Hello ladies,
as per suggestion in respect to the owner of the previous thread I’ve created a new (continued) thread for us.

So I took my first cyclizine tablet yesterday evening - no sickness, hooray! But awful side effect of restless arms overnight (a little bit in the legs too, but mainly arms). I’ve been googling a lot this morning and there is a clear link between the two. I’m going to take one this morning and see how it is during the day, as apparently it’s worse for people at night, and if that’s ok then I’ll literally just take one a day in the morning instead of 3 times a day. I’ll let GP know in case she can prescribe something different but blimey, it was so uncomfortable! Literally felt like my arms were fizzing under the skin all night!

SC126 · 08/03/2024 08:38

@Lillers the pharmacy should have labelled the cyclizine when required. So you don't have to take 3 times a day if you can just manage on once a day. My sickness isn't as bad at night so I usually just take one during the day. There are many other anti sickness options though they can prescribe instead if you do struggle. It's all about finding the right one. I'm glad to hear it helped with the sickness though!

Lillers · 08/03/2024 08:42

@SC126 I have to say I was amazed at how little info the pharmacy provided - it literally just says “Take 3 times a day”. I wanted to know if that was with food, etc so looked it up on the NHS website and found so much more info about how to take it! Like you say, as required up to 3 times a day, must be 8 hours apart, can be with or without food etc. All of that would have been useful to know 😂

SC126 · 08/03/2024 08:46

@Lillers oh no that's terrible counselling on their part. They should have warned you about potential drowsiness too. I promise my pharmacy practice is much better at work 🤣

Lillers · 08/03/2024 08:56

My first day of being officially signed off work, I sent a really long handover yesterday with everything I could foresee being important in the next week, and HR have just called me because people are faffing about something that has a deadline of MAY. They’re looking for all the files in relation to it and can’t find them, IT have been scouring my files trying to find it and can’t - I’m sorry, did they not see on my doctor’s note that I’m signed off with pregnancy related vomiting and STRESS?? It’s not even 9am on Day 1. I told her the files are on the front page of my department’s shared folder. Should not have been hard to find, and oh my goodness they’re not even needed for another 2 months. Then she asked if it would be ok to text me if they need anything else - absolutely not! I’m so cross about this.

rupertbear91 · 08/03/2024 09:09

@Lillers I struggled with cyclizine too no one warned me it was sedating first tablet knocked me out for 16 hours straight so I had to change after that!
I'm pretty sure legally they can't ask you about work things whilst you are signed off I know we aren't allowed to in work and I have been off for 6 weeks now and luckly my work have respected that.

VT6 · 08/03/2024 09:57

Had my scan ladies and measuring 1 day ahead so official 13 weeks today!
Baby was literally perfect( holding its hand over its face )! I’m very emotional 😂
no printing paper so had to take photos on our phones🙄
my local hospital is soooo slow I’ve been here nearly 2 hours including scan & bloods - just waiting for my notes to be updated then I can go home and share the news ❤️

Yeah, you have every right to be fuming… colleagues flapping at 9am on day 1 of your signed off leave 😫 Jesus. How do they function in their day to day lives?

Hope you can calm down and manage to rest, like you’re supposed to 😣 x

Aweeee, so so lovely 🥹🥹🤍

Mine has been face down TWICE lol. First for the NHS scan and also for my NIPT scan. They even had me jumping around, belly rolls slapping all over the gaff 🥲 still no change.

I wasn’t keen on paying for private scans but I feel like I want one now just to see them the right way up with some clear photos 😂

luckyfaith · 08/03/2024 11:54

Just got my NIPT results back, all came back low and they confirmed it's a boy! 😅I was convinced it was a girl 😄 Going by this rate we will be able to build a football team with all the boys confirmed on this thread! 😂

Xur · 08/03/2024 12:16

Awh congratulations @VT6 ❤️ now you can go for a happy nap since you have been up since early 🥱😴

Congratulations @luckyfaith another little boy, I honestly can't believe how many we have so far on this thread! How exciting!!

Decaffe · 08/03/2024 13:37

Just got my NIPT results back, all low risk 🙏🏻 and… yes you’ve guessed it… another little boy for the thread! 😁💙

Feeling so much more relaxed for my 12 week scan on Tuesday now! I really had worked myself up into such a tizzy!

So very pleased for you! Now you can relax and enjoy your weekend! 🥰

FirstTimeMum897 · 08/03/2024 15:09

My mood swings are off the charts. I'm sooooooo angry, have been for 24 hours. I exercised, i went for a walk in the sun, took a nap, went out for lunch. Yet i am still absolutely raging. At DH for not organizing something i told him to, at DH for intending to have a glass of wine when I can't, at work because i have to work and pay the bills, at my jeans because they don't fit, my hairbrush etc. I'm a hormonal ball of anger. Anyone else? Or am I just going insane? I'm 14 weeks going on 15

Decaffe · 08/03/2024 15:15

Thank you @luckyfaith I feel like such a weight is off. We’re out for lunch with all DH’s family tomorrow so going to tell them then 🥰

Edit to add, that they will all be quietly keen to hear when we are going to be doing our next IVF transfer, so this is really going to shock them! 😁

Wibbles64 · 08/03/2024 16:22

That was me the last week or so @FirstTimeMum897, bit better now have reached 14 weeks.Having an afternoon nap the last couple of days has helped a bit. Have you tried box breathing?

HolyMoly24 · 08/03/2024 16:54

Congrats on all the little baby boys! It's mad how many there are on this thread.

FirstTimeMum897 · 08/03/2024 17:06

@Wibbles64 I haven't gone totally mad, i internalize most of it, I'm not exploding at anyone, not even DH but...my moods are just all over 😂I'm so up and down, mostly down, and miserable. Exercise usually helps! And I live in a sunny climate, I have no excuse!

I just want to go home and nest and re-areange my cupboards and nap for the rest of the 6 months now and for the rest of the world to just leave me alone😂

Being a solicitor and dealing with shitty awful clients 10hrs /day is not helping! I hate people now.

Butterfly2000 · 08/03/2024 17:19

I've just cried for about 15mins because I've accidentally thrown a piece of jewellery away (it was a diamond earrings to be fair) and I'm tired so I feel you @FirstTimeMum897 I'd prefer not to really talk to people most days! And I can just imagine some of the people you have speak to in your line of work 😒

MudandMoet · 08/03/2024 19:54

🩷🩷🩷 it's a girl!! 🩷🩷🩷 I thought it was high time we started straightening out the numbers on this thread so here's my part!

I chased the NIPT results and she was adamant they got sent yesterday but then they just so happened to reach my inbox while I was on the phone to her this afternoon 🤨 all low risk so that's a relief. Don't understand the report numbers whatsoever but all says low 🥳

SantasRubiksCube · 08/03/2024 20:21

Don't want to upset anyone so going to put a trigger warning before my following post ❗

Does anyone else get a horrible sense of dread/worry/anxiety sometimes that they are just happily going along thinking they are pregnant when really they could just have a MMC at any point? Although I've got 3 other children and everything was fine at the 12 week scan (I'm now 14 weeks), I've had an early miscarriage in the past and some of the posts on Mumsnet about people sadly losing their baby at any point in pregnancy reminds me that it can happen to anyone and there's nothing you can do about it, I have almost a fear of going to the next scan thinking everything will be ok just to be told the baby had stopped growing at some point.
Sorry I don't mean to be morbid or anything, I guess I'm just a worrier and being at that early second trimester of pregnancy limbo where I don't really have those early days symptoms much anymore but yet don't really have a bump/movements etc. so there's not much to provide reassurance.
