I’m with you all with the exhaustion! The antibiotics I was given for my chest infection has a side effect of.. nausea. Perfect when I’m already feeling nauseous! and looking after a 2 year old today 🙃

My 12 week scan is next week and I’m hoping it’ll let up by then 🤞🏻 any other scans coming up!?

SC126 · 26/02/2024 20:02

Exhaustion overload here too. Feel like a total couch potato but I'll accept it as I know I'll have no time for resting with a newborn. I've also caught a cold from my lovely 5 year old so not getting much sleep due to congestion on top of everything else.

Lillers · 26/02/2024 20:04

Also exhausted here. As part of my risk assessment I’ve been allowed to come into work a whole 30 minutes later because leaving the house at 6.45 does not allow me time to wake up, get control of my nausea and actually be able to work. I pointed out that literally that half hour is probably the difference between me calling in sick or not, and they agreed it was beneficial for both parties 😂

cd24x · 26/02/2024 21:05

Joining the exhausted club. My symptoms seemed to have subsided last week, but today they've come back with a vengeance. I've spent most of the day laid on the sofa "working". I've developed a nasty cough so that isn't helping either.

@HRP1990 my scan is next Monday when I'll be 11+4. I'm wishing the days away as I'm so anxious about it.

Lillers · 26/02/2024 21:34

Tonight my husband is working late and I feel horribly guilty that I’m not giving my cat her usual evening play time. It is completely irrational to feel this guilty about not playing with my cat, who is perfectly capable of entertaining herself (although every so often she looks at me mournfully just to make sure she’s hitting the right guilt button).

It must be a million times worse for those you with children already!

MrsM89 · 26/02/2024 21:47

I've been being and feeling sick for weeks but today I have the weirdest sensation in my stomach it's on a whole new level. It's like swirling feeling like a washing machine going round constantly making me feel awful. Anyone relate? Xx

Lillers · 26/02/2024 21:50

@MrsM89 Ive had something similar over the last couple of days - up until now it’s been like “nausea - nausea worse - maybe be sick”. But now it’s “nausea - nausea worse - weird sensation in stomach coupled with wooshing feeling in head - very very very sick”.

I have no idea if that makes sense.

ForeverHopeful67 · 26/02/2024 22:01

Evening ladies! I just realised that getting into bed in the evening and catching up on all the posts throughout the day is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine 🤣! I didn't realise how much I look forward to it! Haha 💕

Totally can relate to some of the low mood posts, my daughter has additional needs, and currently I'm feeling so guilty that I'll be taking some of my time away from her to focus on baby ☹️

Also seen a few of you have your scans Wednesday! My (2nd) 12 week scan is also weds - hopefully this time all is ok and we can get dated! 🤞

HolyMoly24 · 26/02/2024 22:47

@Lillers I've been feeling guilty about not playing with my cat too!

I already have a 4 year old DD so I conserve the little energy I have per day to give her all the play and attention she needs between school home time and bed.

My partner has taken over cat play time though, I just try to give more treats and cuddles so she doesn't hate me ha

Decaffe · 27/02/2024 07:00

If you are someone who’s had sore/tender boobs since 8dpo, at what point does that go away? Should it go away?

Xur · 27/02/2024 07:41

@Lillers I’ve been feeling guilty over not wanting to have sex with my spouse. I don’t know, I literally could not care less. I can’t even be bothered to cuddle. And he’s been feeling very cuddly and he’s on the baby cloud. Why am I such a bitch. 😒

OP posts:
Emmaev · 27/02/2024 07:47

@Decaffe i had really sore boobs up to around 10 weeks. They’ve been fine since.

I had to take the day off work today, I was getting ready and blacked out. I’ve had a few dizzy episodes and was seeing stars, but it’s the first time I’ve actually blacked out.

YellowZ · 27/02/2024 08:32

@Decaffe mine feel much better now at 13wks. They were very painful before. I seem to remember them getting better in the 2nd trimester in my last pregnancy too.

@Lillers @MrsM89 oh gosh this sounds awful 😔

@Xur hmm i haven't been in the mood much either. I wonder if our bodies are like, hey we've already made a baby! Why would we need to have sex?

HRP1990 · 27/02/2024 08:35

@Decaffe my boobs have only recently started hurting which is strange as it was my first symptom with my daughter!

How are you feeling now @Emmaev? That sounds awful! Is it low blood pressure or something else causing it?

