@WickWood I don't even know why they insist on sending letters in this day and age - they have my phone number and email address, and they have an online system they can load appointments and test results onto that I'm registered for, so there are so many quicker and more efficient ways to contact people than sending out letters!

LuxeBiscuit · 04/04/2024 17:26

@CluelessInLondon I had my dating scan today. They said they'd call within 5 days if there were any concerns. If not, I'd receive a letter in 2 weeks.

It's worth chasing after 2 weeks though.

I hope you enjoyed your holiday!

CosyGreyLion · 04/04/2024 19:57

Hi, I hope everyone is doing well and feeling ok. My sickness seems to of gone which I’m chuffed about. I had my booking in appointment on Tuesday. I will be having extra scans as I’m classed as a high risk pregnancy due to my heath conditions. My first official scan is on the 23rd (the day we go on holiday) I think I will be closer to 13 weeks. My husband is trying to be more supportive and positive about the pregnancy. I guess time will tell if he can keep it up. Xx

Missingpotatocroquettes · 05/04/2024 05:48

It's my scan this morning! Lying here awake because I'm so nervous about it. Wish me luck!

Oct24 · 05/04/2024 05:50

@Missingpotatocroquettes Good luck!! Hope everything goes super smooth and it's all text book!

I'm waiting on my NIPT results. Everything is delayed because of the public holidays. The wait is killing me!

Mine is next Wednesday and I awake at half 4 this morning worrying about it 😭

scottishsunshine96 · 05/04/2024 06:55

Had my 12 week scan on Wednesday- everything was great with baby with a strong heartbeat but sadly they were in the wrong position to be able to get the measurements for the screening and wouldn’t move. They don’t rescan at my Trust so they offered me a different screening at 14 weeks but this only screens for Down’s Syndrome. I was super disappointed as we have had a family member have experience with losing a baby to Edward’s syndrome at 20 weeks so I’ve seen first hand how important these screenings are.
Ended up booking and paying for the NIPT test to give me peace of mind which I had never even considered before, so hopefully will get those results next week. On the plus side, it means we’ll find out the gender next week too which wasn’t expected!

rachisamumtobe · 05/04/2024 08:23

@Missingpotatocroquettes wishing you all the best 😍 hope all goes well xx

Joey2011 · 05/04/2024 08:24

Hey! Happy 12weeks to those that are due 20th October!!

I have my scan next week and looking forward to it putting my mind at ease.
Currently anxious because I'm past where I was last October and we are due to have a scan and then head down to DH parents the same as last time but we had bad news the week prior, so playing on both of our minds.

I'm still feeling sick, getting headaches alot and last night started to feel dizzy at work. Boobs aren't quite as sore. So no reason currently to feel anything is wrong.

I want to do a cute pregnancy reveal to his parents, I've bought a little vest that's says due in October and want to put that in a box with the scan photo. 😊

Work want me to do some cocktail training for our new bar this Sunday. Boss knows I won't be able to try them. Which sucks as would of been so much fun otherwise 😁

Anyone else weighing weekly? For the past 4weeks I've stayed the same weight. Which is really unusual for me. But hoping that i will see an increase next week.

Missingpotatocroquettes · 05/04/2024 11:06

Thank you everyone!! Just got back and everything was perfect! Even measuring ahead by almost a week. So so relieved and I feel like I can relax a little.

rachisamumtobe · 05/04/2024 12:07

@Missingpotatocroquettes very pleased to hear this! Xxx

Seashells4 · 05/04/2024 12:12

So exciting we’re all getting to our 12 week scans!! It’s crazy 💕
ive got my scan on Monday, so nervous but excited to see our little one 😊

rachisamumtobe · 05/04/2024 12:40

@Seashells4 I was nervous too but kept positive, wishing you all the best xxx

WickWood · 05/04/2024 13:33

So pleased everyone is having lovely scans!

I have my gender scan tonight (hopefully, if baby plays ball) feeling excited and nervous.

Still feeling extremely sick, constantly gagging and heaving, just feeling so nauseous. I hoped it would have calmed down by now, at 14+4. My OH is urging me to go to the GP, I think I may have to!

