Pregnancy after loss support

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3 losses in total. I'm only 4+4, but got faint positive 11 days ago at 9dpo and it feels like I've been pregnant for aaaages but time is moving so slowly. We've booked an early scan when I'll be 8 weeks exactly so waiting it out until then, and hoping nothing happens in between. I wondered if anyone else is in a similar position and wanted to share this early journey with me. I've decided not to tell anyone this time round, a lot of my close friends are dealing with newborns or their own ivf journeys and I don't want to add any load to anyone. But it feels like a huge load to me so would love to share with someone!

@SnookyPook im crying at my desk reading that! Definitely something a lot of people needed to hear!
you do have a way with words!!!!

Rockyslife · 11/04/2024 14:54

@SnookyPook thank you so much for taking the time to write that for me. Honestly you wouldn't believe how much this has calmed me down, even if it's just for today it'll at least see me through until my scan tomorrow morning, I have to keep remembering it already knows the destiny and I have to just go with it, because I have no other choice or control over this! I hope you're all ok, is there any one else that's wishing the last few weeks away and finally make it to their 12 weeks scan?

Hopingrae · 11/04/2024 15:03

@Rockyslife yes, 100% feeling like I just want to get past the 12 week scan and tests milestone. I was saying to DH, this period of time has felt sooo long. I know passing 12 weeks is not the end of the road by any means, but I think I'll feel better to get there. Like you I also have a scan tomorrow at epu, I'll be 11+1. My 12 week scan is in 11 days when I'll be 12+4. Every day is a day closer... but it still feels like ages away.

I’ve just had my scan at the EPAU and confirmed baby died at 8w1d. I should be 10w5d today. Second sonographer confirmed it and I’m booked in for surgery under general on Tuesday because I can’t face yet another MC at home. Feeling strange about the next few days knowing what I know and still carrying the baby.

SnookyPook · 11/04/2024 16:17

Aw thanks ladies - I'm glad my words have been helpful to people 💕 And yes, 12wks is a great milestone to get to. I found it all sped up after that too, and although I still have some anxieties etc, now that I'm definitely feeling Babba it is lovely getting that affirmation they are in there and moving etc. You will get there ❤️

@Jellybelly888 I'm so sorry that the worst has been confirmed, but glad you have some closure and a bit more certainty about the path immediately ahead of you. Knowing I had been carrying my little one around with no heartbeat was one of the toughest parts of the MMC and as you say, those last days when it has been confirmed and you're just waiting. I tried to think of it as my last precious bits of time with those little cells and a kind of goodbye period. I hope all goes as well as it can on Tuesday. Sending you lots of love and hugs. X

MrsScotland · 11/04/2024 16:23

I'm so so sorry Jelly, thinking of you x

30somethingttc · 11/04/2024 16:39

@Jellybelly888 so sorry to hear, sending you so much love and support your way.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Ladies, I wondered if I could join please? Iv just spent the last hour or so reading everyone's comments and it has melted my heart how supportive this thread is. I'm also very very sorry for the ladies that have had to go through another loss and my thoughts are with you.

I'm currently 4w 1d and I am a nervous wreck. Iv had 3 consecutive miscarriages.

  1. was MMC at 10w, which the baby stopped growing at 7w5d.
  2. early miscarriage at 5w
  3. early miscarriage at 4w 5d

Iv got no living children. I'm under the consultant at gynae for my previous losses and recently been diagnosed with PCOS.

I'm booked in for an early scan with EPAU at 6w (23rd April). If all is ok they can prescribe me progesterone.

Here is my latest test (1 day after AF due). And I'm stressing is too faint constantly.

Hi @JNicko
welcome!
so sorry for your previous losses but got everything crossed for you and this pregnancy 🤞🤞
I think that test looks very similar to how mine looked at that stage but it’s so hard not to over think things isn’t it.
we are all here for you 💓

Hopingrae · 11/04/2024 20:06

@JNicko you're very welcome to the thread. So sorry for your losses. Wishing you all the positive vibes for this new pregnancy. That's good you're booked in for a scan at 6 weeks. I hope the next couple of weeks go at a relatively quick pace for you. We all know the waits for scans can feel so long sometimes!
I think that looks like a good line. I tried to stop myself testing after period due date, as I couldn't face analysing the tests. But I think you do what works best for you!

