@aussiegirl89 i got my results today as well, low prob too which is a relief. I think we may also be due on the same day as well! Are you also the 3rd Oct?

@lpylou turns out my results were super speedy! Despite them saying 5-10 days they came back in 2 business days! Just in case you are still thinking about different providers!

@OneSunnyFox @aussiegirl89 did you both do Safe NIPT test? I am looking at a provider in London and it says either 2-4 days for one for £500 or £500 another in 7 days. Interesting your results were early!

Sreilly3 · 19/03/2024 17:34

Hi all, I have been quietly reading posts for a while now. I am 8+3 and had a scan at 6 weeks which showed a heartbeat. Have another reassurance scan at 9 weeks to check all is OK. I feel so anxious I can't think straight. Convincing myself I'll have had a missed miscarriage. Apart from exhaustion and sore boobs I haven't had many symptoms. Anyone else feel the same? Feels so lonely x

OneSunnyFox · 19/03/2024 18:00

@Sunandsea13 I used ultrasound direct! They’ve moved away from Harmony(seems like alot of providers have) and now use Illumina Veriseq NIPT Solution v2 according to my results. It cost £400 including a scan.

I had my appointment Friday afternoon and the results were in my inbox by 11am this morning! Can only recommend my experience with them, and a friend of a friend had mentioned they’d used them before and had a good experience too!

tryforbabynumber2 · 19/03/2024 19:06

@Sreilly3 I feel you with the anxiety! I only had a scan on Saturday (3 days ago) at 8 weeks and found out we're having twins - both healthy heartbeats. We told our families on Sunday as I felt I couldn't keep it in after having that news! But now I can't stop panicking that something will go wrong and I'll have to tell everyone that I've lost them xxx

LuxeBiscuit · 19/03/2024 19:44

I know each area is different but for those who've had the booking appointment, were you allocated a named midwife?

I viewed my blood and urine results on the app and noticed an issue with my urine results. I have a named midwife but have no contact details. I tried my GP and antenatal clinic with no luck. I'm a persistent person Grin so just went to the GP surgery. Got prescribed antibiotics straight away but I'm still confused about whether I should be going via the midwife.

JLT24 · 19/03/2024 20:02

@LuxeBiscuit yes the midwife who did my booking appointment will be my
midwife throughout. She gave me her mobile number but also told me to contact my GP or EPU if any concerns as she only checks her messages once a day Mon-Fri. She also text me with my blood test results. She is linked to the hospital I chose and then she also covers my specific GP practice. She told me there are other midwives who cover the other GP practices in my area.

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 20:15

@Sreilly3 Welcome - no need to feel lonely here, we are all in the same (carb-craving, slightly bloated) boat! The anxiety is completely understandable - if it helps, just remind yourself that today you are pregnant and you have no reason to think otherwise. I'm nearly 12 weeks and haven't had major symptoms either - some nausea, sore boobs and tiredness but not much otherwise. I feel bad reading posts on here where people are feeling really terrible, but also grateful to have escaped really horrible symptoms so I can still do normal stuff.

Is anybody else's skin driving them absolutely crazy? I've broken out in so many spots this week, my skin hasn't been this bad since I first came off the pill and all my hormones were trying to figure out what was going on. 😫

CluelessInLondon · 19/03/2024 20:17

@LuxeBiscuit The community midwives in my area operate as a team - there's one named lead but about 6 others who work under her, so I haven't a clue if I'll ever see the one who did my booking appointment again or who I'll see for my 16 week appointment!

CosyGreyLion · 19/03/2024 20:33

So, I’ve been struggling with constantly feeling sick. Today I bought some sickness bands so I’m really hoping they will work. I haven’t felt exceptionally sick since putting them on but I’m thinking this might just be fluke 😂
considering this is my 5th pregnancy, I have never heard of a gender test??
I don’t recall feeling this way with my other pregnancies but my last one with the twins was when I was 26 and I’m now 38 so I’m thinking age might have something to do with it.

LuxeBiscuit · 19/03/2024 20:54

Thanks @CluelessInLondon and @JLT24. My borough seems to have a hybrid community / allocated midwife approach. I'll wait to see if the named midwife contacts me this week.

Nic2908 · 19/03/2024 21:11

@OneSunnyFox ahh mine is with veriseq also. You have had yours so much faster than mine. Are you based down south? I’m wondering if it’s allowance for travel time.

