Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

@TTCnewbies hage you tried the caffeine free Diet Coke? I personally think it’s banging, but I also know some people who wince the moment I say the word “diet coke” in that sentence 🥲😂

@eausolovely im in London, else I would’ve loved to! 🥹

MrsB2019x · 03/01/2024 20:03

I don’t drink tea or coffee but always have a can of Coke a day… it’s like a midday pick-me-up and gets me through the afternoon! Gonna try and swap it for Pepsi max soon though 😣

I haven't, I'll give it a go! Worth a shot! Thank you.

Good morning all,

Have to say, couldn't agree more strongly, Yorkshire tea is the only way to go! Luckily I've always had decaf tea so that's one less change to make.

I'm a little worried about line progression, and really I know the answer is just stop testing. I'm struggling (understatement) with fear of losing this pregnancy as that's my only experience being pregnant, and I'd really love to see a big line jump. Equally if they start disappearing it will give me a heads up of what's to come. These tests are 10DPO (top) to 13DPO (bottom), technically AF due tomorrow. Expecting today's (13DPO) to look the same as yesterday's once it's dried. Have anyone else's tests progressed slowly like this?

Thanks in advance, please help give my head a wobble! X

@Nic17 HCG (roughly) doubles every 48-72 hours so if you put the 10dpo and 12dpo tests together, and the 11dpo and 13dpo tests together you’ll notice more progression that way ☺️
(I’m an absolute hypocrite because I also tested every day and even did one this morning at 5+1 🤣)

I'm also paranoid about line progression and testing tons. I need that reassurance. That said I think your lines do look fine. HCG is meant to double every 48 hours so you might see a darker line in the next day or two.
If you look at mine they also haven't jumped tons the past day.

How early can you get checked for am ectopic pregnancy? Would the pain be severe? I'm still getting cramps, mostly period cramps but getting the odd sharp pain in left ovary (or that sort of area) I'm 4+ 2 today so don't know whether these pains are just standard or whether to become worried?

MrsB2019x · 04/01/2024 09:30

@TTCnewbies When I had my ectopic I went in at 5 weeks exactly, they scanned me and could just about see where the mass was in my tube, it was tricky to find though.
In terms of pain it felt like someone had their thumb pressing as hard as they could on my ovary, it was constant and it didn’t come in waves.

Do you have any bleeding?

MrsB2019x · 04/01/2024 09:30

Lines are looking great @SC126 🥳

WolfMother326 · 04/01/2024 11:16

good morning everyone, hope you're all feeling well!

@MudandMoet just a little update. I am not cramping anyway, and no more spotting. I did call the EPU and they are going to see me on Tuesday because even if it was implantation spotting, they like to check apparently in case they think you need progesterone. It will be good to just check that everything is ok before we go away on Thursday. I'm not sure if I'll start the progesterone or just wait and see if I need it. I already take vitex which naturally stimulates progesterone, and I did have a healthy pregnancy before my miscarriage, so I am just going to think about what to do and speak to the doctor or nurse.

Jeyla1230 · 04/01/2024 11:22

Is it normal to get plain in ovaries? Was a strong pain for a few mins but then left and haven't had it since. Was in the left side then right, but no bleeding? I wasn't doubled over in pain or anything .

MudandMoet · 04/01/2024 11:38

Those lines look to be really good @Nic17 and @SC126 - it's so hard not to worry. That 12 week stage cannot come quick enough for us all, though I'm sure there'll still be the odd worry and symptom checking then. Is it September yet??? 😫

@WolfMother326 I'm pleased you've had nothing since and that you're going in on Tuesday for a check before you go. I read about the progesterone after my last MC but I thought I'd read they only give it after your third MC as a precaution (I could be totally mistaken here because I've read that much shit these last few years 🤯) it's good if they'll give you some if they think you need it even as a precaution.

I'm going to ring the MW any time soon and start the ball rolling. I'm only 5+4 but I'm not sure if there might be a back log with the Christmas break.

@Jeyla1230 I think it's normal to have some small painful twinges on one side occasionally, I'd say if it's persistent contact your EPU. No bleeding is a good sign too.

emmatcc1 · 04/01/2024 11:45

@Jeyla1230 Very normal. I occasionally get pain in both ovaries and around the uterus.

WolfMother326 · 04/01/2024 11:50

@MudandMoet the NHS guidance is that if you have had one miscarriage and you are pregnant and have had any bleeding, you are eligible for progesterone. If you have had three previous miscarriages, you can start taking it from the day you find out you are pregnant, regardless of bleeding.

Starlight11111 · 04/01/2024 11:53

@MrsB2019x thank you, what you're saying makes SO much sense, but my brain can't process logic right now apparently 🥹

@SC126 thank you for making me feel less alone! Your line progression looks so good to me!!!!

@MudandMoet sooo true, wishing time would speed up!

Bearcub01 · 04/01/2024 12:02

I’ve had the tiniest bit of spotting today. I think it’s normal at this stage but still always a worry. I don’t want to call the doctor for nothing but will see if it continues.

Thank you. I'm so sorry you went through it.
It is on and off. Absolutely no bleeding so would you say that would likely be a sign too?

MrsB2019x · 04/01/2024 13:03

@TTCnewbies Bleeding was the first sign of mine. If it helps with my DD I had the type of pains you’re describing and everything turned out okay ☺️

MudandMoet · 04/01/2024 14:01

@WolfMother326 thanks for that, I didn't realise.

I have made an appointment with my MW for next Wednesday morning first thing.

Hope everyone's feeling okay x

TallulahTaboo · 04/01/2024 16:51

@Jeyla1230 totally normal but if you felt like they didn't feel normal then give your MW or GP a call.

I still cannot get through to the MW booking line. Tried again several times today and I was 14th in the queue with 34 minute wait. Probably get to 12 weeks still trying to get through 😂😂

Fawklight · 04/01/2024 19:23

Ended up at EPU with shoulder pain which was twindging and stabby in feeling as well as pain on one side. I phoned the midwife just to be sure it's what they'd want me to do first. Took all day to be seen but I was reassured by the doctor all is fine with a quick scan that everything is in the right place. No heart beat seen and but a very small amount of baby was.

I had bloods taken and I'm booked in for next Friday for a proper viability scan. I suspect I had an odd case of trapped wind tbh or strain from pickin up my son, but the midwife was like "Get to the hospital now"

MrsB2019x · 04/01/2024 19:44

Glad everything is okay @Fawklight , how worrying
