Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

Hi - can I join :)
Rather nervous as unexpectedly pregnant and feeling all sorts of ways. Don’t have many people to talk to about this but took a pregnancy test yesterday morning and came back positive. DH is really unsure about a second. Part of me really wants anther I already have a 4 year old DD - I feel completely overwhelmed and alone. I have read a few of your stories and felt so happy and pleased that you are on this journey.

I have checked my due date would be around 25/11/24. I had a really tough pregnancy and labour last time and swore it would be my last. Here I am now!

Westy22 · 19/03/2024 10:27

6+5 and no real symptoms, panicked a bit at first but had scan at 5+4 and everything looked well with a flicker of a heartbeat, still makes me nervous and understand those who are saying they would rather have some symptoms just for reassurance. Other than constipation and bloating I'm not getting much else. Been offered another scan Monday just to check progress and it can't come quick enough 🤣 MC last May so super nervous x

Woke up at 5.30 with horrendous stomach pain from trapped wind/needing a BM again so back on the prunes and bran flakes for me 😭 the nausea also started today whilst lying in bed which is new and not so fun.

How is everyone doing today?

I’ve been waking up like this a few times!! The pain is next level!

y0rkier0se · 19/03/2024 10:40

I had no symptoms at all until 6+1 and now at 7+2 I’ve barely kept anything down since last Monday 🙃

Mumtobeno2 · 19/03/2024 10:57

Hi everyone, as awful as it is hearing all your symptoms/non symptoms has been massively reassuring.

I'm really struggling with lower back pain in particular on my left hand side, I called the maternity advice line who said this early on its unlikely to be pregnancy related but more likely coincidentally I've hurt my back. This might be true as I twinged it in bed last week trying to stretch it out as it was niggling me. Had to take some paracetamol and have a hot water bottle as I can't actually cope with it.

Welcome @Daydreamer94 as well, I have a 3 and half year old it took me a long time to come to conclusion we wanted a second so understand the nervousness. We planned this baby so not quite the same as finding out unexpectedly (although that did happen to me first time round). Hope this group is a nice support to you, it can be hard when you don't have lots of people irl to speak to about it. Xx

Hello! Been reading the feed for a little while but haven't been confident enough to post. I'm at 5+4 so should be due around 15th Nov. This is my first child and I'm super anxious at the moment. I've booked an early scan around the 8wks mark as I'm due to go abroad with a friend at 12wks so would need to tell her before- no cocktails for me!

Other than feeling mega tired and a few cramps here and there I feel okay, but I have had terrible headaches which I'm assuming could be linked. I first realised I was pregnant because my smell is super sensitive so I tested very early.
Helpful to read some of the other posts and journeys here because the days seem to be moving at snail pace!

Rockyslife · 19/03/2024 11:04

Hey, I hope you don't mind me joining, I wasn't going to join any threads as had a MC in Jan and it killed me seeing the comments after, but I guess were all human and need people to talk to during a super lonely time! I am 6 weeks tomorrow according to my LMP, I have really sore full breasts, needs the loo all of the time, constipation, but I really want to feel some sickness, I just feel like it would help reassure me a little, I am just expecting to loose this one too :( I am so scared.

I've had this a couple of times too. It was insanely painful! I don't remember this from previous pregnancies!

piechipsgravy · 19/03/2024 11:58

@Kinsters @Sparksi it's the worst- I could barely walk to the toilet!

Sparksi · 19/03/2024 12:01

In todays version of ridiculous anxiety…

I sprayed some perfume on my wrists, quite a bit of it because it wears off quickly. Half an hour later I was eating breakfast in the office and got some on my face, I didn’t have a tissue so without hesitating I turned around and discreetly wiped my mouth with the same perfume wrist. No idea if any perfume got in my mouth, really really worried it did (even though it would’ve been dry, it would have still been on my skin). Could this cause harm to the baby? I’m 5 weeks

I know I’ll (hopefully) look back on this and think how crazy irrational, but today it is REAL and I’m tying myself in knots about it worrying the chemicals are dangerous to ingest and thinking they’ll be in my bloodstream and somehow affect the baby. Even as I’m writing this I can see it sounds silly but I just feel sick thinking it might’ve done damage.

