@MudandMoet ahh congrats that's a lovely scan

@Khanga27 yes at our hospital they charge £3 per photo!

SC126 · 23/02/2024 10:08

@Khanga27 our hospital charges too but often will let people have one for free. Or at least the did when I had my eldest.
Regarding your fibroid. Some reassurance hopefully for you. My sister has a fibroid which is 10cm so very big and she's had a gorgeous boy in December. The fibroid was initially not blocking cervix etc but she was closely monitored and as time went on consultant decided an elective would be safer. However everything went perfectly for her.

Xur · 23/02/2024 10:25

Thank you ladies for the suggestion, I will check out serpahine now! And yes please let me know about the Amazon leggings! 🙏

@MudandMoet your bebeeeey looks absolutely perfect! 🤩 3 hours is a long time. Mine was like 25 mins with scan and taking the bloods and all. But I am not consultant led so probably that shortened it.

@Khanga27 they made us pay for pictures aswell, my spouse was appalled but he volunteered to pay anyway 😂 I was also thinking this is weird but anyway, I’ll be making a photo album with the baby so I don’t mind paying for if it’s detrimental to wether we have the pics or not.

Forgot to share scan sorry - baby rolled over for the pics ha! Tbh our scan pics at private clinic last week were better as today baby was very active!! But is nice to keep for each stage!

@SC126 thanks for the reassurance. It does make me feel a little anxious but I’m also glad I’m under the extra monitoring too.

Hello everyone, would you mind if I join? Or actually re-join, as I posted once on the first thread, but have been quiet since. Decided I would prefer to wait until after my 12wk scan. I've been following along though. I'm also on a conception board thread with the OP of the September babies 4 thread, really sad to read her news.

I am 12+5 with my 2nd baby. I have a 2.5 year old son. I also had an ectopic pregnancy about 14m ago, which needed surgery.

Had a lovely scan yesterday, was measuring 5 days ahead, so my due date is 1st Sept. I wouldn't be surprised if they're a week late though, like my son.

Interested in the maternity clothes chat. I'm having to fasten my jeans using the hairband looped over the button/through the button hole trick, so will need to get a few bits soon. It looks like there are some nice jeans on Next? Bit expensive though.

My first was born in July, SO HOT. I had some great linen trousers that sat under the bump (no over-bump band) which came from ASOS and were much cooler than jeans with a bump band. I like the idea of dresses...but hate reaching around a bump to shave my legs 😂

Also having all the vaccines here too, I think the risks of getting flu or COVID during pregnancy are higher than any potential side effects. Especially as I've never had a bad reaction to a jab in the past.

@YellowZ welcome back!
that’s a lovely picture, your baby has a distinctive nose like mine in the scan pictures! 😂
Linen is actually a good idea, I have a linen dress but that will for sure be too small during the summer.

@Khanga27 ahahah, it’s so funny I have never seen a baby facing downwards like this 😂 I wonder if they were hiding from having their picture taken 😂 you know like an ostrich.

Khanga27 · 23/02/2024 12:51

@Xur i know, it’s quite funny!! It made me very glad we got the private pictures and video last week to be honest ha. I couldn’t believe how much movement/dancing was going on in there, was like a party in my tummy 😂

I’ve loved seeing all the other scan pics over past couple of days, lovely to see and congratulations x

MudandMoet · 23/02/2024 14:15

Ahh that's girls! It really is a lovely board full of lovely lovely people 🥰

We had to pay £5 each for baby scans - they were free upstairs in EPU but not downstairs in the actual maternity unit. I got quite a few for mother's day cards as that's when we doing the big reveal (nan aunt stepmom etc) then stupidly realised when I got home I could have scanned and photo printed the extras I needed at home! Doh!!

Welcome back @YellowZ hopefully you can relax a little more now you've had your 12 week scan.

@Khanga27 my baby was face down too first off, the lady had me doing all kinds of positions on the bed to get them on their back. She did say if it fails and they end up like in a sat up position she would have to ask me to come back as there's no way they can get the measurements then.

Emmaev · 23/02/2024 14:25

Does anyone know when you get a letter regarding a consultant appointment?

