@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh really, I guess they are super stretched like all of the NHS. Hopefully they have a bed when baby is due to arrive 🤣

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 10:01

I keep thinking what if there’s no rooms and baby is born in a corridor 🙈 x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/01/2024 10:07

@anony1111 and @Mummapenguin20 ha I do think that too! But apparently they just send you away to another hospital (I asked the midwife). The hospital I've opted for (closest) apparently isn't all that good, so another hospital may not be a bad thing 🤣

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 10:10

I Labour so quick I don’t think I’d make another hospital 🙈 hoping I’m in and out this time x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/01/2024 10:16

@Mummapenguin20 oh gosh, well a quick labour does sound very positive though! They'll no way send you on I'm guessing 🤣 x

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 10:17

My longest was 4 hours and that was my first. My second was 3 contractions. 7mins in total and my 3rd 3 hours x

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 10:19

I keep thinking this one’s coming early had a few ouch contractions. And lost some of my plug hopping he hangs on a week or so because daddy has flu xx

anony1111 · 24/01/2024 11:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @Mummapenguin20
In the corridor 🤣🤣 I was sent to a different hospital with my first as there were no beds in my planned hospital and it was no bother at all.

Oh wow that is super fast, 7mins is crazy!! My mum ended up having my sister at home (not planned) and my brother in the back of an ambulance as she labours super fast too, i wish I got the memo!
I hope baby keeps cooking a little longer until Daddy has recovered

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 11:47

@anony1111 just imagine a corridor of women giving birth haha x

Ihatewinding · 24/01/2024 12:03

At my local hospital there's a reaaaaally long corridor to get to the delivery suite and defo had a number of babies born on trolleys being whisked down by paramedics there!
Had the drip for my first so no idea how fast will labour (hopefully) naturally this time around, especially if do manage to get baby out of back to back position 🤔

DmcinT · 24/01/2024 12:31

Scan today before I’m in on Friday and she’s back in head down position 🎉 please god she stays like that now for Friday. @Mummapenguin20 7mins, wow that is fast, like had u contractions for long before this? I don’t think I’d have time to get to another hospital either, nearest is a few hrs away so hopefully it’s not too busy 🙈

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 12:32

@DmcinT my waters had been gone 48 hours so I was in to be induced. I lay on the bed at 630 and said I felt that (1st contraction) she was litrally on my chest at 637 x

msp2023 · 24/01/2024 12:45

Thoroughly enjoying hearing about these quick labours - gives me hope
😅

Cheetocat · 24/01/2024 12:47

@Mummapenguin20 Thats amazing, seven minutes sounds like a dream.

Hoping all of us here have a short and sweet birth. I'm so excited for my little boy to be out and to meet the strong legs that have been kicking me every day!

Cheetocat · 24/01/2024 12:49

My mother had four c-sections and my sister had three c-sections so I have no idea what natural birth is like for people in my close family. I know my birth experience would never be the same as anyone else's but it would be nice to hear how long their labours lasted and such.

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 12:51

I am looking forward to not having my cervix head butted haha xx

KayakingBex · 24/01/2024 12:59

@Mummapenguin20 yeah the cervix head butts are painful 😅

Mummapenguin20 · 24/01/2024 13:01

@KayakingBex very he’s been head down 10 weeks too so it’s not even a recent thing haha x

anony1111 · 24/01/2024 13:10

@Mummapenguin20 🤣 it honestly wouldn't surprise me these days with how stretched the NHS is! Hopefully we all have our own calm peaceful labour room though 🤞🏼

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/01/2024 13:12

Tbh if it's a lovely quick one, wouldn't mind giving birth in the corridor!

amyg1985 · 24/01/2024 13:28

Baby is now head down - hurrah! 37 weeks now so hopefully very unlikely to turn back

Hope your baby stays put @DmcinT

Thinking of you @Shrillwaffle - hope all goes well x

anony1111 · 24/01/2024 14:06

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I was thinking the same and I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid in full blown labour anyway 🤣

anony1111 · 24/01/2024 14:07

@amyg1985 glad baby is head down now! They love to keep us on our toes even before they are born don't they 😂

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/01/2024 14:12

I'm starting to get a very strong feeling he's going to be here soon. I'll be shocked if he's still in there by the end of next week 😄

Meeting · 24/01/2024 14:18

I wish I was getting that feeling @CheeseAndCrackersx ! I'm 38 weeks today and feel so ready, every inch of the house has been cleaned, bags packed, nursery ready and baby super low down. What signs are you getting, maybe I'm just missing them but I don't feel much going on?!
