Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

Morning all!

Hope everyone is feeling okay and full of good symptoms!

@TTCnewbies I keep swaying between ringing for a MW appointment today (with the hope of getting in next week and a 6 + week scan too) or leaving it another week so there's more to see too. If I leave it and then there's a long wait or something I'll be kicking myself but knowing how we've been in past pregnancies we'll pay for extra scans anyway. So undecided what's best. If I have an early scan and there's not a lot detected it'll add to the anxiety I just know it.

I'll be consultant led with having a split uterus so should get extra scans too even after 12 weeks. It's a bloody minefield knowing what's best to do at this stage I always find.

Morning all, my first pregnancy haven't told the fella yet. He's away with family but will be back later on in the week. So nervous. So scared, my hips, back hurt. My boobs oh my 😂😩. The tiredness is something else but night time I struggle to stay asleep. This is all alot

TallulahTaboo · 03/01/2024 13:01

@RoSco197 sending you lots of love! 🤍 keep us posted.

TallulahTaboo · 03/01/2024 13:22

And hello to all the newbies! Hope your symptoms aren't too bad.

Is anyone in Scotland? And if so, booked a MW appointment? I know @Bearcub01 is but wondered if there was anyone else. I've tried to call today and been in a queue for ages... currently 23rd in line 🙈

MudandMoet · 03/01/2024 13:53

@Jeyla1230 how have you managed to keep that to yourself all this time? You've done great managing that, I think I'd have caved but I totally understand you wanting to tell him face to face. Have you been trying long? Will he be excited? My boobs ache like crazy too but I've got used to it now and enjoy it because I've no other symptoms at all 😬

It's been so hard like really hard. It wasn't planned at all, I don't know how it's going to go to be honest. My back was hurting but that's calmed down now.

eausolovely · 03/01/2024 14:22

Happy Wednesday everyone! Anyone else feeling ridiculously tired!! I am struggling with the fatigue and having to sit in the office and pretend all is well haha

Also just wondered if anyone was from the north east? I’m based just outside of Newcastle, if anyone else is local it would be great to link up and keep each other going!

MudandMoet · 03/01/2024 14:25

@Jeyla1230 oh crikey he's coming back to a big surprise then! Ahh I'm sure if you're in a stable relationship and can see a future together he'll be over the moon. Have you decided how you're going to tell him?

MudandMoet · 03/01/2024 14:27

@eausolovely I'm in Derbyshire else would have loved that ☕️🤰🏼

I'm hoping it will go ok, I'm absolutely bricking it if I'm honest. I literally have no idea, all I know is I'll give him a kiss and hug when I see him but that's it

TTCnewbies · 03/01/2024 15:34

Is anyone going to try no caffeine? Online says some is okay. I'm switching to decaf tea and I don't drink coffee but I am partial to a glass of coke (not every day) but wondering if I should curb this habit.

Wanderlust86 · 03/01/2024 15:46

@TallulahTaboo I'm in Scotland but haven't tried to book an appointment yet. The last time I was given an email to self refer myself and they got back to me within a few hours to arrange a booking in appointment. I'm north east.

I've thought about this too but decided I'm not going no caffeine. I only have a couple of milky teas a day generally so don't think that's too bad. Also it's curry night tonight and I love a curry and a few beers (you can't have curry without beers right?) which I now have to substitute so I'll have a nice big glass of coke instead 🤦🏼‍♀️ we can't give up all our little pleasures. Is there lots of evidence to suggest caffeine is really bad in pregnancy?

Wanderlust86 · 03/01/2024 15:49

@TTCnewbies I have cut down to 1 or 2 coffees a day as NHS site says that's ok. I used to drink a lot more as I do a lot of nightshifts. I make them a bit weaker than I normally do though and have bought decaf to try and trick myself and get through nightshift.

TallulahTaboo · 03/01/2024 15:50

@TTCnewbies I drank coffee and tea daily with my last pregnancy and all was ok. As long as you keep within the guidelines you'll be grand 😊

@Wanderlust86 oh fab. Will see if I can do that now. Tried again now and 24th in the queue 🙈

Wanderlust86 · 03/01/2024 15:56

@TallulahTaboo It's maybe different in your area but my GP gave me the self referral email when I had contacted them.

TTCnewbies · 03/01/2024 16:09

No nothing to worry about! Sorry! I was just checking that my level of caffeine is in line with others at my stage :) thanks all!

Lemonyfire · 03/01/2024 16:40

@TTCnewbies I love coffee, and had some with my previous pregnancies just cut down a bit. This time I’ve eliminated where possible so having decaf coffee/tea or if fancy a coke or Pepsi I have caffeine free. I don’t know why I’ve been so anxious about caffeine this time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fawklight · 03/01/2024 17:28

@TTCnewbies coffee made me feel sick last pregnancy. I'm already going off the smell so I'm expecting I'll be no caffeine soon 🤣

I already drink decaf tea (Yorkshire of course)

emmatcc1 · 03/01/2024 17:30

I don’t drink coffee or anything with caffeine so I’m good there. I tried getting an appointment today but they’re closed. I might go private.

Is there any other brand?? 😂👌🏼

aliceinwonderland93 · 03/01/2024 17:41

@eausolovely I live in NE3 🙋🏼‍♀️ I work in the city centre too if you ever fancy a cuppa or a whinge!

eausolovely · 03/01/2024 17:44

oh amazing! I work in the city and am NE4 so not far at all.

cuppycoffee · 03/01/2024 17:45

My nausea is currently being helped by… shortbread biscuits 😍

Starlight11111 · 03/01/2024 18:31

Hi all, and congratulations to you all!

I'm tentatively joining you after a BFP, but terrified due to previous miscarriage and chemical. Hoping this is our rainbow 🌈

I got my BFP 5 days ago when I felt super nauseous. Since then my tests have only darkened slightly and the nausea has gone but I am feeling exhausted and weeing lots more than usual.

Wishing us all healthy pregnancies! X
