@Xur Aww! That’s so lovely! My dh only came home with a grumpy attitude because he’s realised that with me feeling so sick, chances of any hanky panky on Valentine’s Day are very very slim 😂.

Hello Ladies

Can I ask please if allowed.

I am 7W5D today been tired and nauseous past few weeks but today I had a sudden burst of energy at work and no nausea or fatigue not sure if adrenaline or not or that Ive had ginger based soup a couple of days ago, and probiotics that helped.

I've had past losses so i am scared. Is it normal to feel this way at this stage? Thank you xxx

Lillers · 13/02/2024 19:10

@mrsmb03 Hey, welcome, I’m also 7+5!

I’m not an expert and this is only my first pregnancy, but what I’ve picked up from following this thread for a few weeks now is there seems to be no real correlation between severity of symptoms and health of the pregnancy. Some people have had symptoms the whole time, some hardly any, and some have been really up and down.

I know that doesn’t help, but hopefully you’ve just had a great day today and everything is fine!

MrsB2019x · 13/02/2024 19:31

@Xur Oh that’s so sweet! 🥹 he’s a good’un!

californiacooper · 13/02/2024 21:22

@xur I have a fridge full of unused progesterone pessaries and I think injections (and clexane and some other things) and I really wanted to know if it would have helped (or help) to take it now (or it's probably too late) by having conceived naturally my ivf doc wished me congrats and all the best when I told him 🤣😨

Xur · 13/02/2024 21:31

@californiacooper it prevents cramps and can prevent bleeding that can eventually become a miscarriage. Progesterone intake is a means to prevent the body accidentally miscarrying the baby (just because it doesn’t know how to maintain)

ForeverHopeful67 · 13/02/2024 21:42

Evening ladies! Been a while since ive posted so just catching up on all the posts 🥰

God I forgot how hellish it is having a stinking cold whilst pregnant and not being able to take any cold & flu tablets or soothers or anything 😭 that coupled with a horrendous return of sickness over the last two days it has not been a fun week.

I have my 12 week scan on Thursday though - can't believe it's here already!

Is anyone having the flu jab? Midwife said I should get one, I did last time as I was pregnant through out winter but not sure whether to this time!

MrsM89 · 13/02/2024 21:54

@Xur Ive got my progesterone till 15 weeks. But like you say is prescribed cause my body just doesn't seem to know how to maintain a pregnancy without it. It's interesting other countries just give to all though. I wonder what level of losses that would stop. Given that we had to go though 3 before getting it the first time. Xx

californiacooper · 13/02/2024 22:01

@Xur yes I know! I'd feel so much less worried if someone had told me I should be taking it!!

FuppinNora · 14/02/2024 00:07

@ForeverHopeful67 I've been thinking the same, my GP asked me about the flu jab. I agreed to it the next time I go see her. It will be nearly April when I see her though so not sure there is any point?

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 14/02/2024 02:06

I've just had the results of my NIPT test and found out it's a boy 💙it's suddenly so so real!!!

Kate543 · 14/02/2024 02:39

@ForeverHopeful67 they gave me the flu vaccine after my 12 week scan which I wasn’t expecting but since they offered it there and then I thought why not

VT6 · 14/02/2024 03:31

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 congratulations 💙💙I literally can’t wait to find out the sex but my partner is adamant he doesn’t want to know 🙄
I’m 100% going to convince him before 20 week scan 🤣 so any tips from anyone are welcomed haha

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 14/02/2024 03:51

@VT6 we are both of the opinion that there's loads of surprises to come when having a baby and it also really helped make it super real for DH! It's his little boy rather than "a baby"

californiacooper · 14/02/2024 03:59

Whyyyyyyyy??? Why 4am?!?!? Every damned day!!!

VT6 · 14/02/2024 04:35

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 thats lovely! I’m sure I’ll think of something nearer the time or I’ll just say yes at the scan🤣

VT6 · 14/02/2024 04:36

@californiacooper don’t I’m still not sure how I’m managing to function daily! I’ve been awake since 3am - feels pointless trying to sleep now

Starlight11111 · 14/02/2024 05:41

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 ahhhhh congratulations!!!!! That is so exciting. It's less than a week until our NIPT now so I can't believe I'll also know the sex in the next few weeks. Were all the other results low risk? X

MrsB2019x · 14/02/2024 06:12

Congratulations @TTCSoManyQuestions88 ! 💙

@californiacooper I was up at 4:30 and was actually kinda chuffed it had been pushed back a bit later than the usual time I’m up 😂

Decaffe · 14/02/2024 06:22

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 14/02/2024 02:06

I've just had the results of my NIPT test and found out it's a boy 💙it's suddenly so so real!!!

Ah that’s lovely! How many weeks are you?

My Trust will do the NIPT but only if I come back as high risk on the initial screen. That said, given my age (over 40), I’ve heard it’s quite likely I’ll automatically come back as high risk. But if we come back as low risk then we’re still going to pay for the NIPT privately.

Another 4:15 wake up! I literally said out loud ‘you have got to be JOKING’ when I checked my watch 😩

Decaffe · 14/02/2024 06:24

Also, how do you choose an NIPT provider? It seems like there are a lot of options and price points these day. Who is reliable?!

Cat2022 · 14/02/2024 07:21

Solidarity to all of you waking at 4am although mine isn’t caused by the pregnancy it’s my little human alarm clock who hasn’t been sleeping very well the past two weeks.

MrsM89 · 14/02/2024 07:22

I have been thinking my lovely often Co sleeping little girl is to blame for my 4am wake ups. Now I'm staring to think im waking her rather than her waking me..... Opps

Xur · 14/02/2024 07:51

@MrsM89
Well, UK is the first country I’ve seen in which it’s considered normal to have a miscarriage. Just to give you a perspective…
My family lives across 3 different European countries (I live in the fourth) and in neither of them it’s considered normal to miscarry. Any pregnancy is managed by a ob/gyn in all of these 3 countries.
All ob/gyms have an ultrasound scanner in their office and are trained to use it whenever required. Ob/gyns take the HP. Smear every year after 25 and it’s considered normal to have a transvaginal scan on the same day on the same appointment to check for any growths or issues. It’s not common to live with fibroids or polyps either.
from these 3 other countries where my family lives in only one such a thing as midwife exist and their only role is to work in the hospital and to assist in the child birth, they don’t do anything else, except manage the childbirth. They are actually doctors educated to a degree, not like here.

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 oh wow! Congratulations on the gender news!! Now you’ll start to think what to buy etc. I’ve always believed finding out the gender gives room to imagining the style and the personality of the baby 💚

tierneytarny · 14/02/2024 08:25

To all those expecting their third, what are we thinking car wise? I’ll need to try fit three car seats in the back and my eldest is still rear facing (only just turned four).
