Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Good luck @MrsJ6921 💕

Salamander91 · 18/12/2023 08:20

Good luck with your induction @MrsJ6921 ❤️

Having a baby in winter seems the worst decision right now. All of my kids have coughs and one of them has woken up with conjunctivitis 😩 so paranoid about it passing to the baby.

Luhou · 18/12/2023 08:34

@MrsJ6921 good luck today!

@EL27 also not finished Christmas shopping here. After an unsuccessful trip round the shops yesterday, which was just agony! I decided I was just doing the rest online. Asked family for very specific ideas!

PartRadish · 18/12/2023 08:42

Good luck @MrsJ6921 How exciting!! ❤️

I've had the worst night sleep. Actually I had no sleep. Baby felt like she was about to fall out any second all day yesterday, then somehow as soon as I was in bed wedged her entire body under my ribcage. Seriously considering replacing the newborn sleepsuits with my 7 year olds clothes because clearly this baby is at least 3ft tall!

Were in court (via teams) all day today for 7 years school placement. It's all very, very messy and has been rumbling on for nearly 3 years now meaning he's never actually attended school because he's never had a place at one. We also now have no childcare so it's possible they may adjorn. And we're not gonna win anyway, the Local Authority have a huge expensive legal team and they suddenly produced evidence out of thin air last week that we'd been waiting two years for which left us with no time to prove it's all bullshit. Teeny, tiny bit stressed right now 😆

Just skim read to catch up so sorry if I've missed anything major 🙈

Yes we are all coughing and full of bugs @Salamander91 hopefully by the time you get home with baby worst will be over for the sickly kids and they won’t be contagious

Matildahoney · 18/12/2023 09:20

Good luck @MrsJ6921
Crazy that we're all on the home stretch now.
Another who has tried colostrum collecting with no joy in the bath yesterday. Will try again this evening
Bags and car seat need to go in the car, they're currently clogging up baby's room!
Growth scan today & hopefully induction date tomorrow!

suz2285 · 18/12/2023 09:21

@MrsJ6921 good luck!

@buckingmad hope all is ok!

I got myself massively wound up about bp again yesterday even though it's not high it's higher than it has been the whole pregnancy! Creeping close to being high and don't want any more triage visits before Xmas!

Hugs to everyone with bugs (only virtual though as I don't want them!) I felt sick yesterday morning and did have a small panic that I'd caught something but feel ok today, prob just overtired after not sleeping most of the weekend!!

Salamander91 · 18/12/2023 09:25

@PartRadish my bambino likes to do the same. I had a dream last night he was born 11lb 7oz 😂 I hope today goes well for you

@Mummyme87 I'm keeping everything crossed I don't catch it before my section. I've held off so far and I'm assuming the conjunctivitis is viral because of her cough so 🤞 my immune system is shocking usually because of my diabetes so it's a miracle I haven't caught anything yet.

1992H · 18/12/2023 10:29

Good luck @MrsJ6921! and you @PartRadish, it sounds a really stressful position to be in, I hope you eventually get the school place in the right setting your child deserves.

just leaving my growth scan. She’s looking around 6lb 11 at 36+1, usual awkward soul to scan like the last three scans, loads of hair too! Could see it all floating around. I’m not overly concerned at the size whatsoever, but went to box tick so I can still stick to having a homebirth without looking too unreasonable

Gremlin84 · 18/12/2023 10:53

Best of luck @MrsJ6921! Hope the induction goes smoothly and you're not waiting around too long for things to get going.

36+3 today and had 36 week appointment - got asked if my bag was packed yet...felt like a naughty school kid because it ISN'T but didn't want to tell her that 😆Went with "it's not packed but I have everything ready", which is technically true...everything is in the house somewhere! Did all the washing of newborn/0-1m clothes last night though that I've acquired from various friends so I feel a bit more prepared, just need to pick a few things out of that.

Anyone one here that isn't prepared at all for Christmas. Not bought a single thing. Think Amazon Prime will be my friend...

WitcheryDivine · 18/12/2023 11:27

Funny you say that @Gremlin84 I was just thinking that I'm more like a part time employee of Amazon Prime at the moment with the amount of money I'm making them.

Christmas shopping in my usual fashion of going to nice shops and looking just hasn't been an option for at least a month. Did find some nice things at a garden centre though which was far more chill!

Mummyme87 · 18/12/2023 11:55

I’ve bought last few bits for Christmas online in the last 24hrs, I can’t face going anywhere really… need to click and collect and smyths toy shop but I can drive there. Need a nice top for my eldest, he’s just at that picky age where he wants hoodies and nothing else.

at hairdressers and didn’t bring food 😖 gahh.

@Gremlin84 my bags aren’t packed and won’t be until after we are back from Christmas as the suitcases will be used to go away. I have most bits, need to order arnica, some essential oils, battery tea lights…but otherwise think I’m okay… she says

Luhou · 18/12/2023 11:59

@Gremlin84 I have everything together but not washed baby clothes yet.

Aiming to get it done for Christmas.

Are people washing their clothes if they're new? Like nighties that will be against baby? Or am I overthinking it?