I feel the same @Xur I’d rather use that time wisely and sleep 😂

Xur · 27/02/2024 08:40

@HRP1990 @YellowZ
haha yes last night I was watching videos on some ethnic nomads and he was trying to cuddle me and be all cute and all I could think of was “come on already just let me watch how Mongolian nomads make curd cheese” 😂
Poor husband. I can imagine if it was reverse I would set the place on fire 🤣

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 27/02/2024 08:43

@Xur to be fair if my partner fobed me off to watch a video on cheese making.. I’d be high offended. But when it’s the other way around it doesn’t count 😂

Sydney1988 · 27/02/2024 09:55

@Emmaev Oh my goodness you poor thing. I had a majorly dizzy couple of days and went to GP yesterday who sent me to A&E. 12 HOURS. Being passed between A&E and obstetrics. Hell on earth. They did chest X-rays, bloods, ECG and all fine thankfully. Taken today off to rest. In rare cases dizzyness, feeling faint can be signs of a blood clot they said but also common at this stage (12 weeks today). How far are on are you?

Emmaev · 27/02/2024 09:59

@HRP1990 @Sydney1988 thanks girls. It’s settled down a bit now. I had a bit to eat which helped. At my midwife appointment my bp was lower than usual but not dramatically low. And all my bloods have come back normal.

Im 13+1 today. I work in a dementia care home and it’s so fast paced I knew if I went in I’d be feeling even worse.

I have read up about dizziness and it all looks very normal on the nhs website. I see my midwife soon so I’ll definitely mention it to her

Emmaev · 27/02/2024 10:02

@Sydney1988 also adding I hope you’re feeling better today and I’m so glad all came back normal for you.

It is scary though when it happens

GentleCat · 27/02/2024 11:47

Hi all, took a small break after saying hello last week as was getting anxious again that all was ok/not ok. I guess that's just the way it will be in between scans. 12+4 now.

@Sydney1988 I have had a couple of dizzy spells, also just walking up a gentle hill seems to send my heart bursting out of my chest, I think for the most part is normal but hope you are feeling better !

@fleur89 Thanks for the recco on Palmers, I am starting to feel weird about my body changing so much, if the marks can be avoided at all then I'll be trying this for sure.

@Martibum Hello fellow IE friend. Sorry to read that you have been feeling low. It seems to me it's quite common, it might help to talk about it when you go for your scan? And don't be afraid to let those around you know about it either. Some days I feel quite low and then feel guilty about it as should be happy. But there's a lot of things that can contribute to it, life circumstances etc.

@longingtobe23 Have also been feeling the exhaustion, now in week 12-13 it goes from one extreme to the other, energy bursts and then crashes later on. Feel guilty as by the time the I finish and the other half finishes work I am just a corpse again! Feeling guilty about not getting any exercise in.

It's definitely nice starting to tell people and make more plans. No scan again until 2 weeks time, counting down the days. And the vomiting is back with a vengeance now.

longingtobe23 · 27/02/2024 13:13

@GentleCat i am also feeling guilt for no exercise 🤦🏼‍♀️ but trying to pick up swimming again asap as I really want to keep that up during this pregnancy when the running/biking is too hard

I also haven’t walked my dog for god knows how long (obviously my husband takes him haha) but even now they say “let’s pop out for a quick walk”. And I just can’t budge… all my energy goes on work and sleep! I think I might need bloods I messaged my midwife and asked as still not had any 10+3 but I’ve a feeling iron/b12 is out of whack

rupertbear91 · 27/02/2024 13:30

I just got my blood results back from my midwife appointment in the form of a text from my gp saying my MCH and wbc are high so I need extra folic acid. Why it's taken 2 weeks to get the results I don't know but now I'm panicking that baby won't be ok

Cat2022 · 27/02/2024 14:07

@Emmaev I hope you are okay! I started seeing stars earlier today but hoping it doesn’t progress to anything else.

FuppinNora · 27/02/2024 14:54

To those living in Ireland don't forget to sign up for the free super valu bag - they have a free mam bottle and soother, sudocrem, bepanthen in it. Worth it in my opinion!

I'm absolutely exhausted but waking every blooming hour. My stomach feels really hard higher up now, after being on my feet all day yesterday I had to start rubbing it to get rid of tightness. I'd say people were thinking why is she rubbing her spare tyre 😂it isn't a rounded bump, it's out at top, in at middle and out at bottom.

Scan on Thursday, I'm hoping all is well since 10 week scan. I should be 13 weeks

LSW82 · 27/02/2024 15:24

Hi everyone, this is my first post but I’ve been reading for a few weeks!!! im currently 9wks, baby number 2- already have a wee boy who is 22months, had an early scan at 7 wks and all was looking good at that stage so just got a 2 week wait now until my nhs scan. Main symptoms for me are tired, constant nausea (been sick once) & horrible taste in my mouth!! Had bloods at midwife yesterday so hopefully they come back ok! Was in a group with my first & found it really helpful, the WhatsApp is still in full swing 🤣
