Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

So sorry to hear that @AFeastForCrows sending you lots of love. Hope you have someone looking after you xx

AFeastForCrows · 19/03/2024 15:39

Thanks all. It all is very unpredictable and that is the cruel part - one day you’re planning ahead for your baby and the next it’s all gone

DP is being super supportive and work have been great. Been signed off for 2 weeks as we’re unsure of what will happen in the coming week

TinkRose · 19/03/2024 15:40

I’m out - MC confirmed today, I was expecting it after the amount of bleeding and cramps I had yesterday.
Wishing happy and healthy pregnancies to you all.

Gosh, I'm so sorry ladies. Take care of yourselves, and very sensible to take some time off work. TTC can be so cruel 😞 xx

Sparksi · 19/03/2024 16:43

Really sorry ladies xx

Sparksi · 19/03/2024 16:45

I’m scared sick. Silly silly me thought ‘let’s do the last test to use it up’ after getting 3+ yesterday at 4+6. Today it says 2-3???! I definitely drank more this afternoon than yesterday but even so I’d have thought there would be progress in 24h. I’ve had to go out to buy more tests. I just feel so scared. Last time I never got a 3+, I only got 2-3 and it then eventually fell back to 1-2 as I MC. So scared.

Loz365 · 19/03/2024 16:58

@Sparksi try not to worry, those CB digitals are rubbish and so unreliable. I tested at 5+4 and was still getting 2-3 weeks, then ran out of tests so never got my 3+ on them. I'm currently 6+6 weeks today and had my ultrasound yesterday that showed a tiny bean with a beating heart.
I know it's hard but I would stop using those if you can, they just cause so much anxiety 😌 xx

1yearplan · 19/03/2024 16:58

I'm so sorry to hear this @AFeastForCrows and @TinkRose. Be kind to yourself ladies.

This is good to hear as I've had really bad pain in my lower back since Sunday. I was thinking of going to the pharmacy but didn't feel much point as I feel like my bed/sleeping position is more to blame than being 5 weeks pregnant 😅 just really hope it goes away soon as putting on my socks and shoes this morning and getting into the car hurt so much it took my breath away. Having a desk job probably doesn't help me either but moving has definitely eased. I just need a better nights sleep 😩

@CadoAvo you sound like me! I've been the same, I went for a walk this lunch which at first was hard going but seems to have eased it. I remember from last time everything I needed to do for my body felt counter intuitive at the time.

I'm going to go swimming once a week from now on too, I can barely swim but it might help with my joints as it's less pressure as I get bigger in the coming months.

We're also off to get a new bed, at long last I think we've accepted our cheap Groupon mattress probably isn't going to help anything going forward.

Hope your back pain eases, and sending solidarity! X

@Sparksi the tests are very inconsistent and have a huge range as to when they will show the different "weeks". It really doesn't tell you anything, particularly only a day later.

Can you reach out to the hospital you're going to book in at and ask for some support? There are midwives trained in helping you with anxiety and it's a very anxious time! Particularly in light of your previous loss, they'll be able to help.

Mumtobeno2 · 19/03/2024 17:16

Sorry @AFeastForCrows and @TinkRose to hear about your losses. Early pregnancy can be cruel, the anticipation and the quick changes. Glad to hear your work have been supportive @AFeastForCrows and your husband sounds lovely. Sending you both lots of strength and hope you're ok xx

Thank you, the EPU staff I have spoken to thus far are seem quite rude and not very empathetic. Might just be the two I have spoken to. The community midwife who my booking appointment is with is LOVELY though, I might give her a ring tomorrow, she seems so kind.

I know I probably seem crazy now but I’ve broken the tests apart to see if there’s a difference in line strength. They look like this. Top is yesterday’s, as I say i did drink less but roughly the same kind of hold. Bottom is today’s.

Daydreamer94 · 19/03/2024 12:50

Thanks @Mumtobeno2 it’s hard to know if you should have another, well for me it was at least as my DD was not the easiest and pregnancy/labour also difficult. I am still in shock but glad I found this thread.

How exciting for you and congratulations hope it all goes smooth - does your DD want a sibling? Mine is completely against the idea and says she hates babies - she wants a big sister instead.

Sorry to hear about your back! Hope that subsides soon. In terms of symptoms for me its been really sore swollen breasts and painful cramping, it was the same for me first time round which is how I first knew I might be pregnant x

I think it's always the unknown, a first baby or subsequent baby always changes your family unit. My daughter does really want a sibling, a lot of her friends already have them although oddly all brothers so she's hoping for a little sister so she can be Elsa and the little one Anna. It's going to be a surprise when she realises they're not a ready made playmate.

I am sure your daughter will come round to it, being the big sister is always better you get to choose what you play more often than not!

Glad to hear it's going well and your symptoms are the same, I always wonder if that means you're carrying the same gender but I don't think that's true just an old wives tale probably.

Shroedy · 19/03/2024 17:22

@Sparksi the midwives who are there to support you from a stress and anxiety perspective aren't EPU midwives so definitely reach out to the midwife you know and she'll be able to guide you. There really is no way to compare lines over such a short period so do your hardest to put the tests to one side, I know it's not easy.

Elixabeth · 19/03/2024 17:33

I had my private scan this afternoon and I had convinced myself it was bad news but it turns out the bleeding is a subchorionic hematoma. Baby is measuring at 7+1 which is around what we thought, and we got to see the little heartbeat
