Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

@Loz365 It must vary, I just had to fill out a referral form and email it to my chosen team, I didn't have to wait a certain amount of time, a few days later they sent me my dates for my booking appointment and 12 week scan

@1yearplan congratulations on the wedding, I'm getting married in June, my first scan is the 22nd of April so I'm hoping to be able to get away with not telling people, but if the start trying to arrange a cocktail night for the hen I may have to!

piechipsgravy · 07/03/2024 09:17

@Loz365 congrats on the wedding! That is so exciting- I got married in December and I'd definitely say delegate as much as you possibly can to minimise stress. Having a group of friends who know could really help with being able to get them to do a lot of stuff to help you be as rested as possible!

Kinsters · 07/03/2024 09:32

@1yearplan oo where are you moving too? I live in SE Asia!

Noooooogsh · 07/03/2024 09:35

Morning all and welcome to everyone new!

I filled out badger notes at the weekend then I had a call yesterday from the midwife to say that as they’re so busy my scan will probably be before my booking in appointment. They’d booked booking in for 19th but were away for two weeks over that date, so she said they’d rearrange and that she’d try and get scan for w/c 21st when I’ll be 13 weeks (hopefully 🤞)

I was a bit concerned to not see anyone until then so I filled out a gp form to get an appointment and was pleasantly surprised that the gp called within an hour! She was lovely and so reassuring, especially about flying (11 hours eeek) which I’d been worried about

anyone else’s area got big delays? Makes me wonder if we should do an early scan but I’m a bit reluctant so might just be patient

1yearplan · 07/03/2024 09:41

Thanks ladies, luckily my dress is big, so it will hide any baby bloating 😂
The hen do is a bottomless brunch 😂🤦‍♀️ so no hiding that! Plus my friends all know we were ttc, so they'd guess straight away.
We are moving to Melbourne @Kinsters, I'm so so excited for the move. As are my two teens. It's going to be a busy year and I can't wait!

Kinsters · 07/03/2024 10:24

@1yearplan how exciting! I've not been to Melbourne but have a few friends there and it looks lovely.

DaringlyDizzy · 07/03/2024 12:25

Hi all! I got my BFP yesterday but wasnt sure and then had it confirmed today! ant quite believe it. Imposter syndrome lol. I did think I was as I have felt so so so down the last week - really out the blue. Anyway, this is baby number 2 for me. Been 'trying' a year but 4 months properly. This was our last month for a while as hubby was made redundant early Feb. But here we are!

GreatestGatsby · 07/03/2024 13:47

1yearplan · 07/03/2024 09:03

@Loz365 I just filled out a form online. The midwives then contact me to arrange an appointment before 10 weeks. I'll be considered a high risk pregnancy this time due to unexplained losses at 15w and 16w3d for my last two pregnancies, so it might be a bit different this time round. I think it varies area to area though.

It’s the same in my area, @1yearplan, but I imagine it varies a lot by area, @Loz365.

I filled in the self-referral form yesterday and got an auto reply to say it would likely take longer than 10 days to respond with an appointment as they’re shortstaffed… and just got a call now to give me an appointment on Tuesday! Starting to feel real!

piechipsgravy · 07/03/2024 14:17

Welcome @DaringlyDizzy and congrats!

Sorry for the TMI question but have no one else to ask- how is everyone's BMs (🫣)? Ibe been constipated/having really hard stools for a week. Have been religiously eating bran flakes/dried prunes and chugging water since then and today my circumstances have completely reserved and I'm having loose BMs and have been 4 times today. Do you think this is just because of all the extra fibre I've had or should I be concerned?

Elixabeth · 07/03/2024 14:32

@piechipsgravy That sounds exactly like me, I've had terrible constipation, and spent yesterday munching on prunes, which resulted in me spending the first half an hour of work on the toilet, I would think it's all the extra fiber x

meepthebeep · 07/03/2024 14:35

@piechipsgravy I got a BFP on Tuesday (retesting tomorrow to make sure 🤞🏼) and also have the loose stools thing going on! I think I must’ve had it since about implantation (will be 4 weeks on Saturday), and wonder if it’s to do with lots of fibre too, as I’m also on the bran flakes.

I did google about it because I got myself a bit worried as constipation seems much more common (and I went that way with my pregnancy before Christmas which ended in MMC), and it seems pretty common thankfully. Not as common as constipation maybe, but it seems that the hormones can affect your bowels either way. Such fun 😊

HappyOP · 07/03/2024 14:40

Hi everyone, can I join? just got BFP on my Clear Blue and took another one that says 1-2 weeks, I'm due to get my period on Monday, but tested this morning as my boobs felt very sore. According to my calculation, due date would be mid Nov.

