Baby due Nov 2024

Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

@Figtree11 thanks! Tested positive 1st March and was negative 28th Feb so it’s a pretty small window and I’ve just assumed I was 4 weeks when I got the positive for simplicity’s sake. Could be a wee bit less though of course. I’ve had a raging thirst with all three pregnancies and that had started a few days before hence the close tests

@Sparksi looks like good line progression to me - but even if it hadn’t been it doesn’t mean there’s anything to worry about. It’s so tough after a loss though!

@piechipsgravy @CadoAvo I’ve just got my plain old folic acid, vit D and vit C (government issue from my last pregnancy!)

Figtree11 · 08/03/2024 21:47

Thanks @HerbaceousPerennial i got a faint positive on the 2nd march, and then an obvious positive on the 3rd. I wasn’t sure how many weeks to class myself as so will go with maybe 4 1/2 to 5 weeks!

I am going to a work conference overseas next week and it's usually very boozy - any ideas as to how I can disguise the fact I'm not drinking?! My colleagues will all guess immediately if I make it too obvious I'm staying sober...

Tbh I just tell people if it comes up . You could say you're on a health kick and therefore only having one and then nurse that one all evening before putting it down somewhere.

Meatballsandpasta · 09/03/2024 03:22

@CadoAvo another vote here for Proceive. They have different pills for the three trimesters so you can be more certain you're getting what you need. And they have methylfolate (more easily absorbed form of folic acid). Not everyone can properly convert folic acid into methylfolate so Proceive takes care of that middle step. I took their "conception" supplement sachets too.

Also if you have trouble swallowing large pills, Proceive specifically states you can open them up and sprinkle on food. So that's a major win for me.

muddlingthrou · 09/03/2024 07:32

Had a tiny bit of spotting last night at 5 weeks 2 days. Just a few spots and enough to show when I wiped. Coupled with stomach cramps, I'm a bit worried...

I looked back at my tracking app from my last pregnancy, and I spotted at 5 weeks 4 days, so hoping that's just normal for me as the embryo burrows in nice and deep. Can't help but worry though!

shohopeful · 09/03/2024 07:41

Hi @muddlingthrou spotting is super normal in trimester 1, so are cramps, so try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Keep an eye and rest up today. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean xxx

@Meatballsandpasta thank you this is really good to know, I shall go look them up!

Has anyone downloaded a pregnancy tracker app they can recommend? I downloaded a few last night but wasn't really taken by any of them. Want one where I can easily log my symptoms as well as see daily/weekly updates about the baby.

I use Flo xx last time used Ovia but wasn’t impressed x

CadoAvo · 09/03/2024 09:03

@DaringlyDizzy yes Ovia was one of the ones I downloaded last night and wasn't enthralled by it.

I'll have a look at Flo.

GiantRoadPuzzle · 09/03/2024 09:17

I quite like Sprout, I used it in my last pregnancy too.

muddlingthrou · 09/03/2024 09:30

@shohopeful - thank you, that is reassuring. It has stopped now so hoping that'll be it for at least a while 🤞🏽 my boobs are super sore and feeling bits of nausea here and there so reminding myself I still have symptoms.

@CadoAvo - another vote for Flo here too! It's got the best symptom tracking in my opinion.

CadoAvo · 09/03/2024 09:33

Great I'll look into Sprout thanks @GiantRoadPuzzle

Another question from me (sorry in advance as I'll probably have many many questions over the next 9 months)...tomorrow we are going out for Mother's Day lunch with MIL. We had to preorder what we wanted and I ordered chicken pate with oatcakes for the starter. I'm not supposed to eat this now am I? I've emailed the restaurant asking to change it to Bruschetta but not sure if they'll get back to me in time. I don't want MIL to cotton on...she knows vaguely we were TTC but we don't want to tell her until we have an early scan. I'll try and have a quiet word with the staff but what happens if they serve me the pate? Would I be okay eating it? I'm so early I technically haven't missed my period yet 😅

muddlingthrou · 09/03/2024 10:00

@CadoAvo - I would avoid pâté if possible. Although the risk of listeria is small, it isn't worth it. I recommend Emily Ostler's book 'expecting better' for a stats based approach to assessing all the risks around pregnancy.

Re keeping it from your MIL - can you give the restaurant a call today? Or maybe your DH can discreetly swap starters with you (assuming he's not ordered the same)?

Meatballsandpasta · 09/03/2024 10:37

@CadoAvo I love Ovia for symptoms tracking but I also like Preglife - it is split into Baby/Mother/Partner news which is quite nice.

Kinsters · 09/03/2024 11:12

I would just eat the pate personally. At this early stage the baby doesn't have a placenta for anything to cross over into. But I say that as someone whose already got 2 kids and miscarries frequently for no discernable reason. If it was my first pregnancy I'd have been more cautious definitely.

