Oh boy, the consistent waking up at 4:30 for a wee and being unable to get back to sleep afterwards is really starting to get old now…!

MrsB2019x · 13/02/2024 07:04

@Decaffe Right?! I’m up at 3:00 every night but not even for a wee, just because. I remember this with my DD and it lasted the whooooole pregnancy 😩

californiacooper · 13/02/2024 07:13

@Decaffe @MrsB2019x 4am for me! Every day for the last month. I'm generally getting up for a wee but I don't think that's the reason. It's exhausting. Does this not end then?! 😫

@RedFox24... this may not help, but I am the surviving twin of vanishing twin syndrome, and I've made it to 36 without too many problems 🤣 (or any, I'm fine. I don't even have any allergies) my mum always told me I ate my brother.... maybe don't tell your kid that one. She didn't know she was carrying twins either so didn't feel bad about it, was just glad I was okay.

Martibum · 13/02/2024 09:39

@Decaffe I'm waking up with hunger pangs at 3am :( I had this with my 1st pregnancy, I would be walking around the house at 5am not being able to sleep but that was much later on in the pregnancy. It's all coming back to me 😂

MrsB2019x · 13/02/2024 09:59

@californiacooper Yeah sadly it lasted the entire pregnancy with DD, I hope yours doesn’t though! I have today off work and I’m already trying to schedule when I can get a nap in 😂

@Martibum I did that yesterday! Was starving at 4:30 😩

Lillers · 13/02/2024 10:04

Ach, 7+5 and the nausea has well and truly progressed to full on sickness 😭. I was hoping it was just the odd day here and there but now it’s very much every day, sometimes twice. Luckily I’m off work this week anyway.

I had terrible insomnia for the first couple of weeks, but the last few nights I’ve been able to sleep through to about 5am (I know that’s still early but I normally wake up at 5.30 anyway, so it’s actually fine for me). I don’t know if the insomnia will come back but for now I’m happy to at least be able to sleep through.

siobhanmt247 · 13/02/2024 11:23

I'm still ravenous and I have the middle of the night pangs too. I've got my gestational diabetes blood test tomorrow morning and I have to fast. That is going to be torture

cd24x · 13/02/2024 12:19

@Decaffe @MrsB2019x @californiacooper Count me in for the 4am club! I don't remember having this with DS. Having to get up to pee during the night I can remember but I always managed to get back to sleep.

@siobhanmt247 I didn't realise they would do fasting blood tests this early? They screened my booking in bloods last week for GD but I didn't need to fast. However I'll have the fasting bloods (with the horrible drink) later on.

8+5 today and just got home after my booking in appt. Looks like I'll be having lots of appointments as I'll be seeing the consultant a lot - I had a massive bleed after my c section with DS that I completely forgot about which puts me firmly in consultant led category. Also got appointment booked for VBAC clinic just to see what my options are. And my NHS trust have now decided to throw in a 3rd scan at 36 weeks for all because they were having such issues with measuring babies accurately. So that's a bonus! NHS scan on 4th March when I'll be 11+4. The next 3 weeks are going to drag...

rupertbear91 · 13/02/2024 12:24

I just got back from my booking appointment too @cd24x and am going consultant led and to see a genetic specialist midwife... not sure which question ticked that box but lots of appointments to come I think!

I also mentioned my 2 weeks of brown discharge/bleeding and she checked my records and my results from EPU 2 weeks ago showed thrush and that can cause it (as well as possibly from my vanishing twin) but no one bothered to call me. So hoping I can get that sorted and it will ease off 🤞

siobhanmt247 · 13/02/2024 13:10

@cd24x i don't know if it's because I was on insulin last time but I didn't think you could get it at 9 weeks anyway as I though it was caused by the hormones from the placenta

MudandMoet · 13/02/2024 14:10

Just checking in girls! I've not got anything to report as it's just a waiting game for the next scan, I'll be 13 weeks when it is on the 22nd. It's weird because everything just seems too normal. Still not told anyone too 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Definitely in the sleepless nights club. Waking up at least 3 times for a wee and cannot sleep more than 3-4 hours per night, I've never needed a lot of sleep but this is taking the piss now.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Wishing you all a lovely pregnant momma valentines for tomorrow ❤️😘

HRP1990 · 13/02/2024 14:29

Exactly same! Feel like I haven’t posted for ages but I also don’t have much to contribute. Nausea is slowly subsiding thanks to the sickness bands I think!? I’m sleeping well, the only annoying thing is being out of breath all the time 🤷🏻‍♀️ I walked upstairs with a cup of tea this morning and had to sit down as my heart was beating so fast 😂 what a mess.

Hope you’re all managing to keep some pancakes down! X

Decaffe · 13/02/2024 15:36

So sorry that so many of us are in the sleepless nights club. I’m really starting to worry about the impact on my being able to work over the next few weeks as well!

