Hello ladies,
as per suggestion in respect to the owner of the previous thread I’ve created a new (continued) thread for us.

@Lillers so yes I'd chase because if I hadn't they would never have seen me. I ended up having to research the email address of individual senior midwives and the leader of the hospital's maternity team to actually get a response

Emmaev · 28/02/2024 18:54

Has anyone heard about their 16 weeks midwife appointment yet? I’m 13+2 and just forever impatient

SC126 · 28/02/2024 19:07

@Emmaev my midwife told me to ring my gp (clinics are held there) and book my 16 week appointment myself after I have had the dating scan. It will depend on area though I suppose

Wibbles64 · 28/02/2024 19:17

Lovely scans ladies, happy for you all!

Thanks @Bakerbean, have asked my other half to come home with some fruit juice, will see how it goes.

@Emmaev my 16 wk appt turned up in badger notes the day after my booking in appointment.

After the shenanigans trying to get scan yesterday I feel sore all over that area- is it normal?

Lillers · 28/02/2024 19:29

@Emmaev I had to book my 16 week appointment on my way out from my booking appointment.

Emmaev · 28/02/2024 19:31

@SC126 @Wibbles64 @Lillers ive heard nothing, my midwife just said see you at the 16 week appointment and I’ve heard nothing since. I’ll give her an email tomorrow to double check. Thanks girls

LSW82 · 28/02/2024 20:03

I had my booking appt last Wednesday & my letter with scan appointment arrived on Monday, it’s not showing on Badger notes yet. My midwife just booked me in for 16 wk appointment when I was at booking, we always just booked the next appointment there & then for last pregnancy too but seems all areas do things a bit different

I got told by the lady who did my ultrasound to call my children's centre, called them today and they gave me an appointment date straight away.

Xur · 28/02/2024 20:19

Congratulations to all the ladies with the lovely scans @ForeverHopeful67 , @Bakerbean 🥳🥰
@Christie94 I think it looks like a girl! If you ask me why I don’t know, just a lottery guess! First thought-girl! 🎀
@Lillers I never even got my letter, they said they were gonna send it and it never came. The scan appeared in the app about 3-4 days after the initial appointment but without a location(there are two possible hospitals) , it just said “dating scan” and date and time. I had to ask where to go 😅

Congrats to all the lovely scans today 🥰 there is no feeling like seeing your little baby wriggling around ❤️ mine isnt until the 14th! Feels so far away!

@Christie94 I would say boy , only because the head shape looks similar to my boys one 😊

Is everyone finding out the gender? I wish I could just wait until the birth but I just love to know 😂

I'm finding out the gender because I'm a control freak and have to know.

But we are letting my partners little boy do the reveal so I'm not finding out during the scan

Hello everyone, would you mind if I join? Or actually re-join, as I posted once on the first thread, but have been quiet since. Decided I would prefer to wait until after my 12wk scan. I've been following along though. I'm also on a conception board thread with the OP of the September babies 4 thread, really sad to read her news.

I am 12+5 with my 2nd baby. I have a 2.5 year old son. I also had an ectopic pregnancy about 14m ago, which needed surgery.

Had a lovely scan yesterday, was measuring 5 days ahead, so my due date is 1st Sept. I wouldn't be surprised if they're a week late though, like my son.

Interested in the maternity clothes chat. I'm having to fasten my jeans using the hairband looped over the button/through the button hole trick, so will need to get a few bits soon. It looks like there are some nice jeans on Next? Bit expensive though.

My first was born in July, SO HOT. I had some great linen trousers that sat under the bump (no over-bump band) which came from ASOS and were much cooler than jeans with a bump band. I like the idea of dresses...but hate reaching around a bump to shave my legs 😂

Also having all the vaccines here too, I think the risks of getting flu or COVID during pregnancy are higher than any potential side effects. Especially as I've never had a bad reaction to a jab in the past.

I think you're having a girl!

Xur · 28/02/2024 21:24

@hol92

my mom is coming to visit us in April (me and my partner we are from two different countries and both of our parents live on opposite sides of the continent).
So I intend to book in a private scan for the week when she comes and I will bring her to the scan with me. When she will be visiting I will be 17 weeks so it’s the right time to have the gender looked at. It’s my mom’s first grandchild.

YellowZ · 28/02/2024 21:46

@sansol from the nub? Someone else said that too!

sansol · 28/02/2024 21:47

@YellowZ yes it's clear as day and the skull is round vs boy which is flat. I had a boy so remember analysing his skull. Lucky you I would love a girl! I'm 9 weeks so due 30th September. Scan booked 20th March.

YellowZ · 28/02/2024 21:53

@sansol I've got a little boy too. It would be nice to have one of each and have the experience of being a girl mum too... I'm trying not to think too much about it though until it's confirmed either way! Happy with another boy as well though, my son is a bit of a mummy's boy anyway

YellowZ · 28/02/2024 21:56

@sansol hopefully you'll get a good nub picture at your scan too, to speculate over! 😁

Emmaev · 28/02/2024 21:58

I’ve been analysing my scan to see if I can figure out if it’s a boy or girl but no luck. The scan does look a lot different than my girls though so I’m thinking it’s a boy.

We’re definitely finding out the gender but we’ll wait until the 20 week scan. My oh doesn’t want to fork out for another private scan as we’ve already had one boo!

HolyMoly24 · 28/02/2024 22:05

@hol92 I'm going to have a private gender scan at about 17 weeks so that our DD can come with us to find out. I think she'll enjoy it because at ours the lady doing the scan flicks a switch that turns the lights in the room pink or blue to reveal it. Sounds a bit naff but she will love it 😆

I'm not having an early private scan because my partner won't let me so I think I deserve it for having the patience of a saint this first trimester!

Omg, please could you try decipher mine? 🤪

Hi everyone, would you mind if I join? I've been following but have been a bit anxious and getting my head round it all so decided not to post for a bit. This is baby no1 for me.Loving all of your scan pics their so beautiful! My 12week scan is in a couple of weeks. Isn't it mad that we're growing these little humans and no-one checks on them for three months unless we go private! Dh and I have resisted a private scan although I think it would have calmed me a few times albeit temporarily. I'm loving the honesty about how everyone's feeling mentally and physically. Really looking forward to sharing the journey and hope I can be a support to others

fleur89 · 29/02/2024 02:53

@NotGeorgina looks like a girl based on skull shape. Very similar to my daughter's scan at this time in my first pregnancy.

Decaffe · 29/02/2024 06:40

Is anyone else in their tenth week and still struggling with tiredness? I had a 3.5 hour Teams meeting yesterday after which I had a 1.5 hour afternoon nap - the first time in my life I have ever done so as I can never usually sleep in the day!

Then this morning I have been awake since 5am and I am already so tired and dreading the working day ahead.

Congratulations to all who have had healthy twelve week scans.

Emmaev · 29/02/2024 08:16

I was just looking at my pregnancy app and it says baby jumps from 6.7cm and 73g in week 13 and by week 14 they’re 14.7cm and 93g seems like a crazy growth spurt!

sansol · 29/02/2024 08:27

@NotGeorgina I think a girl. The nub isn't as clear and has a fork end which could mean either but the nub is not pointing up and the skull is round. I'm no expert but I did read up on it when I was pregnant last time. I will be watching like a hawk at mine on 20th March :)
