as per suggestion in respect to the owner of the previous thread I’ve created a new (continued) thread for us.

Dating scan went well this morning. Now 1 day further along so 11+5 and due 18th September. Baby was constantly wiggling, kicking and punching which made it very hard to get a clear photo! Feeling very relieved and blessed xx

Due September 4.5 🐣♥️🧡💜

@WolfMother326 I would go with your gut on whether to change hospitals or not. The only thing I can suggest is that the new grading may help to push the issues the maternity service has been facing to the forefront, so it may improve relatively quickly?

YellowZ · 04/03/2024 17:13

@Honeyandsunshine1 that's still only 0.11% chance. That doesn't sound too worrying? Sorry I'm not great at maths, but is that 99.89% not going to happen?

@Xur ah yeh welcome to the pregnancy doldrums. 12-18 wks in my last pregnancy were strange - no bump, no movement, no symptoms - it's v much an anticlimax. Once you start to feel regular movements and people start noticing your bump it gets more exciting again.

@Xur I have days like this, like am I really carrying a little baby in there. In regards to having a baby, I felt the same with my daughter. I’d never held a baby and hers was the first nappy I ever changed. But when it’s totally down to you, you learn very fast.

Had my scan today too all fine 12+2 exactly same as LMP which is surprising as definitely ovulated later.

@hol92 if you had a scan at 9 weeks I’d just go ahead and tell them. My daughter’s first birthday is Friday so will be telling family this weekend too.

Do you think they date on size? I knew exactly when I ovulated with DS as I used ovulation sticks. The date I from my last cycle seemed accurate and at the 'dating scan' they pulled the date towards by a week. Born 11 days later than their EDD, and 9lbs, 95% height. A real whopper! I feel his date was due to his size not when he was due, perhaps why he was so overdue.

siobhanmt247 · 04/03/2024 18:19

I finally made it! Feel like I can breathe a bit now. I have the same due date as you @cd24x :)

Cat2022 · 04/03/2024 19:06

@lpylou yes definitely on size. My daughter is 99th centile for height and 91st for weight (she was 81st on birth) so not expecting this one to be small either. Was only 3/4 days ahead of what I expected but I’d been tracking ovulation.

Cat2022 · 04/03/2024 19:07

@lpylou she was also born 13 days overdue so I reckon similar to you and they came when they were ready.

YellowZ · 04/03/2024 19:10

Ah cute scan @siobhanmt247

@lpylou I've wondered about this too. My DS measured 5 days ahead at his 12wk scan (I used OPKs and temping so was sure of when I ovulated), and was born 12 days "late". This time round they're 5 days ahead again. Not sure if it's because the measurement isn't very accurate, or because my babies grow fast? I'm hoping I make it to sept with this one, for the school year. Due date is the 1st 😬

Kofifi · 04/03/2024 19:11

Congrats @siobhanmt247 and @cd24x beautiful scans!

Xur · 04/03/2024 20:13

Thank you to all ladies for the kind words, the recognition of the situation I described makes it feel more normalised 🫶

congratulations to due date twins @siobhanmt247 &@cd24x on the new cutie pie baby scans! 🥰

Yay, our little group bringing up the rear! 😁 I’m 10w4d today so due on the 23rd Sept. When are your 12 weeks scans? Mine will be on 12th March.

Glad you are able to eat things @Lillers!

@siobhanmt247 that’s been a tricky few weeks for you, a lot to process. Glad to see you back. How far along are you now?

I’m off to see an endocrinologist consultant at the hospital today - after eight years of trying to see one due to having a goitre, symptoms and out-of-range thyroid results (but GPs refusing to refer me), my booking in results were the worst they’ve ever been* Hmm so now all of a sudden they’re panicking and it’s all systems go…!

(*TSH 0.05, T3 6.7 and T4 normal at 17.0, for those of you who know about thyroid bloods!)

Edited

My scan is Friday 15th! So not too long to wait

Samwins · 04/03/2024 20:54

@Butterfly2000 thats amazing! When is your scan? Mine is Friday 15th, I’m nervous as my brain tends to think of everything that can go wrong. So just want to get it out the way

the tiredness has really started to reduce! I did find cyclazine made me sleepy too.

Today I’ve notice a lot of stretchy pain in my lower abdomen. Not pain as such but more stitch like.

is anyone else opted for a c-section?

FirstTimeMum897 · 04/03/2024 21:09

@YellowZ my due date is also September 1st and my boy is also measuring ahead so fingers crossed he does hang on for September 1st haha. I don't quite understand how the dating works, I think they are going by size. I hadn't had a period in months and months when I got pregnant pregnant so they couldn't go by that! And I wasn't testing for ovulation as I thought it was impossible to get pregnant without having my periods back.

My DH has a massive project at work finishing at the end of August so it will be a real headache if he comes early!

RosiePH · 04/03/2024 21:15

I think the dating must be by size! In my NIPT today, I went from an EDD of the 28th to the 27th and then finally the 26th September over the scan! Baby kept moving and looked like they were doing bicycle legs at one point, so the measurements changed as the baby straightened out. Exactly 3 weeks ago, I had my first scan and was said to be 7+1 at that scan. I’ve leapt forwards by 3 days to be 10+4 today.

Butterfly2000 · 04/03/2024 21:16

@Samwins I'm tired of being tired lol. Mines on the 14th, it still feels like a bit of a wait. I get occasional stitch pain lower down and also around my belly button

Samwins · 04/03/2024 21:21

@Butterfly2000 its funny how many symptoms there are that I was never even aware of! They don’t tell you any of this stuff 😅
I have days of feeling dead and hungover and then others where I’m full of energy.
i hope your scan goes well

Congratulations on your scans! Must feel so nice to reach that milestone.

@MrsM89 I'm guessing girl! Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that if they have a more rounded skull they tend to be girls ( I haven't done any of my own research on this!) but it's fun to guess

Ive heard this and felt one image was rounded and one was more square. Haha. Love a guess though. X
