I got some George maternity clothes - love the tops, really comfy, but the waistband on the leggings is SO tight. The bit on the bump is fine, but the waistband above it is literally cutting into my stomach/diaphragm (I don’t know what’s where in my insides anymore). I’m normally a size 12 and got the medium, which is meant to be 12-14, and everywhere else they fit perfectly.

Does anyone know any leggings that don’t cut you in half above the bump??

I bought some Lululemon Aligns yesterday and they are so comfortable! Expensive, but worth it. I’m usually a size 10 and the 10 did fit but I sized up to the 12 for growing room. I have heard they stretch well with pregnancy so I’m hoping they will see me through.

rupertbear91 · 24/03/2024 14:32

I second the lululemon aligns I already had a pair and they are my only non maternity clothes that fit me now

lpylou · 24/03/2024 15:19

@SC126 congrats!! Also have a second boy incoming here. Being a boy mum is so special.

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 16:12

@Cinai I'm also 40 and have health conditions so have started on aspirin as per consultant advice. Pretty standard I believe and does help with pre eclampsia and clotting.
I will also be having the glucose test but haven't been told when

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 16:16

@Lillers I purchased the M&S maternity ones and they have the same issue! The leggings and bump bit are nice (got a 12 as usually a 12) but the bit that goes up to my boobs (I'm short) is TIGHT! Was tempted to cut the elastic 😅

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 16:21

Leggings I am enjoying are the lululemon dupes (as I refuse to pay so much 😅.)

Crzy yoga butterluxe maternity leggings. £31 and so so soft and comfy! I've had the non maternity ones for about a year and live in them. But bobbly now but for the price I'm happy

You can get them on amazon or on their website

BadLobster · 24/03/2024 17:14

I bought some River Island maternity leggings and they’re great. I bought a 12, which is my normal size, and my bump’s not quite big enough to hold them up yet, but they’re very comfy. I got them in the ASOS sale so they were also a total barg.

We finished preparing the garden for the spring/summer. We planted 3 new plants, sowed new grass, fed it. I finished weeding both the back and the front. We removed an ivy tree that was eating away the trellis, repaired the trellis . I have spent 4 hours bent over and squatting and my back is now VERY tired!!!
I spoke to my friend, I described her the occasional feelings I had been having in my belly and she said those are def baby movements, but that would also mean that I felt them very early?? Week 15!! That is not common with first pregnancies afaik.

Spouse was convinced he was hearing the baby’s heartbeat when he was cuddling the belly yesterday. I am a bit sceptical about it tbh.

@Cinai I am also on aspirin due to low Papp-a.

@SC126 full moon in the afternoon!! 🌕😂 congrats!

SC126 · 24/03/2024 18:01

@Xur feeling movements could be possible at 15 weeks. Depending where your placenta is too. I got told that I have another anterior placenta this time so I know not to expect movements for awhile

MudandMoet · 24/03/2024 18:07

Girls girls girls!! When is this second trimester glow going to kick in?? I'm usually such an active person (not in the gym sense) I've become a couch potato these last few weeks. I mean, the weather like it is today, I'd normally be outside pottering (@Xur I'm jealous you've done so much) but apart from a quick nip to Chatsworth this morning for brekkie and farm shop I've done sweet fuck all and even had a nap... again!! Doesn't help because DH loves sofa time and I think I normally do his head in being on the go constantly. Please someone tell me I've not got another 22/23 weeks of being like this.

Starlight11111 · 24/03/2024 18:28

Hi all! I've been quiet on here as had nothing to report but really enjoy checking in on this thread to catch up daily! I thought I'd check if anyone else is having the same cramps / pangs of pain that were common for a lot of us in very early pregnancy? I assume around 15 weeks this is probably ligament pain or just growing pains but its frequency has taken me by surprise this weekend, it feels like it did at 5/6 weeks!

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 19:23

@MudandMoet I'm knackered 😴 I feel hungover tired today! All I've done is eaten and sat on the sofa. I try and walk each day but don't manage it. Like you I was previously active

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 19:24

@Nic17 yes I'm having period type pains again.. not all day but comes and go.
My nausea seems to have returned in the last few days too

Xur · 24/03/2024 19:24

@Nic17 yeah, but I’m used to it now.

