@Missingpotatocroquettes get yourself into m&s, their frozen ones are vegan (my friend couldnt believe it 😂). Absolutely delish, even i could eat them with my general aversion to carbs at the moment x

dancingqueen345 · 11/04/2024 20:53

I know it's not always accurate but there's a lovely lady doing nub guesses on a thread in the Pregnancy topic if anyone wants to post their scans x

Bee49 · 11/04/2024 22:01

@JLT24 we had the same yesterday and they couldn’t take the NT measurement. I’m not going to lie I got really upset about it. It’s important to me that we do the testing even if it’s just so we know. In the end I’ve booked a private NIPT test because I couldn’t wait for the quad test and I wasn’t happy that it only screened for Down syndrome. I appreciate I’m very lucky that we can afford it but maybe something to think about if you’re in a similar position.

Mitsky · 11/04/2024 22:31

Probably tmi but I’ve had damp-ish knickers today that’s seems different to discharge (as in its totally colourless) and now I’m worried about it being amniotic fluid this early on. Am I an insane person?

Joey2011 · 12/04/2024 01:57

Anyone else wide awake? I've got so much on my mind atm with work and I've got my dating scan tomorrow. Thinking about how I'm telling family. Tried to get to sleep but I'm starving (woke up yesterday too 1.30am hungry) so went and got a cuppa tea and some biscuits and watched an episode on netflix.
Really need to try and get to sleep though!
I'm such an overthinker at times 😔

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2024 07:10

Anyone else suffering with headaches ?

Anyone else suffering with headaches ?

Me 😭 just having some breakfast to take some paracetamol. Do you suffer from hayfever at all? I feel like mine are connected to this. Going to check with my GP today what allergy meds are safe to take

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2024 07:34

@02tryingfor02 no I don't , I always suffer on some level with them but usually linked to ovulation so now I don't know what they are linked to I just know I hate them and paracetamol doesn't touch the sides. I should be going on aspirin soon until 37 weeks so hopefully that may prevent some of them or from being so bad it's absolutely throbbing and with a 2 and 3 year old to look after it's grim x

Ah I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish 🙁 hopefully the asprin will help with the headaches. Hope you're feeling a bit more human as the day goes on! I sometimes use those blue forehead strips and they help

Joey2011 · 12/04/2024 08:46

@mrssunshinexxx I suffer with them alot.
I had a bad 1 all day yesterday that also made me feel sick. Paracetamol doesn't help with those.
I've barely slept but I'm excited for my scan today 😊

IsLarryFromSomething · 12/04/2024 08:47

My scan is today!! I haven't had any early ones so I am really nervous.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2024 09:11

@02tryingfor02
Yes I love those strips annoyingly I've ran out but will stock up as obviously not much that's safe in pregnancy sometimes a cold flannel feels nice

Good luck for your scans ladies

RobynC28 · 12/04/2024 09:40

I'm getting headaches and I have really bad hay fever. I thought we wernt able to take painkillers or antihistamines pregnant? I've been using those blue strips. I'm 15 weeks today and I think I might finally have a little bump!

TeainanIV · 12/04/2024 10:02

Morning all! Hey! Yesterday's scan was a little bit of a surprise, I'm actually measuring smaller than they thought! They've put me at 9 weeks 3 days - so I'm back in three weeks for my 12 week scan to confirm due date etc! We did think they'd put me ahead when we had our first appointment so we were unsure as to what they'd say! But little bean was wiggling away and heartbeat was there. Just hoping it carries on that way now.

This is my second baby and I can't believe how big I feel already 😬 and the bloating this time around is mad too - I already can't fit in to any of my jeans and have been living in leggings! xxx

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2024 10:26

@RobynC28 paracetamol is fine x

CluelessInLondon · 12/04/2024 10:58

@Mitsky Sounds similar to what I've had the last week or so - increase in discharge, more watery and clear than before. The advice seems to be that unless it's like a gush or consistent trickle then it's likely to just be normal discharge - there's some useful information on the Tommy's website: https://www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/pregnancy-symptom-checker/discharge-pregnancy. I've got my 16 week midwife appointment next week so I'm going to mention it there but for me it's just on and off so I'm not overly worried - just a bit annoying having to remember to wear a liner!

