Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

Hehehe… In Ireland (the republic) people contact creches when they’re planning to conceive… for real. I called all in my area when I was 6 weeks pregnant (Oct 2023) and 6 out of 7 said they were full for 2025 and one gave me the last place for July 2025 (for when the baby will be 1yo). They have Baby + our surname in their docs as the name 🤣

We also have baby+surname on the nursery documents, paid the deposit 2 months before my due date Grin

I only knew it was this frantic from friends with slightly older babies; I imagine there are people without those kinds of peers around that might miss the boat entirely by not realising they need to get on the list at conception!

33+2 here today.
Still getting used to all my medication.
Blood pressure and now insulin.
I'm feeling so tired. Definitely switched off in work which isn't ideal!
Just cba lol! 😂
I have appointments like 2/3 days a week now, it's even more tiring on top of work!
Think I'll be induced around end of month as consultant seemed to say if I went to insulin that's what would be likely to happen.
Baby is still growing thankfully, but still small.
We shall see!!

Faithincats · 05/05/2024 15:04

Is anyone else experiencing baby's movements as actually quite uncomfortable at times, now? I'm 34 weeks and often, when she moves, it feels like a big sweeping turn that makes me gasp out loud or literally takes my breath away! It's not painful as such, but it's not particularly pleasant either...😬

MrsTrue · 05/05/2024 17:21

@Faithincats same here! The kicks in the crotch and somersaults are something else 😮 33 weeks today and I've been finding things uncomfortable for a couple of weeks already... Not sure what it'll be like at 40 weeks!

I seem to have grown a LOT this week too, suddenly struggling to fit in my maternity jeans!

Goldie1234 · 05/05/2024 17:27

Urghh yeah those sweeping rolling movements gross me out. Not much space in there anymore !

May5th · 05/05/2024 17:29

I'm feeling the same, 34 weeks today and some kicks are very uncomfortable and bordering painful. Or some catch you by surprise and make you jump a bit. I’m not sure how he’ll have any space in a few weeks!

Faithincats · 06/05/2024 05:19

@MrsTrue @Goldie1234 @May5th glad to hear I'm not the only one 😅It feels like there's so little room in there now - how can the baby possibly almost double in size over the next few weeks?...

Iamconfusedmomtobe · 06/05/2024 06:35

Hi there!!!i had scan today babies legs were closed so sonographer see for moment and said 90% its girl but my intuition said its boy !i am so confused is it possible to be wrong prediction?

@Iamconfusedmomtobe Of course it's possible to be wrong, even if they get a good view and are almost certain it's still possible that they're wrong. You'll know 100% when the baby arrives!

Yeah because i have a feeling that its gonna be boy

QueSyrahSyrah · 06/05/2024 09:18

@Iamconfusedmomtobe Well on balance your feeling based on nothing really is more likely to be wrong than the sonographer's conclusion based on what s/he could see on the scan.

Suchardchoccy · 06/05/2024 09:44

@Faithincats yep 33+2 and I've been like that for a while - they do take your breath away!!

Yeahh lets see

Wheeeeee · 06/05/2024 20:09

I'm 33 weeks now and sometimes get taken by surprise how strong the movements can be! I had an episode of reduced movements at the weekend though and had to go in for monitoring, so I'm really happy every time I feel a good kick, even if it's a bit eye watering! Baby seemed very happy and active on the monitor so the midwife reckons he just got himself in a position where I couldn't feel him too well, which is a relief. It has set off some pretty fierce anxiety now though ☹️

Faithincats · 06/05/2024 22:45

@Wheeeeee the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago - the baby had turned inwards into an awkward position, so instead of feeling kicks on the surface of my belly, the kicks were being directed towards the back, which I couldn't feel at all. It was really unnerving, so I feel your pain 🙁Chances are your baby will switch position again in no time, though, and you'll be feeling everything again 😅

Thriving30 · 07/05/2024 07:52

I'm 32 wks and I'm finding that when I'm just sat down I find the movements really uncomfortable, quite high up and makes me feel like I'm slumping but I'm not!! Feel like she's running out of room now 😮
She does kick me, but it's mostly 'swishy' movements instead which feel really odd!! I love them though

MizzMarple · 07/05/2024 09:29

Anyone else still being sick? I’m still on ondanestron so normally only sick a couple of times a day but I’ve been sick about 10 times in the last 12 hours. I’m so tired and hungry and fed up. Can’t wait for this baby to be born!

