@JLT24 @WeightoftheWorld @Joey2011 cant believe there’s so many fellow headache sufferers out there! I can relate to all of you, used to take amytriptyline but had to stop it due to work and the drowsy side effects, then went onto indomethacin which was great but only allowed it for 6m due to potential liver/kidney issues and then couldn’t go onto beta blockers due to TTC. Not sure if any of you have tried sumatriptan but the nasal spray has been life changing and is safe for use during pregnancy, take it at the onset of a migraine and after 10 mins or so you feel much better or can take another later on if it needs a little extra! Hope no one suffers too much during the pregnancy, the midwife told me some people’s headaches go away or get worse during pregnancy so fingers crossed for us all….!

@WickWood thank you!! I'm just in shock at the moment I think xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 16/03/2024 20:23

@journeytomum Twin mum twins haha! ❤️ I'm honestly so in shock I can't get over it. I've been completely wiped out too and nauseous which I wasn't in my first pregnancy - now I know why! 😂 My daughter is 6 so I think she will turn into mother hen hahaha xxx

OneSunnyFox · 16/03/2024 20:30

Congrats @tryforbabynumber2 ! Lovely scan, and what a wonderful surprise!

Jacky86 · 16/03/2024 20:36

She will!! That's a great age for her to get stuck in and help. I think I'll need to grow an extra pair of arms Grin so exciting, big congrats. I am desperate to find out their genders now!! Xxx

lpylou · 16/03/2024 20:41

@Jacky86 congrats on your scan, I was thinking of you yesterday.

@RobynC28 hope you feel better soon and glad the midwife was so reassuring.

@tryforbabynumber2 wow!! What a surprise. How did the sonographer reveal the news?

lpylou · 16/03/2024 20:44

@WickWood really hope you feel better soon.

hopingforapeainapod · 16/03/2024 20:59

Sorry for a bit of a moan but is anyone else also a first time mum and finding the first trimester way more mentally and physically difficult than expected?! I’m only 8 weeks but I am so utterly exhausted (I’m on progesterone which probably doesn’t help with this), I feel constantly hungry / nauseous, struggling with insomnia / having to get up in the night to pee and then also dealing with low-level anxiety as we had been trying for over a year before I fell pregnant. I know all of this is probably completely normal and to be expected, and I’m probably just having a low moment - my husband is away skiing this weekend and I was meant to be at a hen do which I ended up pulling out of last minute because I felt too rubbish and it would have been too difficult to hide, so am just feeling a bit sorry for myself and looking for some solidarity! Xx

tink3rb3ll · 16/03/2024 21:05

@hopingforapeainapod yep, I'm shattered everyday, I've always been the type that struggles to get to sleep but since 5week pregnant that's all changed. Here's hoping to the 2nd trimester.

Nic2908 · 16/03/2024 21:36

@hopingforapeainapod i absolutely remember feeling that way with my first. I felt wiped out was vomiting and nursing during Covid. It all felt relentless. What I will say though is that I’m not sure whether it was that I was more mentally prepared but subsequent pregnancies have so far gotten better each time. I feel great this time (3rd pregnancy) although I really wish that I had some kind of symptom.

tryforbabynumber2 · 16/03/2024 21:38

@OneSunnyFox thank you!! ❤️

@journeytomum Haha we will definitely need extra arms 😂 I can't wait to find out genders either! Do you have any preference? I don't mind as long as they're healthy but one of each would be lovely wouldn't it xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 16/03/2024 21:40

@lpylou thank you! ❤️ She didn't even need to reveal it really, as soon as she started scanning I went "oh my god is that two?!" Because I've seen twin scans before and I could immediately see two sacs 😂 She started laughing and said yes you have got two babies in there with beautiful heartbeats. I immediately started crying, laughing and shaking all at the same time haha xxx

hopingforapeainapod · 16/03/2024 21:41

@tink3rb3ll yup I just need to hold out for this magical second trimester everyone keeps talking about! I’m hoping as my placenta starts to take over as well over the next couple of weeks I will get some relief as well 🤞 I can’t imagine feeling like this for 9 months!

@Nic2908 glad you are feeling good! I think it being my first time round everything feels very new and so I’m hyper-conscious of everything. I’m a teacher as well and work is quite full on at the moment and I’m having to act normal around all my classes / colleagues and finding that really draining too. I think if I was actually being sick I would take time off but because I’m ‘just’ nauseous I’m forcing myself to push through and I just feel so drained.