@MudandMoet to be honest, I am mega knackered and I just pushed myself to get over with it , because in 10 days my mum is coming to visit us from abroad and she’s a farmer. I rather endure this now than be told off for not having the garden done when it should be (she’s very familiar with the seasons and what needs to be done when) In British weather the garden basically needs to be ready now and this is the last time in this season to introduce new plants to the landscape.
next weekend I need to clean the house and jet wash the porch, patio so I wouldn’t have the time for this if not now 😂

MudandMoet · 24/03/2024 19:51

@WinsandSam so glad it isn't just me. I'm also the same with the nausea again from time to time... it typically stops when I eat, not great when I'm barely doing anything.

@Xur ahhh I get it! No wonder you're going at it to get it all done and ready. How exciting, how long is your ma staying over for?

SC126 · 24/03/2024 12:30

After all the girl guesses online turns out I’m joining the boy crew. My DS is so happy to be getting a little brother.

Hoping this is me next weekend!! All I've had is girl guesses!! Did you do early glimpse or just nub theory

WinsandSam · 24/03/2024 20:20

@MudandMoet yep, eating is the only thing that stops it. I just cried for ages as so tired and dropped a perfume bottle on the bathroom sink. Smashed a big hole in it 😭 today is a write off and I'm going to bed

Starlight11111 · 24/03/2024 20:23

@WinsandSam @Xur thank you ladies, nice to know it's totally normal xx

Just nub theory. Clearly the nub was just hiding. I’m a bit disappointed I won’t get to enjoy Disney princesses and Barbies as I’m certainly having no more after this one but I love being a boy mum now so another boy is still lovely. My son is a proper mummy’s boy which I love. The only issue is we have no boys names we love this time so that’s going to fun to decide.

Xur · 24/03/2024 21:04

@MudandMoet just an extended weekend, arrives Thursday night and leaving Monday afternoon.

@SC126 you know how it usually is, one is a nice, chilled out kid and the other one is devil incarnate 😂

I had all girl on nub theory and 98% confidence girl on early glimpse. I already have a daughter who has just turned 20! Huge age gap! Would just really like a boy as I am 38 and don't know if I will have any more or not. But either way it's going to be so different this time round, as I was so young before and am with someone now who I love and it's his first :) xx

Emmaev · 24/03/2024 21:55

I feel like the only person who doesn’t know the gender haha. Although we don’t care which we have, would be nice to know. 17 weeks tomorrow so hoping the 20 week scan comes sooner rather than later.

Finally got a consultant appointment through for when I’m 22 weeks, meant to have it at 14 weeks but better late than never. What do they discuss during these appointments? I’m consultant led due to pre eclampsia and premature birth in previous pregnancy

WolfMother326 · 24/03/2024 22:24

Hi all. Not doing very well mentally. I posted yesterday about not sending my boy to nursery because of exposure there to slapped cheek syndrome, which can cause miscarriage if adult women contract it between 9-20 weeks. I decided to keep him home and take time off work to minimise the risk but now I've got a sore throat and achy muscles which is a symptom. I'm just feeling worried and miserable. We just told all our friends and family about the baby. I'm really attached (obviously) and just so worried. I think I'll call my midwife and gp tomorrow morning and request a blood test.

Lillers · 25/03/2024 05:42

@Emmaev I don’t know what I’m having yet either, and won’t know until my 20 week scan which isn’t until 10th May, so a long time to wait yet! I’ve been tempted to book an earlier private scan but husband is set against it, so I’ll wait impatiently!

@@WolfMother326 I’m sorry you’re worried about it - remember there are a million illnesses going round at the moment that can cause those symptoms, and even if it is slapped cheek, the miscarriage risk is still low. Definitely get confirmation so you know what to do next, but try not to think of the worst any more than you have to. I really hope it’s just a cold!

@Emmaev we don't know either. But we aren't fining out (hopefully) can never tell what you accidentally see at scan. Lol.
