Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

@Oatmilktea with my son I didn't feel sick until 6 weeks but I'm only 5weeks now and have felt very sick of an afternoon since before 4 weeks. It's what made me test!!!! So it defo is morning sickness. I'm hoping it will ease off sooner with getting it early!!!

Oatmilktea · 20/11/2023 12:53

Can I ask when people started to feel sick? I feel very nauseous after eating and drinking hot drinks but I’m only 4+4 so I’m wondering if it’s too soon for it to be classed as morning sickness?

I’m 5+1 and it started before the weekend for me, so probably exactly where you are now. Just nausea for now, no vomiting, but it’s exhausting. And I’m right off tea now ☹️

ExpectantEs · 20/11/2023 16:38

Happy Monday everyone!
Has anyone given up caffeine?

I tried to stop for about 2 weeks but I gave in and had a cup of tea yesterday and today and love it so much haha
Hoping the small amount won't affect baby! Still 0 symptoms for me at 7 weeks! Got a private scan on Friday to make sure all is well.

Hope you're all doing well x

Well done you! I’ve switched my caffeinated to decaf - I can’t live without my morning coffee! Good luck with your scan on Friday! Mine is the week following, will be 7w+6 😊

missmoosh · 20/11/2023 17:27

@ExpectantEs i have moved to decaf, but I did so before I got a bfp. Gradually reduced it down and don't notice the difference now. It's the smell of coffee I need in my life haha

ELJ1502 · 20/11/2023 17:30

I’m 6+1 today and the nausea has fully hit. Nothing has lifted it today. Prior to that I would just get random bouts.

is it strange I’m really pleased and it feels a little more real? 😂

wannabe123 · 20/11/2023 17:51

@ELJ1502 I definitely get what you mean about it making it feel more real. Although, I've had nausea permanently since Thursday and I'm definitely starting to get fed up of it. I've also got a sensitive nose so teaching after baked beans on the menu at lunch is extra tough!

ELJ1502 · 20/11/2023 18:06

@wannabe123 We had an extended revision session tonight and gave the kids crisps. The smell of Roast Chicken Crisps 🤢🤢 I had to walk to the opposite side of my classroom. 😂

Blackberry95 · 20/11/2023 18:08

Bye all I’m leaving the thread. My pregnancy turned out to be ectopic and ruptured at 6 weeks
good luck for all the July babies

Savvy21 · 20/11/2023 18:30

@Blackberry95 so sorry to hear this.

bringmearainbow · 20/11/2023 18:36

@ExpectantEs you can have 200mg of caffeine a day and coffee has about 140mg so you're good for a cuppa and half of the good stuff 😂not sure how much tea has in a very small amount I would think. Good luck with the scan!

{mention:wannabe123}@ELJ1502 my nausea has been non stop someone made some disgusting smelling soup today and it took all my willpower to just get through it 😂

@Blackberry95 oh lovely I'm so so sorry to read your update sending lots of love ❤️ have they had to operate?

@Blackberry95 so sorry to hear that ❤️

chilliflakesmum · 20/11/2023 18:44

@bringmearainbow I think we are the same due date as I was 7 weeks yesterday too!

Had an early scan at the EPU last week and we saw a heartbeat and a little bean - all was where it should have been. I was very nervous as I had a MMC back in March at 12 weeks. They've offered me another scan next week where I'll hopefully be 8+4 so fingers crossed!!

I also have a two year old and I am knackered. He's had a stomach bug over the weekend, god it's hard isn't it! But, this is a phase ☺️

bringmearainbow · 20/11/2023 18:49

@chilliflakesmum yay due date twin 😍 ahhh I'm so glad you saw a HB I've got a repeat scan too but not until 1st which feels forever away 😂 lol I also have a 2 year old who is absolutely full of it he's like mummy come do this and I'm just dying on the sofa 😅🙈 being pregnant in lockdown was so much easier 😂

chilliflakesmum · 20/11/2023 18:53

@bringmearainbow omg yes it was so much easier being pregnant in lockdown 😂 It defo had its advantages didn't it 😂 What month was yours born in? Mine was August 2021!

I'm also in my beige era since a few days now too. Pot noodle for lunch. Frozen chips and fish fingers last night 😂 the nausea is real!

chilliflakesmum · 20/11/2023 18:53

@Blackberry95 sending you all the love ❤️

Sunray33 · 20/11/2023 18:55

Thinking of you @Blackberry95

bringmearainbow · 20/11/2023 19:08

@chilliflakesmum mine was Feb 21. Someone said to me in one of my earlier pregnancies are you looking forward to having a normal pregnancy experience I was like I don't know any different so don't really feel like I missed out on anything 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm def missing all the daytime napping though 😂 ahh I'm gluten free so it's really tough sometimes when I need a quick snack because everything has bloody gluten in it 🙄 can't beat a good bowl of chips too 🙊 I'm really craving hash browns and fried eggs hubby looks at me like I'm mad 😂 def can't be having that in the office though they will be on to me 🙊

ELJ1502 · 20/11/2023 19:51

@bringmearainbow I think I’m quite sensitive to smells anyway but pregnancy seems to ramp it up. I remember in my last pregnancy I would teach year 11 boys just after they had PE and I would really struggle to not run to the toilet whilst teaching them. 😂🙈

I feel like this pregnancy I might be even more sensitive already.

sulikm · 20/11/2023 20:06

So I'm 6w1d today, my main two symptoms are exhaustion (I could cry at how much my body feels tired, it's really shocking) and an extremely dry mouth/throat and general thirst that nothing seems to quench. I've always been a big water drinker but seems like it's not even enough! I've picked up exercising again this week which has been nice and help take mind off things. I think I'll for for my first scan on Sunday where I'll be 7w iA cos I just want to know if things are where they should be.

bringmearainbow · 20/11/2023 20:12

@ELJ1502 oh that's just an ewww smell at the best of times 😂

@sulikm I've been suffering with dry mouth too that water just doesn't fix. Someone said to me ice cubes help but my teeth are too sensitive to suck on them 🙈 another suggestion I got today was weak squash but I haven't tried it yet as we don't keep squash in the house

ExpectantEs · 20/11/2023 20:51

@Blackberry95 I'm so sorry for your loss, thinking of you xx

ExpectantEs · 20/11/2023 20:54

@bringmearainbow @Cattattack @missmoosh
Thanks all, in regards to the tea, I brew for like 2 seconds and take the tea bag out. But I think I'll switch to decaf so I can have more than one cup a day. Think my enjoyment is more of the 'temperature/hot drink' side of things!

Will update you all about how the scan goes, wish I could make Friday come sooner!!!

Re caffeine - eeek! When I was pregnant 10 years ago I’m sure the advice was 3 cups of coffee a day max, which I routinely did! Just realised it’s changed. I’ve been having a few coffees/cokes a day - will need to sort myself out!

Also, had a huge fright today when I fell down some stone steps at work. Really hurt my legs but thankfully didn’t land on tummy. Keeping an extra eye for spotting and just really going to be careful not to be clumsy!!