Don't eat it if it's going to stress you out though.

babycandy · 09/03/2024 11:32

Old mama here! Think I’m due around the 20th November.

congrats everyone!

im 40 at the end of this month so im a little scared of miscarrying.

shohopeful · 09/03/2024 12:59

Congratulations @babycandy and everything crossed for a sticky bean! Xxx

Hi everyone! Found out a few days we are hopefully going to be welcoming a baby this November. This will be our second as we had DD in 2020 and still getting my head around the fact we have conceived easily but praying it all continues well and this little bean is here to stay. I should be due sometime around 14th to 18th, depending on my cycle length which isn't consistent.

Congratulations to everyone! And hope everything is progressing well for everyone else

JL1989 · 09/03/2024 15:55

Hi ladies!

Tentatively joining, got my positive early this morning. My first pregnancy ended in a second trimester TFMR last May, followed by an MMC in October so really hoping this is third time lucky for me 💜

CadoAvo · 09/03/2024 18:49

Hello to all the fellow newbies 👋🏼

@JL1989 oh that is a rough journey, hope it's a sticky healthy one for you.

I've managed to get through to the restaurant for tomorrow and change my starter. I will miss pate but luckily will not be pregnant by the time the festive season rolls around so I'll eat it till my hearts content then 🤣

It's been a whole day since my BFP. Hasn't really sunk and we are getting so excited. Just hope that the baby wants to stick around!

I want to book an early scan for around 8 weeks, not sure if I should book it now or wait a few more weeks?

omghavingababy · 09/03/2024 18:57

Please can I join?
Congrats everyone on your BFP's. Cant believe it's "THIS YEAR"
My app tells me 4+2 today, and due date 14th November

Thank you @Meatballsandpasta for directing me to this thread as I was on a dormant one looking for other November 2024 babes ...and now I've found you all! Yay

This is my 2nd pregnancy, my daughter starts school this September and is nearly 4!! But I found my "due date buddies" with my daughter on mumsnet before which eventually got set up as a Facebook group which became such a great lifeline, we were all due same month and it was only allowed to be people from the mumsnet thread on it. It's so nice to keep small ish and close knit and eventually get to "know" each other and even now my old due date group from 2020 is still going now!

I've just spent my night catching up with all the so far 244 messages on here 🤣
@piechipsgravy - do you still have cramps? I have had cramps literally from 3DPO constant, all day sometimes just dormant but not uncomfortable but sometimes can be stabbing pains. I'm so pleased you got yours checked out for piece of mind, everything seems positive and normal but I'm annoyed for you that they lumped that bombshell, that's so unfair as I feel like it's taken off the excitement of your pregnancy. Like everyone else said deffo seek a 2nd opinion but embrace this pregnancy and enjoy it, sending lots of love

@hicketypickety I had molar pregnancy too!! I feel your pain immediately. It's so unusual to find someone that has had it. Mine was only partial sorry that yours was complete - it seems you got signed off pretty quickly, considering - same timings as me really 8 months....those months are long though and tortuous going for weekly bloods and stressing about a HCG rise etc etc
I had my molar in 2019, but then went on to have my daughter in 2020. I was entitled to a scan at 6 weeks on the NHS due to the molar - I'm unsure if they'll do it now for me being my 2nd but I'm going to ask anyway. Maybe you can too?

@RoseannesMamma and @Butterfly134 I think you guys only posted once or twice but I noted your names as I had hyperemesis too!!!
Are you guys dreading having it again? Honestly im terrified I remember having it early early on before but can't remember exactly
I am not nauseous...yet. Long may it continue! I'm trying to keep in a positive mindset that it won't happen to me again - I puked 10 times a day, EVERY day until the very end! I had numerous hospital trips to be put on drips as I wasn't keeping anything down

@1yearplan a pregnant bride!!! And a huge life change on the cards , SO SO

Lots of things happening at once I'm so excited for you

Sorry for long post and well done if you've made it to the end of this essay
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 9 months xx

Loz365 · 09/03/2024 19:10

Welcome to all the new joiners! So nice to see our little group growing 😊

We've got friends visiting this weekend and it's been so hard not to say anything, we're trying to wait until our scan at 7 weeks before we tell anyone but I reckon they'll have guessed as I keep turning down the wine 😅

Jellybelly888 · 09/03/2024 19:15

Anyone else chronically tired? I really don’t remember being this tired with my DS but I was in my 20s then, I’m now 36. It gets to 4pm and bam! The tiredness hits and I yawn until I go to bed.

AccountingMummy · 09/03/2024 19:16

Yes!! So tired!! But I don't know if it is in my head, if I didn't know I was pregnant, would I have spotted tiredness as a symptom. I don't know... but I did have to lie down at 4pm today like you said! Presumably this is just the start 🤣

piechipsgravy · 09/03/2024 19:42

Welcome @omghavingababy glad you found us here!

My period like cramping has definitely eased in the last few days. Still getting the weird pokey sensation by my right ovary every now and then but am also getting an increase in stabbing pains every time I stand up suddenly! It seems to fit the bill for round ligament pain but seems early. I'm not worrying about it- mainly because I'm being scanned in just over a week anyway- but it's very annoying.