Wheeeeee · 07/05/2024 11:29

Oh no @MizzMarple that's absolutely rotten ☹️ I finally stopped being sick around 20 weeks although still get some nausea at times. I really feel for you, it's the pits.

@Faithincats luckily he did turn again later that day so things feel more normal 🙂 I remember at this point in my last pregnancy I couldn't wait for the baby to be born so I could see for myself that he was ok...and then as soon as he was born I wanted him back inside where (I felt) he was safer 😅 pregnancy hormones do some mad things.

MsNeis · 08/05/2024 11:40

Hi everyone! I'm 36 weeks today, I can't believe we're almost there!! At my last scan my baby was breech and now I'm trying to turn her around 🙃in the hopes I don't end up with another c-section. Also considering a vaginal breech delivery (although I feel anxious about it) and/or doing an ECV.
Anyone here in the same boat or with similar experiences?

Faithincats · 08/05/2024 21:27

@MsNeis I'm in the same boat (35 weeks). My baby was transverse though, rather than breech. I followed the advice on Spinning Babies, and at my last midwife appt/scan the baby was head down www.spinningbabies.com/

May5th · 09/05/2024 07:22

I’m 34+4 today, had my growth scan and consultant appoitment this week. Baby was 81 percentile in weight this time, I had to do this extra one because percentile had dropped from 93 to 69 between 28 and 32 week scans. Now they were happy it’s back in line although not as big as previously thought. Although I’m still getting the occasional red reading with gestational diabetes on metformin they decided not to add insulin. Everything was fine, but I got high readings for blood pressure during the appointment - they tried four times and highest was 160/94 so now I’ve had to start a second blood pressure medication on top of labetelol (I have no history of blood pressure until this pregnancy). Also consultant said he’d now recommend induction at 38 weeks if not earlier depending on the next few weeks. I’m trying to avoid c section but 38 sounds early for it to work so feeling sceptical.

FantasticMissFox · 09/05/2024 09:46

Hi all, 35 weeks here. Nausea seems to have returned and my ankles are getting so swollen. On the home stretch now!

@MsNeis I don't have any experience in breech babies but have heard it's worth seeing if you can get an experienced midwife in breech vaginal birth as if you have a less confident one you're better with a section. Sending turning thoughts to you.

Babe was almost back to back at last midwife appointment so hoping it scooches over in the next few weeks.

MsNeis · 09/05/2024 09:49

@Faithincats Oh! Just yesterday I started reading their resources! Thank you, that's encouraging! I felt overwhelmed with all the things I should do daily 😂Maybe she's very comfortable sitting because that's how I've been the majority of the time for the past weeks 🙄😅
Congratulations on your heads down baby 💖
@FantasticMissFox I'm with you with the swollen ankles, it's getting uncomfortable putting on my trainers even! Regarding the breech delivery team, yes I've been in contact with a hospital that has a specialized team in vaginal breech deliveries, and went to talk to a midwife there, who informed me very well. I guess I lack confidence in my abilities 😬
Thanks for your positive thoughts 💖and good ones to you too 🙏

Goldie1234 · 09/05/2024 21:23

@May5th I've been induced early twice, at 37 weeks and 38 weeks, both were fine and quick !
There's lots of things that you can research to do to help your body prep. I used raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil capsules, ate dates, and very close to the induction I used an essential oils mix with clary sage oil. Just thoight this might be useful for anyone being induced early, but of course please do your own research if you're wanting to try anything. These were all natural remedies so I thought they couldn't hurt ! They did have recommendations for how much to take and when would be a good time to start.
I'm 34 weeks now, expecting to be induced about 37 ot 38 weeks and on my raspberry leaf tea as well as evening primrose when I remember! X

May5th · 09/05/2024 21:38

Thanks so much @Goldie1234, I’d heard about the raspberry leaf tea and dates but didn’t look into it yet - I will now. What about the sweep, did you have it with your previous? I asked the consultant and he just said it’s too so early so unlikely to work anyway and not to bother but I was wondering whether it was just his opinion.
