@CreatednLoved me too! Unless at my first scan it might have changed! It's the day after my birthday 🎈

CosyGreyLion · 24/03/2024 11:53

I think as long as you are managing to drink something then it’s better than nothing. I’ve just had a hot chocolate but even that didn’t taste right. I don’t remember ever having this with my previous pregnancies but then my last one was over 12 years ago now. I’m just so tired all the time as well but having older children means they don’t rely on me as much. I’m so anxious about my next scan incase the heartbeat isn’t there. I keep telling myself that the fact I have all the symptoms has surely got to be a good thing xx

Missingpotatocroquettes · 24/03/2024 12:08

@IsLarryFromSomething I've been struggling to drink enough too but also feeling really dehydrated too. I just really hate the taste of water right now, plus I've gone off coffee too. Weirdly, I don't have a problem drinking sparkling water so that's what I've been doing. And diet pepsi but obviously got to watch the caffeine.

Oh my god, this is exactly me. Can't drink coffee or tea, or plain water. Living on sparkling water, fizzy ribena or lemonade. And it has to be room temperature! So weird. Also struggling to get enough fluid in but I feel more sick if I drink loads so trying to sip little and often

I'm near you two, 16th based off LMP but my scan is in a few weeks so we will see. DC2's birthday is 15th so Im so really hoping that DC3 is born a little early or late, ideally not in the same week! October is such an expensive and busy month for us as a family as we already have 4 family birthdays there and soon to be 5!

IsLarryFromSomething · 24/03/2024 14:22

Add mango Rubicon to the list of things I can drink, haha. I agree, it can't be too cold or it makes me feel sicker.

Feeling like a bit of a wimp. Always sick, always tired, it's very out of character for me and I don't feel like myself.

WeightoftheWorld · 24/03/2024 15:14

@IsLarryFromSomething I'm the opposite of you all, I have to have fluids super cold to drink them atm! Ice and a straw, otherwise I feel so sick! So interesting how everyone has different aversions and triggers isn't it?!

Btowngirl · 24/03/2024 15:16

Wow sickness has really come for me today. Been projectile since 4am, unable to keep any food or fluids down. Feeling very sorry for myself and thinking how the hell can baby be getting all they need!

TeainanIV · 24/03/2024 16:02

Hello all! I've missed the previous threads but wanted to jump on here! ☺️

I'm currently just over 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd - due date at the moment around 14th Oct but thinking it could change after dating scan! Is anyone else struggling with the worst taste in their mouth!? I know a metallic taste is common but I'm not even sure how to describe this - it reminds me of the taste you have after a heavy night of drinking 🙈!! Nausea is horrendous too, so much worse than I remember it with my first! I'm struggling to eat anything other than toast and cheese - can't see baby getting much which is stressing me.

I just want to get to that first scan and know they're okay 🙏🏼, my mind keeps going to the worst outcome (hello anxiety brain!!). Sending love and solidarity to you all and hoping everyone is having restful weekends!

WickWood · 24/03/2024 16:31

@TeainanIV Welcome and congratulations! I think I have the same taste as you, I wouldn't necessarily call it metallic and its so hard to describe but it's awful! I'm currently drinking full fat coke and it's making it so much worse!

As long as you're eating something and drinking the baby will be getting enough. I was worried I wasn't eating/drinking enough when I was unwell with a chest infection but the midwife I spoke to assured me that the baby would be fine, as long as managing fluids.

TeainanIV · 24/03/2024 16:41

@WickWood thank you for your reply! Yes sounds very similar, awful isn't it!? Makes the nausea even worse 😫. I'm finding I'm able to drink more fizzy drinks than anything else, but even then the taste lingers. That's really reassuring to hear your midwife's advice - and I hope you're fully recovered from your chest infection 🥰. Roll on 2nd trimester - I'm so sick of feeling nauseous, exhausted and unable to stomach a thing!!

rachisamumtobe · 24/03/2024 16:51

@TeainanIV I don't have the weird taste but I am exhausted and feel so sick or hungry most of the time. Horrible! I'm just over 10 weeks too xx I'm also anxious for my first scan as have to wait til 15th April xxx

TeainanIV · 24/03/2024 16:52

@rachisamumtobe sending solidarity! I can completely relate - feeling very similar! Our scans are similar too, mine is the 11th April and it can't come soon enough!! Xxx

Trifficult · 24/03/2024 17:27

@TeainanIV totally agree that feels way worse this time round. I'm sure I didn't have this level of nausea / exhaustion / constipation with my son.

rachisamumtobe · 24/03/2024 17:30

@TeainanIV thank you so much, the nausea is horrible isn't it? I've even gone off my ginger sweets now, I find mints helpful and lemon and ginger tea xx

TeainanIV · 24/03/2024 17:31

@Trifficult I definitely wasn't like this with my daughter - I had to get my husband to confirm as I was worried I was looking back with rose-tinted glasses 😅 but he doesn't remember me being this ill either! Fingers crossed it passes quickly for us all!

Joey2011 · 24/03/2024 19:27

Has anyone else gotten toothache? My 1 tooth has been so painful since the middle of last night. Paracetamol fortunately has helped but only for about 2hours 😩 and then it's throbbing again. Might ring the dentist tomorrow and get it checked out.

WickWood · 24/03/2024 19:34

@Joey2011 I think they say during pregnancy gums can bleed and change, thats why pregnancy dental care is free. Hope it feels better soon!

Scarftown · 24/03/2024 19:49

Oh yes the weird taste is the worst symptom for me. I can manage my waves of nausea by eating but everything g I eat tastes horrible and makes me feel worst. I didn't have this with my first pregnancy. It's horrible. My scams 11th I hope it's peaked by then as I can't stick this out for the whole of pregnancy

LuxeBiscuit · 24/03/2024 20:09

@Btowngirl my understanding is that baby takes nutrients from your stored reserves in the first trimester if you're struggling to eat much. So baby is fine but you'll suffer!

I feel very strange because my symptoms went around 10 weeks so I feel back to normal, which is slightly worrying.

CreatednLoved · 24/03/2024 20:45

Any other tips for nausea and bloatedness that just won’t go away? Have been trying 6 small meals instead of 3, ginger of all sorts, and just got some meds from the GP. Meds help but only for 1-2 hours.

also really upset that I’ve spent the day feeling nauseous and tired, and didn’t manage to go to church to listen to God’s word today or to meet church family ): how do others deal with the tiredness?

CosyGreyLion · 24/03/2024 20:47

So, a bit random but I have just been sitting on the sofa minding my own business with no bra on and I felt something wet on my top. Looked down and it is from my nipple 😳 never had it this early on before haha

LuxeBiscuit · 24/03/2024 21:04

@CreatednLoved I mentioned previously that sickness bands helped my nausea. Not completely but it took the edge off.

Oct24 · 25/03/2024 00:18

Welcome @TeainanIV! Im due the16th! Weird taste over here too. Like I've not cleaned my teeth for a week. Every morning after I clean my teeth I then spend 5mins heaving into the sink. It's gross and I'm over it.

Where I live, winter is over. Yesterday I was in shorts and t-shirt. I thought stuff it and wore my maternity clothes so I would be more comfortable. My nosey neighbour clocked it and yelled "oh you're having another baby! Congratulations." I yelled back "Shhh! It's a secret! I'm too early to be telling people. It's still maybe-baby. I'm just fat!" Hahahaha

LiviaX · 25/03/2024 00:50

@rachisamumtobe my little one is due day after my own birthday too. Sod’s Law they’ll arrive that day