Discharge in pregnancy

Having more vaginal discharge during pregnancy is common but speak to your midwife or doctor if unsure about any increase or change in your vaginal discharge

Len88 · 12/04/2024 11:06

Hi all, in case it’s useful for anyone I thought I would let you know that I found out why I had to see the consultant. It’s because I have a few small fibroids, which I already knew, so nothing too scary. Hope you’re all well!

That’s really helpful thank you. I’ve got my 12 week on Wednesday so will check in then.

out of interest how long does the 12 week appointment normally take would everyone estimate? Trying to work out what meetings I can accept.

@Len88 Im riddled with fibroids and one of them is causing a firm lump externally which is really weird.

Yes mine too…very odd! But midwife and previous doctors didn’t seem worried about them, hopefully (??) it’s just a bit uncomfortable

spudnik1 · 12/04/2024 13:33

I have my 16-week appointment on Monday next week . I am writing a list of concerns to take with me, as last time I would have loads of questions, but as soon as I walked through the door, everything just dribbled out of my ears !

Now most are quite boring , constipation, occasional sharp stabbing pain which I think is things shifting.

But I found myself in pieces at 2am the other night sobbing on the couch at the thought of going back to the hell hole that is the hospital post natal ward.
For reference, I was in 6 days last time and received no food at all during that time. I am quite anxious about having access to food.
Now I keep telling myself it's just hormones, and I have a plan now.
I am planning on taking a bag full of food.

Now, I am not sure if I should tell the midwife or not.
I am leaning towards not because there is absolutely nothing she can do if things haven't changed. I also won't believe her if she tells me they have changed.

For reference, I am returning to the same hospital as I am at high risk and I can see the hospital from my house. The next nearest hospital would be 45 mins with no traffic.

IsLarryFromSomething · 12/04/2024 13:52

I would tell the midwife about it, just in case. That sounds so rough, how can they justify not feeding you for 6 days??

I had my scan, all looking good! I'm actually 11w3d, which matches exactly when I ovulated, although it's a bit of a letdown to think I was 12 weeks today. Only 4 days off though so that's fine!

I have an anterior placenta and the sonographer said everything looked good but he's having me come back at 16 weeks to get a clearer picture as it's hard with the position of my uterus and how small a 11-12 week baby is.

Very relieved - I burst into tears when they showed the heartbeat!

CluelessInLondon · 12/04/2024 13:52

@Mitsky I was at the hospital for about an hour for my 12 week scan - fortunately didn't have to wait too long for the scan, then had to wait a bit after that to have my bloods done. I think it will be very dependent on how things are on the day though, and whether they're running on time or not.

Joey2011 · 12/04/2024 16:44

Had my dating scan today and it's measuring spot on what I thought I was. I'm 13weeks so have put my due date as 17th October now.
Had a very good look at the baby so was good to see.
She said the nt is at 1.8mm and she said anything lower than 3mm is good. Just waiting for my blood results.
Annoyingly the good photos were while she was checking and not when she went to actually take photos.
Baby behaved although did have to go on my side a couple of times. Was moving well and stretched right out at 1 point 😊

OCTOBER 2024 BABIES :) THREAD 3
rachisamumtobe · 12/04/2024 20:02

@Joey2011 aww look! Your due date is my birthday! I'm 13 weeks today too, my dating scan is on Monday 🥸 my current due date is the 18th October! Wondering if it'll change or stay the same hehe

APSR · 12/04/2024 21:07

Hi there. Have been asked to start aspirin 75mg daily starting 12 weeks. Is this a common medication prescribed for IVF pregnancy?