IsLarryFromSomething · 16/03/2024 22:03

@hopingforapeainapod I'm feeling the same xx We met some friends for lunch today and then I needed a 3 hour nap. I slept through having a snack and felt even worse because of it when I woke up. The list of foods I want gets smaller every day, too.

JLT24 · 16/03/2024 22:37

@hopingforapeainapod i am absolutely exhausted. I have chronic fatigue anyway and now pregnancy tiredness on top. I had to give up working last year due to my health so I guess in a way I’m lucky that I don’t have that added pressure at the moment! I am sleeping 9 hours at night (interrupted) plus two 1-2 hour naps during the day. My baseline of energy has definitely dropped and just praying it gets better soon. Had to cancel going to a party tonight too (not been out at night time in years!)

WickWood · 17/03/2024 00:49

@lpylou Thank you! I spoke to 111 and they've referred me to an urgent care centre so just here now waiting to be seen. I really hope something can help!

Oct24 · 17/03/2024 00:57

@tryforbabynumber2 Sorry - late to the party! Congratulations!! What a lovely little surprise. They do say the older we get the body throws out more eggs at once. Like some of sort of messed up Black Friday sale lol! So amazing! I hope things go smoothly for you. Xx

Oct24 · 17/03/2024 00:57

@WickWood Sorry to hear you're feeling so rotten. Hope urgent care sees you soon and can help. Sending you a massive hug!

Oct24 · 17/03/2024 01:02

I'm 9+4 today. Yesterday was a struggle. We had a wedding to attend. Not super close with the bride and groom but not an invite I could decline without looking rude. Thankfully my husband and the foresight to politely decline the lunch and party afterwards. We barely knew anyone and I was feeling particularly rotten and antisocial.

So while everyone else partied, we went home to eat pizza and watch Below Deck. And it was marvellous! 😂

ttcchapter2 · 17/03/2024 02:44

@tryforbabynumber2 wow! Congratulations!! Did you have any idea at all, like obviously you couldn't know but any odd symptoms? 🙈🙈 i have my 12 week scan this week and I have this odd gut feeling i'm having twins but mainly because its second pregnancy and im already bloody huge!

WickWood · 17/03/2024 02:56

@Oct24 Thank you, I've been given antibiotics and an inhaler, I have a chest infection. Very glad I finally have some treatment!

StarShipEnterprise1 · 17/03/2024 06:28

Hi everyone! Been watching from the sidelines but wanted to say hi now!
I am 10+3 with my first (two!) as found out at 8 weeks we are having fraternal twins! Saw there are a couple of twin Mumma’s starting to post.

Had a miscarriage around 9 weeks end of last year after a messy 9 weeks of pregnancy and so super nervous and anxious like lots of you lovely ladies xx

So sorry to hear about the sickness and tiredness - I’m with you on that, and had an inkling ahead of 8 weeks it might be twins due to that and just a “feeling”!

I was wondering peoples thoughts on NIPT for twins - I’m 39 and so was planning to take the test but now I know it’s twins and that the test can’t give results by twin (only overall) I don’t know what to do! I spoke to someone at the hospital and she strongly advised not to have it before the NHS 12 week/combined test…but she seemed very anti-NIPT and so not sure!
Thanks so much and wishing you all a happy and non-nauseous Sunday x

Bee49 · 17/03/2024 06:32

@hopingforapeainapod not a first time mum but feel exactly how you describe. The first trimester is awful. Mentally I’ve found it even harder with my second. So hard to get excited when you feel so ill.
What I will say though is I felt worst around 8 weeks. I’m 10 weeks now and felt the best I have in about 5 weeks yesterday. Feel like I’m getting my energy back and as long as I eat regularly I don’t feel that sick. There is hope!

mrssunshinexxx · 17/03/2024 06:40

@StarShipEnterprise1 hi and big congratulations! I'm not having any screening and didn't with my daughters I just dont personally see the point. I am 8 weeks today and I NEED to start feeling better soon. Wow this feels the hardest first trimester yet but probs because there's no rest at all.
I darent get on the scales by diet is absolutely awful we've had 2 takeaways this week and I had 2 macdonalds the week before somebody make me want to eat healthy again please
