Good that they’re keeping a close eye on you @Xur
I had my girl early due to pre eclampsia last pregnancy, my placenta was total pants. So I’ll be getting extra growth scans at 28, 32, 36 and 40 weeks, plus the 150mg of aspirin.
But extra scans are always welcome!
She was born 33+6 and 3lbs 8oz but a bright beautiful 7 year old now.
The nhs really are amazing if there is even a whiff of any problems. They were amazing when I had my daughter and been spot on this time so far!

longingtobe23 · 29/02/2024 19:51

@Lillers I just had a long catch up 😂 and I think it was you that said no scan date letter yet!
I’m in the same boat!
I am 11 weeks on Saturday, I had booking at 10 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I thought had have it in the post by now.
I will be calling like a mad woman on Monday if nothing in the post soon…

also hats off to those waiting for scans!
I’ve had 3 private and I intend on a 15+4 dating scan… anxious or what!

MudandMoet · 29/02/2024 20:07

@Xur welcome to the aspirin club! Pleased your results are not in the dangerously low bracket and it's good to hear they're on it with additional growth scans and appointments x

SC126 · 29/02/2024 20:08

@longingtobe23 if it helps I had my booking in app at 10+4 and my letter came through just past 11 weeks and I'm still in for a scan next week when I should be exact 13 weeks. So definitely still time. I hate the waiting game though. Ring your hospital ultrasound department if you don't receive soon and they will confirm over the phone. This is what I did as I noticed they had my address wrong on my maternity notes so my first letter was delivered to my neighbour right down the road who bless them hand delivered it me as for some reason they knew it was me (I didn't know them 🤣) but by then I'd already rang ultrasound.

WolfMother326 · 29/02/2024 20:46

@MudandMoet I think I missed your original post with your scan photo, lovely to see it!

Butterfly2000 · 29/02/2024 21:02

Thank you @YellowZ
@Samwins We're due the same week! I'm about 10w3d.
I feel massively already! My work dresses are getting tight, looking forward to getting some comfy mat clothes.

For those of you heading into the 2nd trimester or already there does the tiredness really get better?? I've never know tiredness like it! My nausea has calmed down a bit now thankfully

Lillers · 29/02/2024 21:10

Obviously quite often I’m here complaining about all the different ways I feel ill - I just want to indulge myself in a moment of gratitude that no matter how sick I’ve been or felt, I’ve been able to eat the whole time. Sometimes I can’t eat much, and I never actually fancy anything particularly, but every day my husband makes me food and every day I can eat most of it. For this I’m grateful, because I know some women absolutely can’t.

Now I’ve had my moment of gratitude, time to moan about how badly my legs are aching today - I actually got the foam rollers out that I normally use for race recovery!

Xur · 29/02/2024 22:02

@Butterfly2000 it’s in waves. I had it really bad from week 5 to 9, then week 10, 11 it got better and week 12 I’m tired again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lovely seeing everyone's scans and updates on them. It's such a milestone 🫶🏻

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @WolfMother326

I need @sansol to have a go at predicting my 13 week scan pic from
last week if I can be so rude as to ask...pretty please 🙏🏼 (I'll attach the pic again) I'm just so curious even though we can find out soon!

This is a tricky one as I can't see the nub, do you have others? And the skull isn't particularly round or straight. This one got me but if you have more pics I will try again!

siobhanmt247 · 01/03/2024 06:51

Hi all. I haven't posted in a while. Had an eventful few weeks. First I had to go to a&e as per epau for abdominal pain. It didn't feel like Mc pain but they wanted to double check it wasn't ectopic. They took my bloods and felt my tummy and felt confident baby was ok and we think it was gall stones. I've also been diagnosed with gestational diabetes so on getting my head around that diet again and I'm already on metformin for my fasting levels. Hopefully this is a sign that baby is still developing well as I've still not had a scan

Yay, our little group bringing up the rear! 😁 I’m 10w4d today so due on the 23rd Sept. When are your 12 weeks scans? Mine will be on 12th March.

Glad you are able to eat things @Lillers!

@siobhanmt247 that’s been a tricky few weeks for you, a lot to process. Glad to see you back. How far along are you now?

I’m off to see an endocrinologist consultant at the hospital today - after eight years of trying to see one due to having a goitre, symptoms and out-of-range thyroid results (but GPs refusing to refer me), my booking in results were the worst they’ve ever been* Hmm so now all of a sudden they’re panicking and it’s all systems go…!

