

I got mine at my 16 week appointment but it was at 20 weeks so that'd probably why I could get it. I had to submit it with my maternity form that i had to share with HR before 25 weeks so I'm not sure what I'd do otherwise!

Scarftown · 03/06/2024 22:35

I'll be leaving the thread. Thanks for all the support but the 20 week scan today didn't go so well. So I'll be dropping off the group. All the best.

CluelessInLondon · 03/06/2024 22:46

@Scarftown I'm so sorry to hear that - take care of yourself and I hope you have lots of love and support around you. ❤️

@WeightoftheWorld and now they're barely moving. Gosh this is so stressful!

LSW82 · 03/06/2024 23:01

@WeightoftheWorld I got my form at my 20 wk scan

RobynC28 · 04/06/2024 06:31

@Scarftown so sorry to hear this. Sending you strength, please take care of yourself. X

2doggos · 04/06/2024 10:39

@Scarftown so sorry to hear this, sending lots of love x

2doggos · 04/06/2024 10:41

@Sara1988 I'm the same! I had my 20 week scan on Friday then Saturday I thought the baby was being really active then the last couple days I've not felt much. I never realised how anxious pregnancy would make me!

Sara1988 · 04/06/2024 10:49

@2doggos i think before 24 weeks it can be sporadic as the baby can move into different positions but it's so hard not to worry

2doggos · 04/06/2024 10:59

@Sara1988 I can't wait for the movement to become more consistent, I'll probably still be worried then! I've got to go back to be rescanned next week as baby wasn't in the correct position for some things so at least I will get to see them again then :)

Sara1988 · 04/06/2024 13:43

@2doggos I had exactly the same. Going back in Friday.

rachisamumtobe · 04/06/2024 16:27

Had our 20 week scan yesterday and found out we are having a (very strong willed!) boy! He was so comfortable that a few measurements couldn't be made so going back next week! At least we get to see him again so soon. He is a proper wriggler and we are so happy xxx
