@Sunshineclouds11 I had my first December 2019. I have no idea of that, my second and this baby are both elective sections so haven’t had to know any info about going over. I’m in Scotland and I know when I had my first different health boards were different. Mine didn’t induce till 41&6 with the hope of baby being born by 42 but my friend in a different health board wasn’t allowed to go any further than 10 days over.

Hopefully baby comes once your stitch is out and you don’t need to put up with the pupp much longer. I scratched so badly I used to wake my partner up, it was awful. i’d wear layers in the daytime to make it harder to scratch. Maybe if i’d been pushier about it they’d have induced me but I just went with what I was told at that time. Probably would have had more to say if it was now.

@DmcinT sorry forgot to tag you there

Mangotango39 · 10/01/2024 04:19

Going to 42 weeks would be brutal - I can't imagine 7 more weeks of this - I am exhausted!

suppose GD has an upside with earlier baby.

Clueless13 · 10/01/2024 07:26

@FTMCHD congratulations!💕 glad you’re all doing well and praying you’re home before you know it! xx

Clueless13 · 10/01/2024 07:27

@LavenderSweetPea what snacks are you planning to take for your labour bag?

I read a couple of suggestions online that said Lucozade/nuts/popcorn but don’t actually know what to pack!

LavenderSweetPea · 10/01/2024 07:46

@Clueless13 this is my first so what I've packed Vs what I'll actually want, I may have got it way off! But here's what I got:

Lucozade sport - good for all the electrolytes and easy to drink bottles
Freddos - I have a chocolate addiction and I thought little bars that can be eaten quickly rather than getting all melty might be good
Apples - fibre and sugar
Protein bars - figured it could be a good idea to have a savoury more filling snack
Yoghurt pouches - obviously not packed these yet as they need to be in fridge but my thought was if I can't stomach anything solid, they have protein and sugar so might be a good alternative.

I booked the holiday. It’s only 4 nights to the lakes, it will be fine I’m sure.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 10/01/2024 08:56

@FTMCHD huge congratulations ❤️

Musicalitymum · 10/01/2024 09:04

The carpal tunnel is really annoying me now. I went to bed with painful hands last night so I’m not playing my instruments today. I’m looking forward to having normal hands again after the baby is born.

@FTMCHD Congratulations! I’m so excited for you and your little girls! x

Cheetocat · 10/01/2024 09:24

@Musicalitymum I'm the same, my hands are so uncomfortable and tingly and it's a bit painful to grasp things. My fingers go numb when I'm using my PC sometimes!

AllAboardTootToot · 10/01/2024 10:21

Congratulations @FTMCHD ❤️❤️❤️

The hands situ is no joke, have carpel tunnel on right now my left gets so itchy at night time it’s annoying trying to sleep. I’m over being pregnant 🙈😂

On a more attractive note, is anyone else really struggling with constipation? Not sure what we can take?

@AllAboardTootToot one of the many delights of pregnancy 🤣 I have suffered all the way through unfortunately! The doctor prescribed me lactulose which helps a little bit

CheeseAndCrackersx · 10/01/2024 11:05

Those which have formula fed previously, how many tubs would you say you went through a week or even a month?

I shop monthly currently so when I go the end of the month I obviously want to try my best to get as much in as I can.

I know it can vary if very hungry baby but I'm just thinking standard

amyg1985 · 10/01/2024 11:08

Yes, lactulose is some help - you can buy it over the counter if it's a pain to get a prescription @AllAboardTootToot

Mummapenguin20 · 10/01/2024 11:13

@CheeseAndCrackersx one a week at newborn x

Sunshineclouds11 · 10/01/2024 11:21

@CheeseAndCrackersx One a week.

CharXo · 10/01/2024 11:44

@CheeseAndCrackersx i wouldn’t buy too much to begin with just incase the one you pick doesn’t agree with baby for any reason. My last baby I started on cow & gate but had to move over to Hipp Organic as cow&gate just wasn’t right for him 😀

xTinkerbell · 10/01/2024 11:52

@CheeseAndCrackersx roughly one a week I think though I can’t really remember.

@Mangotango39 it was brutal! I was actually glad to have an elective section with my second because I knew i’d never be that pregnant again

Ebonythoughts · 10/01/2024 12:30

Those packing snacks, please try not to pack anything containing nuts in case you’re in a shared ward and not a single room before/after delivery. My sister has a severe nut allergy and someone on her post delivery shared ward has snacks with nuts and my sister ended up in intensive care with her reaction to it so it can be life threatening for those around you.

AllAboardTootToot · 10/01/2024 12:57

Thanks @anony1111 and @amyg1985 will pop to chemist later.

What a time to be alive 😂

You’ve probably already been recommended this but ground flaxseed and pregnancy probiotics. And soups if you have vegetable aversions(I dont know why pregnancy made me-a vegetarian - hate veg but it has!).

Gosh that’s awful, but unless nuts are banned in all public places shouldn’t the nurses and midwives help make sure that this is communicated? This thread after all only has a few people compared with the many thousands in hospital every year.

Ebonythoughts · 10/01/2024 15:33

I completely agree, I’m not sure why it isn’t. My midwife advised me not to pack any but as you said this isn’t the standard and it should be.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 10/01/2024 16:10

More research needs to be done in to what more pregnant women can have when full of cold/flu when pregnant.

I'm so over being ill, felt the same as I have since Sunday no less.

I miss bronchostop medicine 😄

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/01/2024 16:53

@Ebonythoughts oh gosh I didn't think of this. Last labour I was actively told to pack nuts and nut bars by the midwives as I had GD and the hospital didn't cater for it. I was only allowed to eat a few nuts and a few spoons of plain yoghurt through the whole 24 hours