I was told I’d have one around 14 weeks. But I’ve not heard anything, and I’m 12+4 now

Khanga27 · 23/02/2024 14:40

@MudandMoet so mine was actually on back for measurements, but there were one or two that took a little longer, then it was when she was doing pics at end that baby rolled onto front 😂 very active!

@Emmaev So I have a consultant appointment I think at 15 weeks I think, but may be different as I’m under midwife and obstetrician due to being high risk, whereas before today I would have only been under midwife and just had the 16 week appointment.

tryingfortwo2 · 23/02/2024 14:51

Loving all the scan pictures 🥰 it still blows my mind that they are wiggling around having a party in there and at this stage we still can’t feel a thing. Like how am I not aware that you’re currently using my uterus as a trampoline park?!

Emmaev · 23/02/2024 15:30

Thanks @Khanga27 im hoping the letter comes through soon. I’ve only seen my midwife so far. But I think now it all ramps up a bit with a lot more appointments and scans.

I’m not too sure how it works as I was classed as low risk with my daughter. But due to pre eclampsia, pre term labour and a c section I’m high risk this time. So it’s all new to me

MrsM89 · 23/02/2024 15:33

Last epau scan done measuring 10w5d and got my dating scan in 10days time.
Baby was having a good wriggle today.

SC126 · 23/02/2024 15:51

All these scans making me jealous. Got my dating scan date finally yesterday and it's in 2 weeks when I'll be 13 weeks. The wait is killing me. And Im still having awful nausea and need this placenta to start doing some of the work now!

Wanderlust86 · 23/02/2024 15:58

All good at the scan 😃
I was put a few days ahead so will be 13 weeks on Sunday. Due date 1st Sept 🥳
They were really moving around which made it difficult to get measurements. Can't believe I can't feel all that dancing. I wasn't charged for my scans and was given 6. They are doing a weird little hand dance in this one.

Due September 4.5 🐣♥️🧡💜
Xur · 23/02/2024 16:11

Awww @MrsM89 @Wanderlust86 it’s so cute 🥰 I’m glad you had good scans

we have so many scans happening now it’s crazy!

OP posts:
MudandMoet · 23/02/2024 16:29

@Emmaev I saw my consultant yesterday at the scan and he's seeing me again in 6 weeks.

@tryingfortwo2 😂 they definitely must be cushioned in well!

@MrsM89 lovely scan pic 🥰 and yours too @Wanderlust86, definitely having a little rave in there.

@SC126 My nausea has made a small come back. It's weird, just the odd bout that lasts an hour or two but I thought it had gone! As per, only eating seems to cure it so back scoffing at a rate of knots 🤦🏼‍♀️

Bakerbean · 23/02/2024 16:32

Ahh all these scan pictures are so amazing, I can’t believe how much these little beans have grown in such a short time! Incredible ❤️

Cat2022 · 23/02/2024 16:43

Look at all those lovely scans, congrats guys!

we are quite lucky that they don’t charge for scan pics here and they give loads.

Wibbles64 · 23/02/2024 16:46

Lovely scan pics, I'm keeping everything crossed that will be able to share good news on Tuesday. Time just seems to be going backwards right now though especially after the recent news.

I am very lucky my boss has let me work at home since I had a horrible chest infection a month ago as there has been loads of covid and flu in the office, going to have to take every vaccine available as I usually catch everything.

Emmaev · 23/02/2024 17:16

Loving all these scan pics. Seen so many of us measuring ahead, these babies are growing!

Im not sure if I can wait 8 weeks to see baby again, but I don’t think my oh will want to pay out for another private scan haha

Decaffe · 23/02/2024 17:22

Is there anyone else who is still 2.5 weeks away from being 12 weeks, and from their 12 week scan?! 😅

SC126 · 23/02/2024 17:33

@Decaffe my scan is 2 weeks away. But I'll be 13 weeks for it. Still hate the waiting game.

HRP1990 · 23/02/2024 17:40

@Decaffe My scan is in 12 days and I’ll be 12+6! Also hate the waiting game @SC126 😩

Cinai · 23/02/2024 17:40

@Decaffe Me! I’m 9+5 today, but I have a private scan and NIPT booked for next week Friday at 10+5.
