Congrats to everyone on their scans today :)

@hol92 have you been checked for anaemia? I've been having heart palpitations and I think it's down to anaemia

tierneytarny · 01/03/2024 20:38

@MrsM89 I’m 10+2 (according to my midwife anyway) and I am sure I felt a flutter. This is baby three for me. I asked my mum and she said she thought it could be baby!

40andhopeful · 01/03/2024 21:25

How did your scan go @Cinai ?

Cinai · 01/03/2024 21:40

My scan went well 🥹 Measuring 11 weeks exactly…it was incredible, we saw tiny arms, legs. Such a surreal experience.

Ah that's amazing @Cinai Congratulations! Lovely scan. ❤️

Cinai · 01/03/2024 21:51

Thank you @40andhopeful

Xur · 01/03/2024 22:11

@Cinai awwww 🥰🥳 I’m very happy for you!

So many of us on the 15th! I had a scan at 10wks on the dot… so I can’t justify another one 🤦🏼‍♀️ everything looks great and progressed since 8 weeks so … I have to keep calm that come 12+6 all will be well

Ive not had blood taken yet. I’m so annoyed my midwife just seems shit already, forgetting times, doesn’t answer messages 🤦🏼‍♀️
why do they make it so hard!

Feel silly asking this as I'm sure it's probably not. But today I keep thinking I feel movements?! Anyone else on thier 3rd baby and felt anything yet? Xxx

Yes! Third baby here too, and I said to my partner I’d never dare say this out loud as I know nobody would believe me, but I genuinely do feel rolling movements when I’m laid down. Not very often, but undeniably there. Glad I’m not alone! X

Beautiful. So glad you had a lovely experience. A moment you’ll never forget! 🥹🥹✨

Honeyandsunshine1 · 01/03/2024 22:57

So we have lots of confirmed boys ✨💙 do we have any confirmed girls? I’m on the fence whether to keep this one a surprise or not, like our first was. Part of me absolutely loves it, it’s brilliant being handed a baby that’s essentially a surprise, BUT, I feel like now I’m older I’m much more impatient 😭😭🥲

Expectinglittlebean2024 · 01/03/2024 23:10

Hi, please can I join in too :) 1st time pregnant and had my 12 week scan yesterday at 13+0. Baby was adamant it wanted to lie down face first and wouldn't move! Anyone else had a scan where it looks like they had a massive jelly bean brain?

Butterfly2000 · 01/03/2024 23:44

@Xur I guess I better enjoy this lull in the sickness. I always have my ginger sweets with me incase it rears it's ugly head again!

@siobhanmt247 Are there symptoms of GD? Do you just need to continue the Metformin? I was on Metformin for my PCOS but stopped in the last few as I kept forgetting to take them

@Decaffe My scan is on the 14th I'm counting down the days!

Beautiful scan pics @Cinai @WolfMother326 @Expectinglittlebean2024

siobhanmt247 · 02/03/2024 02:08

@Butterfly2000 i had to wee a lot more but not sure if that was just a pregnancy symptom. Others say they feel thirstier or just off if they have a high sugar meal. They try control with diet first but my fasting numbers are higher do they prescribed metformin

Butterfly2000 · 02/03/2024 02:31

Thanks @siobhanmt247 I'm trying not stress what will be will be! My bloods are normal but weren't fasting. Got is already booked for July as I have a family history of diabetes and my weight 😒 They've pocked up on yours early. Hope it's plain sailing for you

Decaffe · 02/03/2024 04:39

Been awake since 3:30 after needing the loo. I could cry. Yet another Saturday ruined.

LSW82 · 02/03/2024 08:01

My scan is on the 13th , counting down the days! Once I get to Monday I can say it’s next week which seems better. Still constant nausea here & tired - I’m eating so much biscuits & crisps it’s ridiculous, trying to add in the odd orange & apple to make the snacking seem better!!!

Lillers · 02/03/2024 08:24

I went off butter in a big way early on. For some reason today ever since I’ve woken up my brain is imagining me eating butter and it’s making me feel really sick 😂.

HRP1990 · 02/03/2024 08:48

I’ve had some insomnia for the past few nights too @Decaffe not ideal 🥱 I’m going to have to nap when my daughter does this afternoon!

longingtobe23 · 02/03/2024 09:26

@Decaffe i was up all night with a migraine I have a girls weekend away (where only 2 people know)
so I am going to struggle 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

can see myself getting a taxi back to the hotel early for this one!

VT6 · 02/03/2024 10:06

The insomnia is a joke isn’t it😂 mine comes and goes which I think is worse as I get used to sleeping well then have two awful nights and I’m so exhausted again 😭

Decaffe · 02/03/2024 10:13

I ended up being awake til 6am then got a couple of hours after that. During which I had dreams which included that I started spotting, that a man was smoking near me and it was affecting the baby, and then for some reason there was a funeral! I can only think that I am so anxious right now. I’m stressed about work because my productivity has dropped off, and I’m worried about the 12 week scan and the NIPT test.

Also yesterday I was diagnosed with subclinical hyperthyroidism. Apparently it should have been picked up nearly a decade ago, despite my trying approx every 18 months to get referred to an endocrinologist but the GP always saying no. Due to the fact my thyroid hasn’t been medically managed in that time I am at greater risk of osteoporosis. They’re going to keep a close eye on me and on baby’s development and in the second trimester I may have to start thyroid medication. They also queried anaemia as some of my booking in bloods were out of range (and I am breathless/tired) even though the GP marked them all as ok Hmm

I just feel that I have been battling so much to get to this point with infertility, endometriosis and failed IVF, and now I’m here, I’m still battling. I would love one day of just being able to relax and enjoy it. But I feel I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sad

VT6 · 02/03/2024 10:15

I’ve hit my 12 weeks today though ladies, still very anxious but 6 days until my scan!

MudandMoet · 02/03/2024 10:22

@Lillers that's funny because I'm the same with butter. Started when I had a cob from a local bakery about 3 weeks ago. Christ knows what marge spread they used but I swear I could taste it for 3 days. I only use proper butter at home but haven't even been able to have any since. The thought of it makes me badly (and I usually lovvvvve lashing of butter!)

Still not getting more than around 4 or 5 hours sleep per night here. It's been weeks but I'm stuck in this ridiculous pattern now. Definitely joining the nap club later 🙌🏼

Lillers · 02/03/2024 10:45

@MudandMoet I’ve always loved butter too - for me it dates back to when I had some that tasted just a bit too sweet, and since then I haven’t been able to stomach it at all. I’ve been having toast dry, or just jam directly on it, and in sandwiches just using mayo as a spread (although I’m starting to be a bit funny with mayo now too so am only using the tiniest little bit!)

It’s not the worst aversion to have I suppose, but it is pretty inconvenient!
