Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

@Luhou will be interesting to see if our hunches are right!

I can see myself logging off work for the final time at 5 on Thursday, all excited for my
pregnancy massage and week of relaxation with DD at nursery and my waters break the second I drop her off at nursery.

PartRadish · 11/12/2023 14:46

@Hummusanddipdip Sending love x

Just had my final preterm clinic appointment. I'm going in to labour ward next Tuesday morning at 36 weeks exactly to have my stitch removed. All feels a bit real now 😬

Congratulations @PartRadish for making it this far! So exciting, hope stitch removal is smooth

WitcheryDivine · 11/12/2023 15:16

Gosh there's so much happening. Congratulations @Kirova that's wonderful news! THinking of you both.

@Hummusanddipdip I'm glad you came home. Honestly I know work and the kids are important to you but your whole heart/brain/body must be all over the place right now and the most important thing to do is try to look after yourself, if only so you can be there for the baby and your mum. I'm so sorry this is happening xxx

Luhou · 11/12/2023 15:33

@PartRadish snap! I am the same, working until next week. As much as I am done with being pregnant, the longer I go after next week the more child free time I have, so will be just my luck to go early.

TunnocksTCake · 11/12/2023 16:23

@Luhou Im the same - completely done with being pregnant but also sooooo looking forward to some alone time to rest and nap before baby comes. Although I realised we have a whole 10 days over xmas with no nursery so need to make some plans to occupy DD!

Growth scan tomorrow afternoon for me so will have a bit of a better idea of whether he really is huge or not!

Mummyme87 · 11/12/2023 16:25

Picked up some more codeine from boots, had to lie and pretend it was for DH 😏 need it for night time at least!

also if another stranger talks to me about my bump size, how many are in there, or comment on how I must be literally about to give birth… I may not be held accountable for my actions. It’s ridiculous.

buckingmad · 11/12/2023 16:34

was going to ask about codeine! Can you just ask for it at the pharmacist or do I ask the GP? I've never taken it before but wanted something in the cupboard a bit stronger for labouring at home.

WitcheryDivine · 11/12/2023 16:35

I had my first actual bump-stroker the other day (not counting the odd pat from friends etc which I don't mind a bit) - a lady I barely know! So glad most people don't do that any more.

I'm so bored with talking about due date with nice well-meaning people as well, I find it such an unhelpful concept - I wish people would just accept "some time late December or early January" which tbh is a lot more accurate.

1992H · 11/12/2023 16:36

DS2 has treated me to the sickness bug he made me a dozen loads of washing with on friday night/Saturday am. My stomach was already agony. I can’t vomit this violently without peeing myself at the same time.
I'm miserable and feel dire

TunnocksTCake · 11/12/2023 16:47

Also- 36 week scan letter says I need a full bladder - that's a joke right?
@1992H oh poor you! Dd had a very short lived sick bug Friday night so hope yours is similarly quick! X

Hummusanddipdip · 11/12/2023 17:00

Thanks, I had a nap and feel a bit better, I think I'll stay home tomorrow and go back Wednesday, I just need to rest and get my head straight, and I need to keep talking to our leadership team and telling them how I feel and what is going on (im a classic bottler). I will, I will tell them how I am feeling, how the children are making me feel, I just hate it, I hate being grumpy with them, they're children, they're excited for Christmas, of course they won't be perfectly behaved. @WitcheryDivine you're right my head/body/heart are all over the place, I'm in survival mode and have been for a while and I think it's finally taken its toll.

Luckily no-one has touched bump without asking first, I must have a dont touch face 🤷‍♀️ but, gosh the comments!! I try to ignore them. Last week I had "gosh you're tiny for 35 weeks" "wow you're huge, I only had a tiny bump at this point" "oh, you're one of those pregnants are you? The ones who you can't tell from behind" and "are you sure it's a boy, you're rather low and round, boys carry higher" I think the amount of presenting this baby has done one his scans make it very clear he is a boy 🤣

Can I take anything extra for achy joints , or is it just normal pain relief?

FirstT1meMum · 11/12/2023 17:50

I'm so glad I only have 9 work days left (not including the weekend) and I am determined to make it to next Friday as I feel I've done the hard slog from September I should be allowed to relax and enjoy Christmas with the children next week 🤣 However I was definitely feeling the pregnancy aches as I left school today! Got a couple of appointments this week so hoping that will help the week go quicker 🤞

@Hummusanddipdip definitely think the few days will help, it's such an emotional time during pregnancy and I'm finding my patience with the children is a lot more frayed than usual but that's without everything you've got on...take time for you ❤️

Mummyme87 · 11/12/2023 18:29

@buckingmad you can get codeine and paracetamol over the counter but they won’t sell it to you if you says it’s for you. It’s fine to take though just not multiple doses a day for weeks and months on end

Luhou · 11/12/2023 19:11

@TunnocksTCake also got a scan tomorrow. Bladder capacity also a thimble full nowadays

Mummyme87 · 11/12/2023 20:47

You should not need a full bladder for any scans u less very early and abdominal. Definitely not for later scans, makes it harder to see!!

sashastuck · 11/12/2023 20:49

@Hummusanddipdip glad you’ve decided on a day at home tomorrow. Feel everything you need to feel and do NOT feel guilty about the kids. You and your baby are more important at this time. The kids will be fine and work will go on! Xx

@buckingmad I’m intrigued to see if your hunch is correct! For a while I felt like baby would come early, but now I’m not convinced. He seems comfy in there and I’ve had no indications like cramps or anything, 37 weeks on Thurs.

@Mummyme87 would you recommend codeine for early labour then?

Mummyme87 · 11/12/2023 20:55

@sashastuck yeah, would start with basic paracetamol then upgrade to codeine and paracetamol. The over the counter is only 8mg of codeine per tablet so will get 16mg. Hospital can give you up to 60mg. But when it’s early stages worth a try

buckingmad · 11/12/2023 21:16

I had a growth scan today and went for a wee straight before!

am3017 · 12/12/2023 00:41

Just a little update after my waters breaking on Thursday 34+4…was admitted to antenatal ward yesterday as my infection markers were up and I had reduced movement and delivered baby boy at 35+1 after being induced. He’s in neonatal getting some help with his breathing as he’s breathing a bit fast and he’s also got risen infection markers so they are going to try get to the bottom of that💙

1992H · 12/12/2023 00:49

@am3017 glad he’s out, hopefully it’s a brief stay and he recovers quickly ❤️ congratulations

Hummusanddipdip · 12/12/2023 02:13

Congratulations @am3017 hopefully it's a short stay for you both and his breathing settles and the infection markers clear up.

lucya66 · 12/12/2023 06:30

Congrats @am3017

Mummyme87 · 12/12/2023 06:55

@am3017 congratulations. He will be grand, hopefully a short stay for him

FirstT1meMum · 12/12/2023 07:22

@am3017 congratulations! He's in the right place and hopefully will be with you soon! 🩵
