Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

My last period was Feb 2nd which I think would make me due in Nov too 😊 I took a test a few days ago (period a few days late) and the line was faint, took another this morning (first wee) and it’s so strong! Is this usual? I’m worried I’m having twins or something.

Welcome! My last period was also the 2nd so we'd be the same timings. I've attached the last test I did (Tuesday) as by then my lines were pretty dark too. Nothing to worry about and only 1 sac for me!

@1yearplan - ouch, that sounds sore! Don't worry about baby though - I've heard your uterus is like a peanut butter sandwich in which the embryo burrows in and soon develops their little amniotic sac, so super padded.

shohopeful · 08/03/2024 15:25

@1yearplan don't worry they'll be absolutely grand in there. All comfy xxx

Hi all, can I tentatively join please?

Nice to see some familiar faces (names) from the TTC threads!

Just had my BFP at midday today, only 9/10 DPO.

My wife and I are both female, we have gone down the artificial insemination route and this is cycle 2 and I can't quite believe it's happened.

My period is due on Wed so still very early but wanted to join you. Currently waiting on DW coming home from work so I can tell her the news and maybe do a digital!

According to NHS website my EDD is 20th November 🤩

@CadoAvo congratulations and welcome! Two great lines there! Xx

@shohopeful The exact same has happened to me. I woke up in the middle of the night with really bad cramping. I think it must be the uterus stretching

shohopeful · 08/03/2024 16:04

@Figtree11 yes I so hope so! Is yours better in the day? Mine doesn't seem to bother me too much unless I'm laying/sitting still for a long time? @piechipsgravy recommended prunes for bowel movements. That's definitely helped! Xx

@shohopeful yes I’ve had no issues in the day either! Wonder whether it’s when you’re at your most relaxed for some reason. I’ve not had a hint of spotting fingers crossed, so trying to think positively that my body is doing what it needs to do by expanding/ bedding in

shohopeful · 08/03/2024 16:55

@Figtree11 it's an eternity isn't it. 3 weeks today is my first scan and I'm just desperate to get to that point!! Do you have an early scan booked? Xx

OP posts:
Figtree11 · 08/03/2024 16:59

@shohopeful I’ve not, no. I’m a bit traumatised from my last private scan where I found out I’d had a MMC. Back then the EPU had said I could have a scan at 8wks. But me & DP are unsure whether to go for it if things carry on ok, or to just bury our heads in the sand! Maybe I’ll change my mind in a few weeks!

How many weeks are you?

shohopeful · 08/03/2024 17:03

@Figtree11 I totally get that. I was in hospital with a threatened miscarriage over new year and couldn't get in to EPU so it was a private scan that confirmed everything the same day of my actual MC in Jan. but I've decided to go back to the same person because she was so so lovely to me and we just really needed that. You don't need to make any decisions just now. We're 5 weeks today, what about you? Xx

Figtree11 · 08/03/2024 17:30

@shohopeful sorry that you had a similar experience too. It doesn't feel real at the moment, so maybe in a couple of weeks I might change my mind about the scan.
I’m not 100% sure as I had a late cycle & not sure when I ovulated, but I think maybe 4 to 4 1/2 weeks

shohopeful · 08/03/2024 17:37

@Figtree11 I'm the same, I'm worried I get too attached or excited. But tbh I am too tired to feel any of those things anyway! Xxx

Should I be worried that my lines seem to be stronger in the evening...?

Mine are stronger this evening than they were this morning, but I think that sometimes happened in my first two pregnancies. With my first I tested positive at about 10pm and didn't realise that I was supposed to test at any particular time of day!

Jellybelly888 · 08/03/2024 19:45

@CadoAvo congratulations! They are great first lines 🥰

HerbaceousPerennial · 08/03/2024 19:55

Hi all, can I join? Think I’m about 5 weeks but I have PCOS so last period was actually mid January and having to take an educated guess based on when I’ve been testing! MMC in October so another one feeling a bit anxious about how this is going to go…

Figtree11 · 08/03/2024 20:06

Hi @HerbaceousPerennial congrats! I also had my last period in mid Jan, due to long cycles after MC in November. I’m trying to guesstimate how many weeks I am - when is it you first tested positive?

CadoAvo · 08/03/2024 20:36

Thanks all. Told my partner when she got home and she is soooo shocked and excited. Then we did a digital and got the official confirmation....I can't believe it's finally happening 🤩

Now...what pregnancy vitamins should I be taking?

Folic acid and vitamin D are the important ones, but ideally buy something like Pregnacare. Xx

Sparksi · 08/03/2024 20:39

I’m really worried my lines aren’t progressing? I know this is irrational to be so worried… I’m 10dpo and tests are in order top = 8dpo
middle = 9dpo
bottom = 10dpo

Does it look ok? My eyes can’t tell if 9dpo and 10dpo look identical or if todays is darker!

I think these look like great lines and clear profession! Your 10 dpo isn't far off my 14 dpo test.

Thank you so much, I think sometimes I can stare at something for too long and worry myself! I wouldn’t be testing so obsessively if I hadn’t had a loss before :( I don’t think the anxiety will properly settle until after the scans x

I'm taking Proceive Trimester 1. The tablets are absolutely enormous but they had good reviews!

I am going to a work conference overseas next week and it's usually very boozy - any ideas as to how I can disguise the fact I'm not drinking?! My colleagues will all guess immediately if I make it too obvious I'm staying sober...