Mummyme87 · 18/12/2023 13:45

@Luhou i don’t wash new baby clothes, only second hand stuff or hand me downs. I personally don’t see the issue, it’s seemingly very contentious online however!

sashastuck · 18/12/2023 13:52

@Luhou washed a new set of pjs but not bothering with the nightie.

@MrsJ6921 best of luck with your induction. hope it goes quickly and smoothly, can’t believe you might meet your baby today/tomorrow!!❤️

@PartRadish sorry that you’ve got that stress to deal with x

Lightningrain · 18/12/2023 14:17

I’ve been put on an extra labetalol tablet as the bottom number was borderline high today. I’ve got to go back again in 2 days for them to recheck and see what the impact of the extra tablet is. It’s so annoying when it’s perfectly fine at home. I just feel like I’m worked up as soon as they put the cuff around my arm now. The doctor also asked for me to be booked into the induction diary for 40 weeks so I’m really hoping baby arrives of their own accord before then.

Sending positive thoughts to everyone battling bugs in their household. Luckily no other children here to worry about but I’m now trying to avoid busy places as much as I can. It’s bad enough being ill over Christmas without factoring in being heavily pregnant.

RG9895 · 18/12/2023 14:30

@Hummusanddipdip thanks! I did try after a warm shower but perhaps I need to leave the shower on them for a bit longer lol will give it another go later today! Good idea about the little pot too as putting straight in the syringe looks difficult!

Hopefully our breastfeeding journeys will go well but if not at least we gave it a good shot is what I am telling myself ☺️

Have had a slight dig in the ribs but nothing too extreme yet 😬

@MrsJ6921 good luck!! How exciting baby will be here soon 🥹

@Lightningrain ah thanks this makes me feel better about it and good to know! Yes me too, fingers crossed for us both!

@Flossiepot amazing!! This has given me motivation to not give up just yet!!

@buckingmad hope everything is ok! Typical! Also feel it with the 37 week naps...had my first lunch time nap today although I am 37 weeks tomorrow

@Lilothblos so frustrating isnt it but at least we are giving it a good go! Hopefully you manage to get some soon

Matildahoney · 18/12/2023 14:44

@RG9895 just spoken to my friend who has had 4, she said warm flannels and lots of massaging always worked for her.

Growth scan done, 37+4 today, baby measuring at 8lb 3!!!

sashastuck · 18/12/2023 14:50

@RG9895 I’ve skimmed the messages but heat sounds like a good idea. A friend and I are due same day and started harvesting at the same time. Yesterday she managed to get lots more than me and that was right after a shower - other than that we’ve only been getting minimal drops.

Lots of us are expecting big babas it seems!
Speaking of which, I’ve just had my appointment through for being seen for possible GD (they need to run through how I can monitor my blood sugar at home etc). The appointment isn’t until the 27th when I’ll be 38+5! @Mummyme87 what is the point of this - do you think they’ll just offer to induce me anyway considering I’ll be so close to 40 weeks with a big baby? DH and l have decided to do everything we can to get him out now, rather have him ‘naturally’ and a bit smaller than wait all that time only to be told yep you need to be induced x

Mummyme87 · 18/12/2023 15:00

@sashastuck have you been given a plan for baby being estimated bigger? We usually offer IOL for AC over 95th centile at 39weeks, can’t remember what you said your scan said

RG9895 · 18/12/2023 15:12

@Matildahoney @sashastuck thank you both! Definitely gonna get some more heat and massaging done later and hope to get a little something 🤞🏻

They are predicting me to have an almost 9lber but havent been sent for growth scans recently, so interested to see if any of the scans you ladies have had are accurate when babies arrive!

I also feel weird thinking baby could come tonight or still another 5 weeks time! Would like her to make it into Jan even if its the 1st but equally had enough and just cant wait to meet her!

sashastuck · 18/12/2023 15:21

@Mummyme87 not been given a plan. Next midwife appt is this Friday at 38+1 but she said the next step was to meet someone from the diabetes team and go from there. But if I’m not seeing them until the 27th then I’m going to be so close to 39 weeks they may as well just offer me the induction whether I have GD or not right? Seems a bit strange they’d make me wait so long for an appt!

suz2285 · 18/12/2023 15:30

@Lightningrain what bp did they start you on labetaol with? Mine has been a bit higher at home but can control it by not panicking but I'm worried when I go in on wed to the midwife it'll be higher again

Last time I had to go to triage and it was fine there and I got sent home but it's too close to Xmas for that stress now for me! Did the midwife increase your dose or do you have to see a consultant to do that?
I'm also panicking that it's gonna go sky high as soon as they put the cuff on and I'm gonna ask the midwife to let me do some breathing first 😂🙈

@RG9895 im exactly the same I feel like it could be any time or like a month still 😂 it's very weird! Esp over Christmas

Mummyme87 · 18/12/2023 15:40

@sashastuck Christmas being in the way will be causing issues for appts/clinics. I’m sure you normally see someone in DAU to discuss after the scan.

WitcheryDivine · 18/12/2023 16:22

Been offered a sweep at 38+2 - not sure why and I'm in two minds about it, any thoughts?
