@RobynC28 I've got some bio oil but unsure if it makes any difference!

CosyGreyLion · 17/04/2024 19:44

Hi, I think I have joined to what’s app x

mrssunshinexxx · 17/04/2024 21:58

@RobynC28 yes palmers cocoa butter used in my other pregnancies religiously and don't have and SM 's

spudnik1 · 18/04/2024 07:23

Bump oil. I am not bothering this time. Last time I used bio oil morning and night every single day . Still have stretch marks.

CluelessInLondon · 18/04/2024 09:30

I always thought stretch marks were mostly down to genetics and you either get them or you don't...but I will probably buy something anyway, just to feel like I'm doing something to help. 😂

Despite not being that 'bumpy' yet, I had my first struggle to do up my trousers this morning getting ready for work - fortunately the bump bands I ordered earlier in the week arrived quickly so I'm now trying one of those out! Feels a bit weird wandering around with my trousers not done up, but I guess nobody else can tell...

Missingpotatocroquettes · 18/04/2024 10:54

Very nervous for my appointment tomorrow. I had a small amount of brown spotting in my underwear yesterday. Not had any spotting up to this point and I'm 13 weeks.

This also happened right after I had a minor freak out and told my husband I didn't want a baby so now I feel like it's going to be my fault if I miscarry now :(. I do want our baby but I'm only 20 and it wasn't our plan to have kids for at least a few more years.

Itsasomething · 18/04/2024 10:57

Has anyone found the results from the 12week screening via the badger app before getting a letter?

CluelessInLondon · 18/04/2024 11:01

@Missingpotatocroquettes I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry - brown means it's old blood, so if it stops by itself or doesn't get any worse then it is probably nothing to panic about. Is your appointment tomorrow a scan?

@Itsasomething My trust doesn't use the Badger app but they do have a patient portal where they load test results and appointments - my screening results have never showed up on that, I'm not sure if it's because the screening is done by another trust on behalf of the whole area. Very annoying as it took nearly 3 weeks for the results to arrive by post!

Missingpotatocroquettes · 18/04/2024 11:50

@CluelessInLondon Thank you. I haven't had anymore blood since I found the first spot, just the regular clear/white discharge that I always get. I'm not sure if my appointment tomorrow will include a scan but I'm going to mention the spotting and, hopefully, they will scan me too.

journeytomum · 18/04/2024 12:57

Hi everyone,

We had a big scare last night - I stood up from the sofa and suddenly had a huge bleed which was terrifying to say the least. We rushed to a&e and got seen to very quickly, probably quicker because of twins and previous mc history. Pleased to say both twins doing ok which is a huge relief as I was sure we'd lost one. So keep positive if you do have any bleeding. It was everywhere - all down my legs in and saturated my pyjamas very quickly. I've not had anything since, just some light spotting so keeping an eye and resting up.

WeightoftheWorld · 18/04/2024 13:13

Yeah I think stretch marks are genetic. I never used any creams and never got any in either pregnancy. My DM likewise never got any in three pregnancies without using any creams so presume I've got those genes too.

I didn't even go the hospital for my spotting in the end. It was so little and I never had anymore so I just left it, figured it would be fine. Plus tbh if it's not they couldn't do anything atm anyway so.

Had a talking therapies assessment today, my anxiety is through the roof which seems to always happen in all my pregnancies. I left it too late in my previous ones and suffered so much when the kids were newborns so decided to refer myself early this time and hopefully I can get a handle on it all quicker. Luckily they have an online group course for anxiety and depression symptoms in the perinatal period starting tomorrow so I am joining that.

Hope everyone is well, sorry to hear about people with bleeding, it is scary but glad everyone seems to be ok.

Missingpotatocroquettes · 18/04/2024 13:17

@journeytomum that sounds terrifying. I'm so sorry that happened to you but I'm glad everything was okay!

WickWood · 18/04/2024 13:53

@journeytomum That's terrifying, but thank god all is okay!

CluelessInLondon · 18/04/2024 14:01

@journeytomum That sounds incredibly scary! Really pleased to hear that everything is okay with both of your little beans. ❤

Does anyone have any advice or words of wisdom for sickness and nausea? I had a 2 day streak and felt great and I am bed bound again today. It’s so draining I feel completely thrown by it as I have such a busy work schedule usually and am constantly flaking out of stuff/off sick. The Drs were not concerned as it’s not every single day and so didn’t want to offer any anti sickness. Dated as 13+2 so was hoping I had seen the back of it now!

I've been prescribed ondansetron and found that a game changer for getting my life back!

Btowngirl · 18/04/2024 15:54

@Justkeepswimming91 i was hoping for something similar! Not for every day just to tide me over when it’s bad but he said if I can hold food and drink down they won’t (which isn’t true when I’m bad but I obv can when I am not sick so I felt like it was a bit gaslighty), I might try and get a phone consult with one of the female drs as I felt like he was being a bit patronising 🤔 glad it’s made such a difference for you though!

cm3212 · 18/04/2024 16:46

@journeytomum I've had the same thing happen 3 times and each time all has been ok (just the one baby for me) .. it's so scary each time it has happened, really pleased to hear everything is ok for you ❤️

LiviaX · 18/04/2024 18:05

@Missingpotatocroquettes my baby is the result of nearly three years of trying and was desperately wanted and I still told my DH I didn’t want to be pregnant any more. Because it’s absolutely awful being pregnant and really scary becoming a parent. Don’t beat yourself up about it, we all go through little wobbles. It doesn’t mean anything.

LuxeBiscuit · 18/04/2024 18:27

@journeytomum I'm glad the twins are doing okay. Good news.

I had spotting so went to A&E. They refused to scan me. The general Dr that I saw had no idea what he was talking about. He said as I had the dating scan 2 weeks ago there couldn't be anything wrong and he's certain that it's a viable pregnancy. I asked how he could say that without a scan or checking the HB. How would you know if baby was in distress. His response was he was basing it on my clinic notes from 2 weeks ago!

I'm tempted to get a private scan.

WickWood · 18/04/2024 18:37

@LuxeBiscuit That's ridiculous. Can you contact the EPU? If not a private scan is always good for reassurance x

CluelessInLondon · 18/04/2024 19:12

@LuxeBiscuit That's really poor - even if A&E can't scan you (a lot can't), they should be able to refer you to EPU for a scan. Could you contact EPU directly yourself, or maternity triage? Technically triage is for 18 weeks and over at my hospital but if I had an issue and A&E refused to help me I would absolutely use it!

LuxeBiscuit · 18/04/2024 20:08

@WickWood @CluelessInLondon thanks both. In my trust you have to go via A&E up to 18 weeks. I was triaged three time. The Dr called up to the antenatal (EPU) dept which was who said they wouldn't scan me. Antenatal is a few floors up and where I had my dating scan.

I did press him to say that what he said wasn't correct. I actually think it's irresponsible of a Dr to say they're certain everything was fine and there was definitely a viable pregnancy without a single medical check.

WickWood · 18/04/2024 20:48

@LuxeBiscuit I wonder what rationale they gave for not scanning you. What he said was definitely irresponsible, the liklihood is that your baby is fine, but he can't know that. I hope you get a private scan sorted x