Missingpotatocroquettes · 05/04/2024 14:15

@Joey2011 I haven't been weighing myself but my German doctor kept calling me "skinny cheese" today lol. I know I've lost a little weight but it's been so hard with all the nausea and sickness. I wouldn't think not gaining meant anything at this point though, as I said, I lost and the baby was fine today.

tryforbabynumber2 · 05/04/2024 14:17

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been quiet on here, half term, a 6 year old and a twin pregnancy to contend with haha! We had another private scan today - I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow and there are two happy healthy wriggly babies in there! Xxx

IsLarryFromSomething · 05/04/2024 15:04

So glad for the successful scans!

I'm 11 weeks today and had a few days of feeling better, but now for about 48 hours I have felt really bad with nausea again. We are on holiday with my parents and they are thrilled, my mom reminded me that twins DO run in the family though 🥴 She's adopted so I'm not very familiar with her biological family. I feel like I have a bump already (I have gained weight and it is ALL in my stomach, my body type tends to hold onto weight in my hips so this is really unusual for me) so now I'm wondering how many are in there. My scan is a week from today and I'm just hoping everything is ok.

CluelessInLondon · 05/04/2024 16:11

@Joey2011 I haven't weighed myself since I found out at the end of January - I figure I would just obsess over whether any weight changes were the "right" amount. I've just been trying to maintain a largely normal diet (although I have definitely been eating more carbs than usual 😅).

@Missingpotatocroquettes @tryforbabynumber2 Great news about your scans!

I finally managed to speak to the hospital today about my combined screening results - not sure if they're lost in the post or just caught up in Easter delays, but they were able to tell me that my results were both low risk so that's a big relief. I'm now starting to send some messages telling people, which is nice after keeping it to myself for so long but also makes it feel very real!

tryforbabynumber2 · 05/04/2024 16:18

@CluelessInLondon fab news!! I can't wait to tell people xxx

WickWood · 05/04/2024 17:32

@tryforbabynumber2 How precious!

WickWood · 05/04/2024 21:22

We are having a baby boy! We are both absolutely ecstatic. He is healthy and wriggling away!

cm3212 · 05/04/2024 22:01

Congratulations to you all who have had your scans/results etc ❤️ it's amazing to see!

Sorry for the long post. I haven't posted in a while as had some bleeds that worried me so been quiet in the background.

Has anyone else had regular bleeding? I had an haematoma approx 7weeks and that passed about a week later, I had some spotting after and at 10 weeks I had another scan which showed everything fine & no haematoma.

I then had a heavy bleed at 11 weeks (was like a gush and passed a couple of clots) which stopped, I was seen in early pregnancy unit and they checked my cervix which was fine and closed but they didn't have availability to scan (I had my 12wk booked for a week later anyway)

So fast forward to today (5 days later) .. I had my 12wk scan and baby was fine and baby was moving and heartbeat seen (although wasn't clear due to position so couldn't get measurements). . . They rebooked me for another next week.

Anyway then tonight I've had another heavy bleed. Which has again stopped.

Just wondered if anyone else has any experience of anything like this? It's like every week or so 🤷🏻‍♀️.. they aren't 100% sure what's even causing it, thinking it could just be hormonal. But it's so worrying each time that somethings wrong.

Early pregnancy unit have said as it's stopping to monitor it and call them if it gets worse

Xx

My sister bled every other week throughout her second pregnancy. Anxious pregnancy, easy labour healthy little girl. Turns out there was a problem with her placement of the placenta. Part was attached inside out? Anyway rare but totally harmless so all good in the end but not relaxing for her.

Btowngirl · 06/04/2024 08:57

@cm3212 like @Scarftown my sister also regularly had bleeds of fresh blood throughout her pregnancy. My nephew is going to be 11 in Aug and totally healthy! In addition, a friend had IVF and had such a bad bleed/passed clots she was blue lighted to hospital and the baby was absolutely fine. Totally appreciate it doesn’t mean you won’t worry each time but know that it is also much more common than we think and many healthy babies are born despite bleeds during pregnancy.

cm3212 · 06/04/2024 09:04

@Btowngirl @Scarftown
Thank you both! The 1st one I had, I did panic and was pretty hysterical! Had to then wait for 5 days until the scan but because I had the scan yesterday and I know it was fine the last time, I'm a little more chilled although it is still worrying!

They have said to me, at this stage, if it was a miscarriage, the bleeding wouldn't stop and would be much heavier / would have pain.

🤞🏻🤞🏻 all will be well, I think I'll just get it checked out when lt happens for reassurance xx