Nothing much to report here either. I had a 2.5 hour booking in appointment yesterday at 8w0d. Going to be consultant led and have a two hour appointment on Friday morning with the consultant, an endocrinologist consultant, and to get my bloods as the midwife wasn’t able to yesterday. My veins vanish upon sight of a HCP!

I should get the date for my 12 week scan on Friday so I’ll book a private reassurance scan in a couple of weeks to tide me over.

You may remember I was worried about not really feeling nauseous apart from a bit of retching after brushing my teeth. Well, I started feeling ever so slightly nauseous yesterday lunchtime, it was really mild all day but eventually culminated in me losing half my dinner. Then we went out for lunch today, I went to the toilets and the slight whiff led to a small sickness there too.

So I guess I needn’t worry any more!

I am so shattered, honestly I would love to be signed off for a bit, but thanks to the leave I took after my surgeries I don’t have any paid sick leave remaining which is a real shame!

Fik88 · 13/02/2024 15:38

I wake up several times a night too and takes me ages to get back to sleep. I have also had my booking appointment today which will be midwife led and got my scan date for the 7th March, still ages to wait

RachSmile · 13/02/2024 15:44

Just had my booking appointment, all starts to feel a bit more real now! She did my bloods and my arm is properly aching afterwards, is that just me?

hope everyone is doing well, I can’t believe how fast this month is going ❤️ x

Lillers · 13/02/2024 15:48

God this one is TMI and embarrassing, but if I can’t ask here then where can I? Has anyone else had sickness triggered by…the smell of their own farts? 😂
Not that I’m a terribly flatulent person, but literally twice now I’ve let one go under a blanket, it’s crept out the top and triggered a sickness episode 😂😭

Xur · 13/02/2024 15:48

Me being the professional hibernator that I am, I will wake up every night once to go to the loo, but I have no problem falling back asleep.
12 week scan next week, not much going on, still getting some nausea, not much today, but the last two days I did have. Also these are going to be my last days with the progesterone pressaries. I have 3 pessaries left and that’s it, hopefully my placenta will kick in and make enough on its own.

WolfMother326 · 13/02/2024 16:00

@Xur I was told I have to keep doing the pessaries til 16 weeks! I really am sick of them but afraid to stop.

Xur · 13/02/2024 16:09

@WolfMother326 I was only prescribed one box, which was 30 tablets. So I have no choice. I’ve not miscarried before it’s just that in continental Europe it’s quite common to offer progesterone to first time pregnancies because it’s well known that bodies do not always instantly know what to do. I was given this by a private doctor abroad so no-ones giving me any more here. My midwife even said “we don’t do that in this country” .

MrsB2019x · 13/02/2024 16:44

Eeeeek all our 12 week scans are coming round so fast. So exciting 🧡🧡🧡

MudandMoet · 13/02/2024 17:14

@HRP1990 ahh yes pancakes for pudding tonight, good job you said else I'd have forgotten! How are you sleeping okay!? Sounds like there's a few of us need the secret! I go up at 11 ish and get up 7 ish but I'm awake far more than I'm asleep in between those hours.

A few of us seem to be in that lull stage where there's not a lot happening, though I agree February does seem to be ticking by quite quickly!

@Lillers 😂😂 made me chuckle!

HRP1990 · 13/02/2024 17:23

You want to know the secret @MudandMoet Get yourself a toddler 😂 honestly after a day with her I’m ready for bed when she is.

I do know it gets harder to sleep the bigger you get, so I’m waiting for the insomnia to creep up on me. Has anyone thought about getting a pregnancy pillow yet? I’m dying to get mine out the loft already - they’re heaven.

MudandMoet · 13/02/2024 17:53

@HRP1990 😂😂 that explains it!

I was recommended a pregnancy pillow a few threads back and can't remember which it was 🤦🏼‍♀️ but as I'm a tummy sleeper I'll definitely be investing.

Caroline2023 · 13/02/2024 18:50

I’m also unfortunately in the 3-4am wake up club and really struggling with it!

So exciting to see 12 week scans approaching!

@Xur @WolfMother326 i was told to stop my progesterone pessaries at 8 weeks which is today. I’ve got 2 weeks supply left though so I am going to keep going until 10 weeks, which they said is fine

Xur · 13/02/2024 19:00

Haha ladies, you know Valentines tomorrow. 💘
My man came home from work today with flowers today already! And not one bouquet but two! 😂 I asked him why two he said one is for me and one is for the baby 💕.
when I asked why today he said he thinks tomorrow when he’s coming from work all the nice bouquets will be picked out by 5PM and only shitters left. “So I went and picked nice ones today instead!”

awwh 💖😭
