@Trifficult I could have written your post. 10 weeks today, scan on the same date, really want to tell my 5 year old, feel like I’ve been pregnant forever and also soooooo tired. I can’t wait for the pregnancy glow, please tell me it’s soon!

Beck208 · 26/03/2024 20:34

@3littlesunshines can i ask a q with the empowered births? I know birth is unpredictable but im hoping my experience will be much different. Did you just know when to push and how, and let your body do it? I was heavily coached last time and think jt really impacted my experience and am keen to avoid that, but im worried as i didnt have a great experience last time its kinda set the tone for this time already! X

mrssunshinexxx · 26/03/2024 21:37

@Nervous764367 love that there's someone on here that's had a successful vba2c that's my plan this time! Had my booking app today and midwife was super supportive

For myself I just knew it was almost like an unstoppable urge that ever when a midwife told me I couldn't be ready i ignore her and pushed anyway and low and behold my son was born minutes later, when you work with your body it works with you abs you become so in tune with what it is doing, don't let you last experience make u think u can't have a lovely birthing experience this time as u absolutely can 💖 I can't praise hypnobirthing enough buy always remember even without hypnobirthing your in control and can do anything u tell urself u can the power of thought ans your inner voice are incredible tools when used positively 🙂 if you are every looking for some hypnobirthing info am happy to share some free resources and tips and tricks 💖xx

My new favourite thing is waking up each morning and reading all your posts :-) So sorry so many of you (me included!) feel so rubbish. It's so rough and I'm ready for that magic 2nd trimester to start and to start to feel human again.

We had our 11 week scan and NIPT test today. No obvious markers on the scan but still early to see the NT properly and do a risk assessment. So now it's a long week's wait. Probably longer because of Easter ahhhhhhh!

Baby is measuring on the 90th percentile. 5 days ahead. I'm tiny so this is going to be fun towards the end! I'm already showing and wearing maternity clothes. I thought I was just fat but dr has confirmed the baby is a chunk!

ButterflySkies · 27/03/2024 07:27

@3littlesunshines that was lovely to read! That would be amazing if you could, I'm going to look into a course as well so any recommendations would be awesome. I want DH to be fully aware of the plan this time so a course he can see a bit of too would be fab to involve him, one of my biggest memories from birth one is his face! Think his face said what I was thinking so he needs to prep this time too - but he's fully on board for anything that makes it more positive.

Considering a home birth too, I think the midwives are more gentle at home (the midwife change had a huge impact on my labour) and DD was speedy until the pushing stage (5 hours 1cm - 10cm, 3 long hours of coached pushing..!). And hiring a birth pool...

StarShipEnterprise1 · 27/03/2024 08:00

@OneSunnyFox oh wow it sounds like you have had to do some real research into this - well done you for persevering with that and it very sounds promising, I have my fingers tightly crossed for you.

I’m sorry to hear you have been feeling so terrible (and all the others on this thread that have!) I am 11+6 and the past few days I feel like I’ve been having real surges of nausea including in the middle of the night. I’m hoping that it’s to do with the placentas taking over - but maybe that’s wishful thinking!

We went ahead with the NIPT and have received a low probability result … I was very worried due to my age and having twins. We have also found out that there is Y chromosome present… which means we have at least one baby boy!! A bit of a wait now to find out if he has a brother or sister but I really don’t mind either way!

Good luck to those with scans this week xx

OneSunnyFox · 27/03/2024 08:06

Congratulations @StarShipEnterprise1 that’s such wonderful news!!!! So so pleased for you!

Joey2011 · 27/03/2024 08:59

Morning! So walk in wanted me to head to a&e last night just to get checked. It was kinda pointless as they only asked me for a urine sample to make sure there wasn't any blood or protein and sent me on my way! After giving me advice of using ibuprofen gel and deep heat. Looked into deep heat and NHS says its a big no to use 😯 and I know ibuprofen is anyways.

Just a bit stiff and sore today. Fortunately I have a finish time at work tonight so won't be a late 1.