(*TSH 0.05, T3 6.7 and T4 normal at 17.0, for those of you who know about thyroid bloods!)

HolyMoly24 · 01/03/2024 07:06

@siobhanmt247 I've been wondering where you are and hoping all is ok! Was going to ask but didn't just in case you didn't want to talk about it ❤️ that has all been a lot for you to deal with, but glad the medical professionals think all is well with baby.

siobhanmt247 · 01/03/2024 08:49

Thank @Decaffe @HolyMoly24 im 11+4. My 12 week scan is 12 weeks on the dot on Monday thankfully

@Decaffe your levels sound similar to mine but ive been managing my meds myself and take t3 which suppresses the TSH. The doctors never seem to have a clue what to do when I have an appointment

WolfMother326 · 01/03/2024 09:19

Ok a bit of hope for all you tired ladies out there. I have been the most exhausted human for the last 8 weeks, I could barely function. Yesterday at 13 weeks to the day (2nd trimester?) I had tons of energy and cleaned my whole house and went on a big adventure with my 2.5 year old. Like a switch flipped 🤣

Dating scan around lunchtime today!

VT6 · 01/03/2024 09:58

Good luck @WolfMother326 hope the scan goes well and that’s good news about your energy levels!
I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and hoping my energy levels are on the rise

Xur · 01/03/2024 10:29

@WolfMother326 good luck with your scan today!

MrsM89 · 01/03/2024 10:59

@WolfMother326 all the best for scan today. X

FirstTimeMum897 · 01/03/2024 12:02

Has everyone given up coffee? I can't manage without it. I have very very very low blood pressure so that won't help. Pre-pregnancy it was about 45/90.

I tried giving it up for a few weeks, just having one espresso a day and I found myself reaching for cakes and chocolate which is not good for you either.

I'm 13.5 weeks so I'm not as tired anymore but I'm soooo dizzy and light headed.

Emmaev · 01/03/2024 12:05

Good luck for your scan today @WolfMother326

how does every cope with this constant hunger? I’m gonna be at least 4 stone heavier by the end of this pregnancy. I can’t stop eating.

I was a total coffee addict before I got pregnant @FirstTimeMum897 i switched to decaf , it’s not quite the same. But close enough. I do have the occasional coffee though so haven’t cut it out completely.

40andhopeful · 01/03/2024 12:14

@Emmaev I have been waiting for someone to say this!! I also can't stop eating! It is the only thing that helps my nausea and I am literally non stop all day 🙈🙈
I had my booking in appt on Tue at 10 weeks and I asked them not to tell me my weight but I looked anyway ha! I haven't weighed myself in years but I was pretty shocked. I know we shouldn't worry about weight during pregnancy and of course, I don't mind when it is true pregnancy weight but this is just because I can't drop eating junk! Anyway, I keep saying it would be wrong to deny my body what it needs so I'm most going with it 😂

40andhopeful · 01/03/2024 12:16

@FirstTimeMum897 I am a coffee addict too but strangely since about 6 weeks the thought of coffee makes me feel sick so I haven't had any. It is saving me a fortune as I pass a Starbucks drive through on the way to work so usually stop for one in the morning!
This also happened during my first pregnancy but I can't remember if it lasted the whole pregnancy or just the first trimester

Emmaev · 01/03/2024 12:19

@40andhopeful yess my midwife weighed me at booking and it was more than usual. And I was only 9 weeks then. I’m almost 14 weeks now so I really dread to think, all I want is brown foods. I’m trying not to think about the weight and just lose it after

Xur · 01/03/2024 12:24

@Emmaev
well… 😅
I am coping the constant hunger by constantly eating 😂 I’ve gained about 4 kilos already 😂

HRP1990 · 01/03/2024 12:37

Good luck for you scan @WolfMother326!

@VT6 I was 12 weeks yesterday and I swear I’ve had double the energy since lol. (Let’s see how long it lasts - it’s been less than 2 days 😂)

@40andhopeful omg same! The thought of coffee made me feel super sick early on, I’ve also saved a lot on iced blonde latte’s though lol.

longingtobe23 · 01/03/2024 12:45

My dating scan isn’t until 15th March

oh my good Lord - I found on on January 10th so this is torture 😂