Any tips on how to sleep tonight? I have had two days of no sleep and I really could do with a good night's kip ready to prepare for tomorrows scan

Hopingrae · 11/04/2024 20:28

@Rockyslife wishing you well for tomorrow. I have the headspace app and quite often do a wind down meditation to help my brain switch off before bed. Lots of free ones online too. Or I'll read a few pages of a book. I know different things work for different people.

@Jellybelly888 so sorry to hear this. I hope you have lots of support. Look after yourself xx

@Rockyslife sorry to hear that you're so worried, I hope @SnookyPook 's (beautiful words as usual 🌷) helped ease it a little. My advice would be to avoid using your phone for at least an hour before bedtime

@Hopingrae good luck with the scan tomorrow 🤞x

@JNicko welcome to the thread. We all totally understand the anxiety. Unfortunately the wait for the first scan is like the tww x100. Try distract yourself as much as possible., and try not to rest too much (easier said than done I know!)

24evergreen · 11/04/2024 21:43

I hope it's ok to join? I found out I'm pregnant this evening after suffering a miscarriage last summer and have struggled conceiving since. I am over the moon and feeling quite hopeful right now but obviously feel so worried about miscarrying again. I hate how it has taken the innocence away from it all.

Welcome! So sorry to hear of your previous losses. That line looks good to me! If you can bear to, I echo what the other ladies have said to try and stop testing, although easier said than done! Hopefully this one will be your little rainbow bean 🙏🏼🌈 As you may have seen, I had 3 losses myself last year and currently all going well at 22+4 🙏🏼 Keep the faith 💗

JNicko · 12/04/2024 07:16

Thank you ladies. I find it really hard to step away from the tests. I think it's because of my MMC I had no inclination that anything was wrong. So it's my way of preparing myself if anything does happen. I'm going to try and relax a bit. Tests are getting darker over 48 hours so that's the main thing. How is everyone feeling?

JNicko · 12/04/2024 07:18

@Rockyslife good luck for your scan today x

Figtree11 · 12/04/2024 07:43

@30somethingttc @SnookyPook I’d been putting off buying any new clothes as I didn’t want to jinx the pregnancy. But I was ridiculously uncomfortable yesterday at work squeezed into my jeans so might just have to buy something!

@Hopingrae @Rockyslife i hope your scans go well today

Welcome @JNicko & @24evergreen the anxiety that comes with pregnancy after loss is torture

So sorry @Jellybelly888 xxx

Rockyslife · 12/04/2024 07:49

Confusedandtired90 · 12/04/2024 08:06

I had lots of bleeding yesterday so am in for a scan this morning too. Absolutelt terrified its happening again.

Your message yesterday @SnookyPook was just what the doctor ordered and I felt much more able to handle yday!

Rockyslife · 12/04/2024 08:11

@Confusedandtired90 I am sorry to hear you're having a bleed, please stay positive, and I am keeping everything crossed for all of us, I am absolutely crapping it, but it helps to know we have such a great support here. Let us know how you get on 💜

JNicko · 12/04/2024 08:17

@Confusedandtired90 I'm no sorry your bleeding. I'm keeping everything crossed for you scan today. Keep those positive thoughts going.

Ketryne · 12/04/2024 08:20

@Confusedandtired90 what a horrible stressful thing, I'm so sorry, but glad you've got a scan quickly - hopefully it's all fine and you'll be reassured 💗

I've got my fingers crossed for everyone having their scans today. I'm in for one too this afternoon, but this was planned rather than due to any concerns. I'm trying to feel hopeful about it but it's very difficult not to expect the worst. It's not till late afternoon so have to keep myself busy until then.
