Im reading online that you only need to take prenatal vitamins up to 12 weeks. Is that right? My tub is about to run out soon and not sure if I need to get another

FirstTimeMum897 · 27/02/2024 15:46

@Kofifi I think folic acid only needs to be taken until 12 weeks. I was told to continue with vitamin D (I'm 13 weeks). I didn't take the whole prenatal ones as they made me ill and OB was not bothered by anything other than folic acid and vitamin D.

Martibum · 27/02/2024 15:57

@GentleCat thank you! My scan is tomorrow at 2 so hopefully after that I can start to refocus.

@FuppinNora forgot about them! Every little thing counts!

Emmaev · 27/02/2024 16:15

@Kofifi ive still been taking my pre natal but I think I’m only going to take them until mine run out. So probably be about 15 weeks then

Lillers · 27/02/2024 16:25

I spend a lot of time standing in my job and have found today really hard - even when I have had the chance to sit down, it doesn’t feel like the icky lightheaded-and-sick feeling goes anywhere. Also even though I’m only 9+5 it’s definitely getting harder to hide my tummy - whether it’s a baby or extra padding I can’t tell, but it’s very much there!

Wibbles64 · 27/02/2024 16:42

After worrying about it for the last month it's such a relief to see everything is normal at 12w5d, although it did take 4 goes to get what was needed. Fingers crossed for all the scans coming up

Also part of the absolutely exhausted club but happy that I've nearly left the beige food only one.

Is anyone else on the dispersible aspirin?

@Wibbles64 lovely scan. I'm on the aspirin too xxv

Cat2022 · 27/02/2024 16:52

@Kofifi I only took them until then last time as I still had bad sickness and they made it worse and had no issues but just depends how you feel.

fleur89 · 27/02/2024 17:05

@Kofifi I am taking proceive. There is a specific multi vitamin for each trimester, I'm about to start the second trimester pack. Also on proceive omegas, high dose vitamin D, iron (I do not eat meat) and take Symprove. Did the same with my healthy daughter.

MudandMoet · 27/02/2024 17:38

@Wibbles64 lovely scan 🥰 I'm also on 150mg of aspirin daily (14 weeks tomorrow) Ive been told to take my folic acid and vitamin D daily right through too.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 27/02/2024 17:56

All went well today and measuring good. Very pleased🥹🥹🥹❤️

I can’t believe a few weeks ago I was having a huge wobble and even had a termination booked for yesterday. So glad my head is in a better space now.

Hope everyone’s doing ok ❤️

Another aspirin gal here too 🙋🏻‍♀️ although, only 75mg? My first hospital said 150 then I switched hospitals and they said 75. So just gone with that, hope it does the trick? 😬

Conrats on a lovely scan, too 🥹 mine was upside down for most of it so couldn’t get the most precise measurements but she seemed happy anyway. The sonographer literally whispered so quietly the whole appointment, it was actually really hard to hear her 😂

Emmaev · 27/02/2024 18:01

Beautiful scans girls, makes it feel so much more real seeing them bounce around on the screen!

I’m on 150mg aspirin once a day @Wibbles64 hoping this babe will stay in longer than 34 weeks like my girl!

HolyMoly24 · 27/02/2024 18:07

@Wibbles64 @Honeyandsunshine1
Congratulations on the lovely scans 🥰 makes it feel so much more real.

HRP1990 · 27/02/2024 18:27

Aw amazing scans girls @Wibbles64 @Honeyandsunshine1

I’m so glad to hear you are in a better headspace and you decided to go ahead. I did think about you recently @Honeyandsunshine1!

I’m so glad to hear you are in a better headspace and you decided to go ahead. I did think about you recently @Honeyandsunshine1!

Aww, that’s so sweet of you 🥹 I am honestly a MILLION times better now, those early hormones really fucked me over 😂 much better headspace now. I feel like a different person!

how are you doing? 💝

HRP1990 · 27/02/2024 18:43

@Honeyandsunshine1 Aw that’s good to hear! How are you with your parents now? I remember that you were not too happy with their response. Lol yep those hormones are WILD - I’ve cried alot for no reason 😂

Time seems like it’s standing still at the moment but hopefully after my 12 week scan this week I can start telling people and living again 🤞🏻

Honeyandsunshine1 · 27/02/2024 18:51

@HRP1990 Oh, they’re now excited! 🥲😂 seeing their raw, unprepared initial reaction was definitely a dampener though. It’s actually solidified to me that I want to keep this pregnancy quite private. No social media posting or anything, just enjoying it without people’s fuss or questions 😂 we’ve not even told my in-laws. We next see them at Easter so I’m just going to rock up with a big old belly like “ 👋🏻 hey”.

When is your scan? Are you starting to get excited or are you feeling a bit anxious? I hope you’re ok, it’s always a bit of a nervy wait the week leading up, but I cannot WAIT to see your photo 🥹

Xur · 27/02/2024 18:57

@Wibbles64 that’s a lovely scan! 🤩
@Honeyandsunshine1 I was actually wondering about you yesterday! I’m glad to see you’re back on track, scan looks great and I’m pleased you didn’t go ahead with the termination ❤️

Honeyandsunshine1 · 27/02/2024 19:07

Lovely scan also @Wibbles64 🥹🥹🧡🧡 congratulations! How do you feel? Xx

VT6 · 27/02/2024 19:31

@HRP1990 i feel the same about living again 😂
I’ve literally been out and socialised twice since finding out (I found out at 3 ish weeks I think)
Ive still got 10 days to wait until my scan 😭

Lillers · 27/02/2024 19:44

Raaargh husband is working late again tonight so I have to feed myself. I also need a shower. I just have no energy at all to move from the sofa 😭

VT6 · 27/02/2024 19:45

@Lillers mines at the gym, I’ve never enjoyed the gym but suddenly I’m so jealous 😂

Wibbles64 · 27/02/2024 20:07

Thanks everyone- i've been a bit quiet on here as was so anxious but it really helped to be able to pop on at 4am and catch up, so thank you!

@MrsM89 ,@MudandMoet ,@NotGeorgina and @Emmaev - any tips for getting the dispersible aspirin down without gagging?!

@Honeyandsunshine1 lovely scan, glad you're in a better place and hope your little one was more cooperative than @NotGeorgina and I- our sonographer was lovely but had me jumping up and down, hula hooping and wandering the corridors.

Feel much less anxious now and much better for having fallen asleep on the sofa. Will take it as success at trying to relax a little bit 😂

MudandMoet · 27/02/2024 20:47

@Honeyandsunshine1 lovely pic and I'm so chuffed you're feeling much better 🥰 great update!

@Wibbles64 is yours the soluble aspirin? I'm just on standard tablets (75mg x 2) and not those you pop in water first. I don't think I could stomach the soluble ones tbh.
