Pregnancy after loss support

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3 losses in total. I'm only 4+4, but got faint positive 11 days ago at 9dpo and it feels like I've been pregnant for aaaages but time is moving so slowly. We've booked an early scan when I'll be 8 weeks exactly so waiting it out until then, and hoping nothing happens in between. I wondered if anyone else is in a similar position and wanted to share this early journey with me. I've decided not to tell anyone this time round, a lot of my close friends are dealing with newborns or their own ivf journeys and I don't want to add any load to anyone. But it feels like a huge load to me so would love to share with someone!

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 08:22

Got my fingers crossed for all the scans today @Rockyslife @Hopingrae
so sorry to hear about the bleeding @Confusedandtired90 i hope the scan goes well xxx

Wise0wl · 12/04/2024 08:41

Wishing you all lots of luck for your scans today 💕

Sez281 · 12/04/2024 08:45

Good luck with the scans today @Ketryne @Rockyslife and @Hopingrae . Hopefully they give you some reassurance 🙏

@Confusedandtired90 sorry to hear about your bleeding. Hopefully it's just a haematoma or something. I hope you get some answers soon 🤞

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 08:49

Can I ask a silly question for those who’ve had their 12 weeks scans - how much did you drink before and did you manage the hold it for an hour prior to the appointment and throughout the scan?
I’m worried I’m not going to be able to do it my bladder was awful even before I was pregnant and I don’t want to ruin the chances of a good scan.

SnookyPook · 12/04/2024 09:11

@Confusedandtired90 sorry for your scare. Hope all is fine at the scan 🙏🏼💕

Thinking of everyone else with scans today! Hopefully good news all round ❤️

@30somethingttc I never worry too much about when I've wee'd tbh as at the moment it seems to build up again quickly anyway! I was pretty desperate before my scan and ended up having a wee and they never said anything about my bladder being too empty! I would say, wee as and when needed (also better for preventing UTIs!) but maybe have a bottle of water with you to sip on and replenish as needed!

Figtree11 · 12/04/2024 09:21

@30somethingttc ive not had a 12wk scan yet, but I went to one last week expecting them to do an internal scan as I was around 7weeks, so I even went for a wee in the hospital! When they said they were doing an abdominal ultrasound I was worried but they saw it perfectly.
Also had a scan before where my bladder was so full it blocked the view so I then had to relieve myself & have internal

Hopingrae · 12/04/2024 09:37

@Hopingrae thanks so much for your good wishes ladies, it's been very heart warming. We were in early at epu and all ok with scan, wriggling around and measuring 11+5. They didn't mention the haematoma and nurse said they don't always know the reason for bleeds. Anyway, a relief for sure. It was quite quick so looking forward to more detailed checks at 12 week scan in just over a week.

@Confusedandtired90 @Rockyslife wishing you both all the best with your scans today xx

@30somethingttc I turned up to my DS 12 week scan desperate for a wee with full bladder to be told I didn't need a full bladder for the scan so I could go for a wee! So you might not need to...

@Hopingrae that's fantastic. You must be over the moon x

Confusedandtired90 · 12/04/2024 10:22

Amazing news @Hopingrae! what a relief and nice to know the next scan isn’t too far away.

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages. The pregnancy is still there which is a good thing but they didn’t know how it was going to all play out. They’ve prescribed me progesterone but who knows. My pregnancy test this am seemed lighter than my previous one 5 days ago.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the progesterone works its magic and that the bleeding doesn’t get worse between now and my next scan on 22nd.

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 10:51

Thanks @SnookyPook @Figtree11
when my letter said drink 2 pints and hold it for an hour before I literally laughed out loud.
id be lucky to hold it for 10 mins and would be weeing 100 times after.
cant wait to get it over with. I’ve had no cramping for the last 2 weeks and it’s worrying me that things aren’t growing. It’s mad how desperate I am for symptoms.

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 10:53

That’s great @Hopingrae !!!!

Got everything crossed for you @Confusedandtired90 that’s good you got progesterone. 22nd will come before you know it xxx

SnookyPook · 12/04/2024 10:57

@Hopingrae that's fantastic news lovely, and so nice to be able to go to your 12wk scan with a bit of reassurance 💕

@Confusedandtired90 so glad to hear the pregnancy is still there but sorry that you obviously feel in a bit of limbo still. Apologies for losing track but what gestation are you now? Great that you've got the progesterone - hopefully it will do the trick and prevent further bleeding. I wouldn't read too much into the pregnancy test - so many factors can play into it and the fact your pregnancy has developed is the main thing. 💕

@30somethingttc yeah I think that would make most pregnant women laugh out loud tbh! They must be joking!! Aw it'll come round slowly but surely!! That first trimester just drags on and on doesn't it?! X

Hopingrae · 12/04/2024 11:42

@Confusedandtired90 glad that your pregnancy is still progressing but sorry it's still feeling a bit uncertain at the moment. How far along are you again, sorry not to remember?

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 11:42

It’s feels so quick and so slow all at the same time. Thinking I found out 2 months ago seems mad but waiting 4 days to my scan feels like years!! @SnookyPook
my appointments in the afternoon and it’s the first one this pregnancy that I haven’t had in the morning. Safe to say no work will be getting done prior to leaving for the hospital!!

Rockyslife · 12/04/2024 12:08

I can't believe it, I've had another loss got to have an operation tomorrow, they won't test the baby because I've only had two miscarriages, I mean this is torture

Hopingrae · 12/04/2024 12:27

@Rockyslife oh I'm so very very sorry lovely, my heart is broken for you. I know that pain of 2 in a row is just so brutal. Sending you love, hugs and strength at such a difficult time xxx

Confusedandtired90 · 12/04/2024 12:29

@Hopingrae @SnookyPook still v early days! Gestational age is 6+2 but I think I ovulated more like day 18/19?

Even still, from gestational sac size (8.3mm average) I'd only be measuring 5+3. Feels like hope is starting to dwindle a bit. But I do have a yolk sac (no fetal pole yet) so at least that's something!

30somethingttc · 12/04/2024 12:30

@Rockyslife i am so so so sorry for your loss. Sending you big hugs and hope it goes as ok as possible tomorrow xxxx

@Rockyslife i am so so sorry. It’s so unfair

SnookyPook · 12/04/2024 12:39

@Rockyslife I'm so sorry sorry my darling 😔 my heart is broken for you. Sending you so much love. 💕