Shroedy · 19/03/2024 12:06

@Sparksi nothing to worry about in the slightest but we all have those moments! At 5 weeks your blood supply isn't even connected to baby yet. Even if that wasn't the case, any tiny little bits you might have possibly ingested would be so small as to be an absolute non-issue anyway and destroyed by your stomach acid / filtered out by your own blood in any event. Honestly, you and baby will be 100% fine.

mrssunshinexxx · 19/03/2024 12:08

Hi @Sparksi have you spoken to anyone previously about your anxiety? I promise you that will not of harmed your a baby x

Hey no I haven’t, I’ve always been anxious but it’s next level atm but that’s because I’ve had a loss before so I’m desperate this baby will be ok, and hate thinking there’s anything I could do to risk it xx

shohopeful · 19/03/2024 12:18

Hey @Rockyslife I also had a MC in January so I totally empathise with how you're feeling. But there's no reason why this will go the same way. I'm now 6+4 and just taking it one day at a time. Try to have things in the diary to take your mind off everything and just (literal) baby steps xxx

@shohopeful @Rockyslife I had a MC early Feb and I’m now 5 weeks. Totally understand how you both feel, it is scary, one day at a time though and it’s way more likely than not that all will be ok this time xxx

mrssunshinexxx · 19/03/2024 12:20

Sorry for your previous loss. Try to remind yourself you can't do any damage to baby it's clear to see you will be a great mum and already care deeply maybe have a chat with your midwife about your anxieties to make sure they are under control and don't have a negative impact on your pregnancy xx

Hi everyone

id like to join please. Just found out I’m pregnant and due nov 18th after having two early loses this year. Happy and excited but also scared and cautious. This will be my 4th baby, I have 3 older children aged between 16 and 11. X

Daydreamer94 · 19/03/2024 12:50

Thanks @Mumtobeno2 it’s hard to know if you should have another, well for me it was at least as my DD was not the easiest and pregnancy/labour also difficult. I am still in shock but glad I found this thread.

How exciting for you and congratulations hope it all goes smooth - does your DD want a sibling? Mine is completely against the idea and says she hates babies - she wants a big sister instead.

Sorry to hear about your back! Hope that subsides soon. In terms of symptoms for me its been really sore swollen breasts and painful cramping, it was the same for me first time round which is how I first knew I might be pregnant x

waryandbored · 19/03/2024 12:59

I’m feel so fed up today. I’m still experiencing light bleeding/spotting. It’s weird, like (TMI) slightly lumpy pink discharge. I’ve got some aches and pains but nothing significant. Scan on Thursday. But my anxiety is so high. I feel on the edge of tears all the time. I haven’t told anyone I’m pregnant apart from my partner so feel pretty alone in dealing with it all. I’m thinking about telling a friend just so I can chat to a woman about it!

1yearplan · 19/03/2024 13:37

Oh @waryandbored it can be such a lonely time at this point in pregnancy. Could you try calling your EPU again? I know you've got a scan booked for Thursday, but it might be worth a shot?

I have to go through the GP but maybe I should ask them to call on the off chance.
It does feel so lonely! My partner is great and supportive but he doesn’t really get it. I think it’s that feeling of responsibility that we have as soon as we are pregnant.

This is good to hear as I've had really bad pain in my lower back since Sunday. I was thinking of going to the pharmacy but didn't feel much point as I feel like my bed/sleeping position is more to blame than being 5 weeks pregnant 😅 just really hope it goes away soon as putting on my socks and shoes this morning and getting into the car hurt so much it took my breath away. Having a desk job probably doesn't help me either but moving has definitely eased. I just need a better nights sleep 😩

1yearplan · 19/03/2024 14:04

What a faff and waste of everyone's time going via the GP. I understand they probably want to reduce the number of people calling EPU, but it's not fair when you need to be seen.
Do you take any progesterone that could have caused the discharge? Or could you have thrush?

AFeastForCrows · 19/03/2024 14:52

Hi all, going to bow out of here and the fb group - looks like I’m having a MC

went to the EPU today for a scan after bleeding and pain and they couldn’t see anything. Lining of uterus is still full apparently so could be a pregnancy of unknown location or baby has already passed.

had bloods taken today and will have a repeat of that on Thurs and possibly Saturday to check levels but doesn’t look likely

wishing you all the best with your little beans ❤️

I know - it’s just a ridiculous system.
I don’t take progesterone or anything similar. It could be thrush - the consistency of the discharge is similar. Do you think that could cause bleeding? I’ve never had internal thrush before and have no itching or anything.
