Seashells4 · 15/03/2024 17:59

@rachisamumtobe yay due date buddy! :)
I’m feeling ok, I don’t think I’ve ever napped in my life until now haha! The sickness is coming and going but luckily haven’t been sick yet - boobs are killing me though!
how are you feeling? Such an exciting and nervy time! X

rachisamumtobe · 15/03/2024 18:14

@Seashells4 yes! How funny! It's the day after my birthday too! I'm feeling the same and heightened sense of smell makes cooking more difficult lol my boobs are very sore too

hopingforapeainapod · 15/03/2024 20:18

Does anyone else normally suffer with migraines?
2 years ago my migraines got so bad i had 1 last 13weeks! Went on medication that helped but can't take that during pregnancy.
They have been ok and normally only get them the odd day here and there.

but I've had a migraine 2 days in a row Wednesday/ Thursday and today it's come back again really bad 😔 paracetamol just isn't shifting it. Can't phone in sick again so will have to go tonight.

Me, but I take amitriptyline daily now as a preventative and don't get them much anymore with that. Im going to try and wean off that slowly once I'm past the first trimester/sickness etc though as I think use in the third trimester can give the baby withdrawal at birth.

It's really hard having any sort of terrible pain during pregnancy tbh because it's so limited what can be taken to help. I hope you're feeling better soon. I like the migraine Kool n Sooth things you stick on your head, have you tried them? And mostly just try to sleep in a dark room otherwise.

LuxeBiscuit · 16/03/2024 15:02

Just place marking in the new thread Smile

Joey2011 · 16/03/2024 15:12

@WeightoftheWorld What dose of amitriptyline are you on? Doctor told me it was best I came off them around September last year when I found out I was pregnant. But I was on a fairly low dose of 30mg.
I've been pretty good since then, just the odd migraine but have hit me hard this Week.

I'm not 8 weeks until Monday, due like the 30th of October 🤣🤣

WickWood · 16/03/2024 16:17

Today has been stressful, I had some bleeding, called the EPU who booked me in on Monday but decided I couldn't wait, so went for a private scan. Thankfully baby is fine!

I still feel absolutely rotten, no sleep at all last night, coughing so much I'm sick, my throat is so sore I can't eat, feeling really sorry for myself!

Hope everyone is doing okay, lovely to see all the scan photos! X

Edited

Only 10mg! I only got put on it about a month or so before I fell pregnant and I told the GP I was ttc at the time. she got the drugs info up on the screen for reach drug she looked at and all the other preventers said not for use in pregnancy except this one. Amitriptyline is used a lot during pregnancy with no evidence of adverse effect except for newborns can get withdrawal i think so I will be looking to come off it later in the pregnancy. But at the moment I'm so ill with the sickness it's not a good time. You can check medication safety on the BUMPs website (Best Use of Medicines in Pregnancy). Worth speaking to your GP again but I don't think I'd choose to go back on it in pregnancy unless symptoms were really severe. If it helps though, I had a lot of migraines in first trimester of pregnancy one and two and then it eased off and I had none at all the rest of the pregnancy.

JLT24 · 16/03/2024 17:20

@Joey2011 I have chronic migraine and was taking Propranolol prior to ttc but my GP said it’s not safe for pregnancy. I was dreading coming off it and we put off trying for years due to it. I feel so incredibly lucky that I got pregnant in the first month of trying but have definitely noticed an increase in migraine symptoms. I’ve decided if it gets to a level where it’s intolerable I will see a migraine specialist neurologist for advice.

tink3rb3ll · 16/03/2024 19:22

Evening, I would like to join this thread please.

I had an early scan today, 8.2wks. I've been absolutely shattered since week 5.

Willow20233 · 16/03/2024 19:35

Just realised there's a 3rd thread 🥰

Another question for you all. I'm 7+2 and tonight I've had (tmi) shooting pains, almost like nerve pain up my bottom 😏🫢 I've got myself into such a panic incase it's a bad sign. I also have the usual light twinge like feelings very low pelvic area but I've had these on and off due to all the changes for weeks! My last scan was only days ago and baby seen with strong heartbeat.

Just looking for some reassurance or advice.

Thanks in advance xx

@tryforbabynumber2 congratulations! What lovely news 😊

I did read about lightening crotch and hoped that's all it is but you know.what Google is like! Spent the last few hours reading horror stories 🙄

tryforbabynumber2 · 16/03/2024 19:40

@Willow20233 thank you! It definitely hasn't sunk in yet haha! Aww god I know, Google is the worst. If it helps I've had similar but in the hooha the past couple of days plus some sharp twinges on both sides of my uterus but both babies doing well with healthy heartbeats xxx

WickWood · 16/03/2024 19:53

@tryforbabynumber2 Thank you! And omg, massive congratulations, two babies!! How do you feel? X

@tryforbabynumber2 we found out we were having twins a couple of weeks ago and we are also still totally in shock but starting to wrap my head around it now! We also have a 18 month old toddler so it will be chaos but so special. So glad to have a fellow twin mummy to be on here! How have you been feeling? I have been totally wiped with exhaustion and nausea, my first pregnancy feels like a total breeze in comparison!