Loz365 · 07/03/2024 15:28

Welcome @DaringlyDizzy and @HappyOP !

I filled in the self referral form, though there was no harm in doing it a few days early and the midwife called me this afternoon and got my booking appointment on 15th April. Feels like ages away 😂 very grateful I've got the fertility clinic scan on 18th March, not sure I could wait until April before I saw someone 🤣

Also told my best friend today which has made it feel more real! Anyone else told anyone yet?

How exciting! When is your rough DD? Mine is 15th Nov.
Ive told two people - my best friend and my Nan. Thats it!
Did the booking form today - eagerly awaiting the booking app dates.
Feel VERY numb still. Hubby has created a Whatsapp group chat with me and him for me to send suggestions for the birth playlist already lol

Based on my flo app, mine is 18th Nov. I've also told my best friend as she knows we've been trying to conceive. Where do you do the booking form, is it just with your gp? Sorry about silly question.

Ours is direct with hospital. Most places are now I think. I am in Kent. If you are not sure type in your hospital name followed by pregnancy into google - itll take you to the right page x

AccountingMummy · 07/03/2024 15:45

Afternoon everyone 😊😊 and lovely to see you again @shohopeful !! Joining this chat too, I'm 5 weeks today and am booked in for an early scan next Saturday, fingers crossed will see a heartbeat but we will see! Have had some mild cramping every now and then, and very very sore boobs. I keep testing every 2 days to see the lines getting darker, so far so good! No nausea or food aversions yet. First baby so am a little nervous for what is in store!!

shohopeful · 07/03/2024 15:47

Hi @AccountingMummy so lovely to see you! That's great news re: the scan. Ours is booked for Good Friday so we'd be 8 weeks exactly by then. I've also had cramping but I've upped my water intake today and it seems to have helped a little. Could be something to try? It'll likely be all the hormones!
Welcome to all the new posters too! So lovely there are so many of us xxx

AccountingMummy · 07/03/2024 15:56

I'll give that a go, sometimes I worry I drink too much water 🤣 I also feel like the constipation is not helping the cramps. Exciting about your scan, 8 weeks seems like a perfect time as you should hear the heartbeat by then 🤞

1yearplan · 07/03/2024 16:13

It's lovely to see our group growing.

Loz365 · 07/03/2024 16:31

@DaringlyDizzy My due date is 6th Nov according to Flo app. I also feel very numb, that's such a good way to describe it!

@HappyOP I contacted my Gp and they just directed me to my local hospital NHS page and they had a self referral form on there. It was really straightforward.
Just registered on the Badger notes app!

Peaplant20 · 07/03/2024 20:18

Hello! Can I join? :) due date currently 6th Nov but I think I ovulated late so I’m expected it to actually be a bit later. This will be number 2 for me x

Figtree11 · 07/03/2024 20:21

Hi everyone, I got my BFP on Sunday. This will be my first baby, but second pregnancy.
I can’t work out my due date, as my cycles have been haywire following a MC so I can’t base it on last period.

Presuming that as I only got the BFP on Sunday, that perhaps I will be 4wks this weekend?! So around mid November I think.

It doesn’t quite feel real, and I’m putting off arranging my booking in appt.

Sunny1986 · 07/03/2024 22:47

Hi all, tentatively joining with EDD of 11 Nov. My little boy (2) bday 9 Nov so apparently I love making babies on Valentine's Day 😂

My pregnancy with my son (2021) was textbook, got pregnant 2nd month of trying and was smooth sailing all the way through. I've had 3 miscarriages / chemicals since then so that's why I am VERY cautious, but hard not to get excited!!

Sarah268 · 08/03/2024 06:17

Welcome to the new people.

@Peaplant20 I’m exactly the same as you on dates! I definitely ovulated late too.

@Sunny1986 haha yes valentines babies! Although very ironic for me as I find Valentine’s Day a bit cheesy tbh! And actually it was the only day around my fertile window that we didn’t DTD 😅

Is anyone else finding their sleep is really messed up? I have zero symptoms but I am finding that I’m wide awake at 4am everyday. Although maybe that’s more the nerves/excitement/stress of this whole process? Normally I’m a 6.30/7am kind of girl!