WeightoftheWorld · 27/03/2024 10:21

@Oct24 I've had to admit defeat and get the maternity clothes out the loft now but only really for bras. I was falling out my bra yesterday and it was actually hurting me and I thought this is ridiculous lol so sent DH up to get my old bigger ones out and so much more comfortable today although it's a bit big. I'm still doing ok with my normal clothes, the looser ones. Just a lot of my trousers are a no go so far so mostly wearing leggings with long baggy t-shirts and things!

Oct24 · 27/03/2024 10:28

@WeightoftheWorld admit defeat and come join me on the dark side. It's so much more comfortable over here 🤣🤣. I'm the same, leggings, baggy t-shirts or my maternity tops around the house but I need to wear something a little smarter and inconspicuous when I leave the house. I have a few floaty dresses which seems to be hiding the bump so far. Can't wait to be (letting it all hang) out and proud.

Oct24 · 27/03/2024 10:32

Hope you're okay @Joey2011. When is your next scan booked for? Nerve wracking for you!

Can you call the midwife team and speak to someone to get some advice on painkillers?

Sunandsea13 · 27/03/2024 10:33

Hi everyone! Had a scan yesterday at 10+4 and measuring exactly on schedule! Baby has grown so much! Also did my NIPT test so in for a long wait with the bank holidays!

Sickness has reduced which is good! Hope everyone is doing well xx

Oct24 · 27/03/2024 10:34

@Sunandsea13 great news! I did my
NIPT test today too. Fingers crossed the bank holiday don't delay things too much for either of us!

Sunandsea13 · 27/03/2024 10:36

@Oct24 that’s great! Hopefully we get the results soon! May find the lab works the bank holidays to process everything anyway!

Fullofconfusion · 27/03/2024 11:09

Argh I’ve woken up absolutely stuffed with cold today. Does anyone know what you can take? I feel like I could do with some decongestants as my nose is painful but I know the some of the nasal sprays are a no no.

Joey2011 · 27/03/2024 11:29

@Oct24 my scan is booked for 12th April. Cant wait for it and hoping everything is still ok. Cant wait to tell everyone 😊
I'm coping alright without any pain relief atm I'm just a bit stiff and sore.
If it gets worse I'll speak to someone. But still I have no contact number for my midwife and she only works on a Monday 😕

SELE97 · 27/03/2024 11:31

@Fullofconfusion I had a horrendous cold 2 weeks ago that is still lingering a bit now. I was really struggling to breathe or drink or eat because I was that congested. I just took paracetamol when I had a bit of a fever and headache, drank hot water with honey and lemon, used a lot of vapor rub, and found that warm baths and steamy showers opened up my airways and made me feel a lot better. I hope you feel better soon!

OneSunnyFox · 27/03/2024 11:38

@Fullofconfusion i had multiple bad colds over a period of 6 weeks, and like SELE97 I took paracetamol when things got bad, lots of hot water with lemon and honey.

Instead of my usual dose of 2 pills of paracetamol I took just one and took as sparingly as I could. I also took bed rest and did have day off work when really bad which did help with recovery.

I hope you feel better soon!

SELE97 · 27/03/2024 12:00

Anyone else incredibly bloated and has been since the start? I kind of like it tbh, I don't really have any symptoms apart from the bloating and mildly sore boobs so even though I know it's only bloating it makes me think something is actually in there and reminds me I am actually pregnant😂

@Fullofconfusion i used my daughters saline nose spray recently, it isnt as good as a decongestant but it did make me feel like i could breathe/unclog round my eyes :)

Mitsky · 27/03/2024 13:26

LuxeBiscuit · 26/03/2024 18:15

@Mitsky good news about your scan. You had a work Fri if I remember correctly. Did you decide to cancel?

I did! I was meant to go to china and am incredibly glad I didn’t go. I told the trip organiser and she banned me from attending in the kindest way.

spudnik1 · 27/03/2024 13:47

@ButterflySkies been using saline nose spray all the time. Helps with the nosebleeds

LuxeBiscuit · 27/03/2024 14:49

@Mitsky oh I'm glad! Also, no idea what I typed - it should have said work trip but at least you knew what I was saying lol
