@CosyGreyLion I'll keep everything crossed for you ❤️ try to stay positive until your next scan xxx

CosyGreyLion · 18/03/2024 20:45

Thank you ♥️

hopingforapeainapod · 18/03/2024 21:17

@CaptinKitty thats great that things are looking back on track! Just goes to show how much can change in these early stages. Hopefully you can relax (at least a little bit!) more now!

@IsLarryFromSomething yes I had a pupil told me I looked very tired on Friday, charming! That’s so great your head is being so supportive. I haven’t told mine yet although I have told my head of department - it’s quite hard for him to discreetly ask me how I’m doing as our department office is always so busy and crowded though! I haven’t told any of my other colleagues but they surely must have guessed by now because I am constantly eating / yawning / going to the toilet lol. I can’t wait for Easter holidays and then when I come back I won’t have to hide everything so much anymore!!

@CosyGreyLion sorry to hear your early scan wasn’t very reassuring. It’s possible you could have ovulated or implanted later than you think as measurements are so small at this stage (literally a difference of fractions of millimetres). I think the fact you are feeling so nauseous is hopefully a good sign? Try and stay as positive as you can and I hope you get some answers soon 🙏

WickWood · 18/03/2024 21:46

@CosyGreyLion Sorry to hear of your difficult scan, the fact you're feeling sick is surely a good sign. Thinking of you for your next scan x

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 09:45

@CaptinKitty That is good news - shows how much can change in a short space of time and how hard it is to measure accurately when they are so tiny. Hopefully you are feeling more reassured now.

@CosyGreyLion Sorry to hear that things are uncertain for you after your scan - I hope the next one gives you clarity. ❤

Is anybody else coming to the end of the trimester and feeling a bit weird because not much is really happening? It's such a strange time, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and it's too early to look pregnant, my symptoms aren't too bad (still a bit of on and off nausea, boobs are a bit tender and I'm still feeling tired early in the evenings but that's about it for me now), and so it feels really odd just having to assume everything is still happening as it should. Really want to just crack on with my dating scan now (hopefully) for some reassurance!

JLT24 · 18/03/2024 20:13

@Strawbs92 @Trifficult @Missingpotatocroquettes I’m also nine weeks tomorrow! I had a scan at 7 weeks which gave me some reassurance. My 12 week scan has been booked for 11th April when I’ll be 12+2, it feels so far away!

Good luck!!
I still haven't gotten my 12 weeks yet.

aussiegirl89 · 19/03/2024 10:18

We had our NIPT test results back today and it came back as low risk! We also found out that we're having a boy ☺️

My 12 week scan is actually happening when I'm 13 weeks next Thursday so hopefully everything is ok then 🤞🏼 but so far so good.

Will you be finding out the sex of yours or having a surprise?

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 10:38

@aussiegirl89 Great news! Think you might be the first person on the thread confirmed as having a boy as well, there have definitely been a couple of people who know they're having girls but I can't remember seeing any posts about boys yet. Congratulations!

We had always said we wanted a surprise but have realised we are more tempted to find out the sex than we thought! I don't think we're bothered enough to do a separate scan or anything like that though, so we'll probably just decide before the 20 week scan whether we want to know.

tryforbabynumber2 · 19/03/2024 10:41

Good morning from me and my twinnie bump at 8+3! ❤️ Can't believe how much I'm already showing. I thought it was bloat at first but it's getting bigger and bigger. My mum has had twins (twice) and she said by the time I'm about 20 weeks I'll be looking full term! God help me. How are you all this morning? Xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 19/03/2024 10:42

@aussiegirl89 congratulations!! 😍 We will definitely be finding out - we'll probably have a private scan around 14/15 weeks to find out as it's twins (most likely non-identical) and I'm desperate to know what they both are haha xxx

LuxeBiscuit · 19/03/2024 11:10

@aussiegirl89 great news!

@CluelessInLondon I'm two weeks behind you and it does feel a bit like limbo. The first 6 weeks are filled with stress and uncertainty. The next 3 or so weeks you've too many symptoms to think straight. Symptoms then start to ease off and you can think clearer but have no idea what's happening. Very strange time.

Missingpotatocroquettes · 18/03/2024 17:20

@rachisamumtobe No, no midwife appointment. I'm in Germany and I got a referral to an OB through my husband's work insurance. Not sure how everything works over here yet but I took the first available appointment they had!

Love the username! I'm in the same boat - missing British comfort foods and preparing to give birth in Italy (although not nervous as I gave birth in Italy last time and it was lovely - the hospital food was chef's kiss, apart from the lack of tea and toast after labour!)

Fullofconfusion · 19/03/2024 11:34

I’m 9 weeks today according to my scan I had last week. Thought I was about a week or 2 further on so that was a surprise! Everything looked good though and little heart beating away. It just feels like I’ve been pregnant even longer now!