OneSunnyFox · 19/03/2024 21:25

@Nic2908 Yes! I’m London based! I can see from my report my blood arrived at the lab they used the same day as my blood sample was taken, so think that must be in London too!

tryforbabynumber2 · 19/03/2024 21:27

@CluelessInLondon yes to the spots! My skin is so lifeless, almost grey looking (I'm naturally pale anyway), bags under my eyes and spotty. Feel like a teenager again 😂 (I wish!) 30 this year. I look fine with makeup on but without it I look like an extra from The Walking Dead 😂

WeightoftheWorld · 19/03/2024 21:52

@CluelessInLondon yep, I've got loads of spots over last few weeks. This always happens to me in the first trimester though, then they clear up and I hesitate to say it but have lovely skin for the remainder of the pregnancies!

We have an allocated community midwife here yes who we see for all antenatal and postnatal appointments except for sickness/annual leave/if postnatal visits don't fall on their working day, that kind of thing. I had good continuity in my previous pregnancies so confident I will this time too. Having said that, I find that can be a double edged sword as didn't really ever click with my last midwife and didn't feel I did with my new one either.

Nervous764367 · 19/03/2024 22:06

My skin is absolutely terrible too and it’s the horrible bigger ones that sit underneath the skin and I can’t do anything about. Makeup doesn’t even help as you can still see the bulge 🙈 it’s horrible. Really hoping it clears up soon as my skin is never ever this bad.

Yes, I’ll be seeing the same midwife too. I’m booked in with the homebirth team so all my appointments are done at home, which is great as I don’t need to find childcare for my other children. It’s lovely too becuase she got my DD involved during the booking appointment, doing my blood pressure and let her listen with the stethoscope. DD loved it!
Also said at 16 weeks that she can listen to baby’s heartbeat, so I’m looking forward to seeing what my daughter makes of that too (🤞🏽we get there) xx

aussiegirl89 · 19/03/2024 23:39

Thank you everyone 💙

@OneSunnyFox yes I'm also due 3rd October 😍😍 congrats on your results!

@Sunandsea13 im in Australia but the NIPT is private here also! It is expensive.

We paid A$460 at ultrasound care Bondi junction and got results within 6 days - for any other potential Sydney people on this group.

Oct24 · 19/03/2024 23:49

My skin is being annoying too. I remember from my first pregnancy things cleared up around the 2nd trimester and then I had the most beautiful skin until the baby was born. Throughly looking forward to that stage again!

10 weeks today. 1 week countdown to my next scan and NIPT test. I bought my son his announcement t-shirt this week. Starting to feel real now!

RobynC28 · 20/03/2024 06:16

@CluelessInLondon and @tryforbabynumber2 this is me! My skin is soo awful. I use to struggle with hormonal acne so I'm not suprised. It was previously controlled by the pill and only came off that in November. That plus the carb diet is not a good combination! I'm also v pale and honestly look like a spotty sallow ghost without makeup on atm!

Btowngirl · 20/03/2024 06:57

@LuxeBiscuit mine told me I am under the GP until 16 weeks and then midwife lead after 16 weeks. Which I would prefer tbh 😅

mrssunshinexxx · 20/03/2024 07:11

God I feel horrific I really can't cope with this much longer it's just relentless

aussiegirl89 · 20/03/2024 07:47

@mrssunshinexxx same. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and still vomiting and tired AF. I can't wait to feel good again 🙃

Solidarity xxxx

mrssunshinexxx · 20/03/2024 08:00

Noooo @aussiegirl89 it should be easing up by then this does not give me hope. I think with my others it was 14 weeks but wow that feels so long away

LuxeBiscuit · 20/03/2024 09:20

@mrssunshinexxx I felt the same last week but I'm 10 weeks now and the all day nausea has eased off and I have more energy. Hoping you feel better soon.

Fullofconfusion · 20/03/2024 09:34

I just feel exhausted all of the time. I feel like I could nap at any moment which just doesn’t happen with having a job and a child to look after. My partner keeps asking if I’m ok as I’m quiet but it’s just because I’m so tired

Sunandsea13 · 20/03/2024 10:47

Has anyone used window to the womb for NIPT? Seems to be a new offering in my clinic, but they haven’t said who the actually provider is (e.g prenatal safe, panorama etc). They have their own lab in Watford so seems it’s a test they’ve made themselves? Also no info on if you get a numerical risk or if it’s just low or high? Wouldn’t be looking at it but it’s £160 cheaper then the London clinics!