@JLT24 we are scan buddies! My 12 week scan is the same date. I’m excited to see my little bean again and also nervous that everything is on track after thinking I was further along last time.

My dates have been hard to track due to ridiculously long cycles so I’m still waiting for a properly confirmed EDD. At the last scan she just took a very quick measurement to give a guesstimate as baby wasn’t the right way around.

I am super exhausted today. I’m working from home and honestly feel like I may nap on my lunch break

Its so hard, isn't it! I want beans on toast, with a little bit of marmite so badly. I live on a US army installation (in Germany) and all the American baked beans taste like BBQ 😭. Best I've been able to do for potato croquettes has been tater tots but it's not the same.

Not been hearing good things about German hospital food either. Apparently it's a lot of bread, sliced meat, cheese and pickles for all three meals. Definitely planning on taking a lot of snacks with me.

What did they feed you in the Italian hospitals?

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 11:36

@LuxeBiscuit I'm glad I'm not the only one finding it a bit weird! I think the fact that almost nobody else knows yet adds to it, as I feel like I've known for such a long time that sometimes I just assume other people know as well! And my last scan feels like it was absolutely ages ago...it's like my brain can't quite compute that I'm still pregnant.

I feel you! I fancy crumpets, marmite and fish fingers, but the fish fingers here taste like actual fish (heaven forbid!) so just not the same.

The hospital food was a choice of pasta to start, then a meat and vegetable followed by fruit for pudding. All freshly cooked and just delicious. You have to stay in hospital for a minimum of three days so it’s a good thing the food was tasty. The breakfast was awful though! Melba toast, jam and god awful milky coffee. Definitely getting DH to bring me a takeaway coffee and pastry next time.

German hospital food sounds very…well…German! Definitely stock up on those snacks!

LuxeBiscuit · 19/03/2024 12:18

@CluelessInLondon the good news is it's not long until your scan. Are you planning on telling family and friends straight after?

CaptinKitty · 19/03/2024 12:31

Having had a good reassurance scan yesterday, I decided to go ahead and book a sneak peek gender blood test this morning! Sample was taken and We will get the results in 3 days to let us know if it will be a girl or a boy.

We are going down to visit the in-laws over the Easter break, so we thought it would be lovely to know what we are expecting so that when we talk about the baby, we can think about it as an actual little boy or girl. Plus we will be going shopping at some point that weekend for new shoes and clothes for my son, so I might allow myself a little baby browse too.

obviously will be delighted for a happy, healthy baby, but I won’t lie and say I’m not hoping for a girl!

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 12:32

@LuxeBiscuit Our parents and my sister already know, but we're going to wait until we've had the screening test results before telling anyone else - I don't want to do a big thing of telling people and then discover something's wrong or I need to go through a load more testing. We're actually going away on holiday the day after the scan, so ideally we'll have the results by the time we get back and if everything looks okay we're going to tell people then. Have you told anybody yet or are you waiting until after 12 weeks?

LuxeBiscuit · 19/03/2024 13:37

@CluelessInLondon I'm the same - going to wait until the screening tests are back.

I know it sounds strange but I don't like being fussed over. If something went wrong I know close friends / family would mean well but I wouldn't be able to cope with the constant checking up and questions.

mrssunshinexxx · 19/03/2024 13:46

@CaptinKitty exciting let us know!
I will definitely ask for a peek at my dating scan if sonographer is in a good mood and will double check at 20 week scan.
I've got 2 girls age 2 and 3 I'm very excitied to find out if I'm going to have a girl gang or experience being mummy to a son too 🥰

WeightoftheWorld · 19/03/2024 14:31

Hey, for people still struggling with nausea, I suddenly remembered I had loads of chupa chup lollies in my first pregnancy so got DH to order me a big pack from Amazon and they do help. They keep that horrible taste out of your mouth. I've also discovered I can drink a cup a soup day too which is good to get some liquid down me as my blood pressure is so low due to lack of drinking. Just in case any of that works for anyone else!

mrssunshinexxx · 19/03/2024 14:50

@WeightoftheWorld I've been sucking on the blackcurrant and liquorice boiled sweets

Nic2908 · 19/03/2024 15:39

@aussiegirl89 eeekk how exciting!! I’m still waiting for my results. They were sent first thing on Thursday morning… time is draaaaaggging! 🙃🙃🙃

OneSunnyFox · 19/03/2024 17:21

@aussiegirl89 i got my results today as well, low prob too which is a relief. I think we may also be due on the same day as well! Are you also the 3rd Oct?

@lpylou turns out my results were super speedy! Despite them saying 5-10 days they came back in 2 business days! Just in case you are still thinking about different providers!
