Hi all, just continuing the previous thread.

@Holdmysunhat I got the seasickness bands you suggested, I think they're great!!

Thanks @Yourowgirl I feel a bit better after speaking to my friend who's a midwife and a midwife group online who both said the same it is tiny amounts and topical and over the counter so would only be a small percentage anyway and then it getting into the bloodstream in levels that would cause harm would be slim so that's made me feel better but I'm not using it now its made me anxious!!

PeppedUp · 05/01/2024 17:36

@Holdmysunhat I checked online and asked a midwife and apparently it’s totally normal at this stage as they’re still changing position a lot. Even at the third trimester apparently 30% of babies are breech and that shrinks to just 3% by delivery time.

I’m still going to look into yoga poses etc to set yourself up for the best chance of a head down baby!

@Laura96 I’m not a healthcare professional so my thoughts are probably a bit useless, but with an over-the-counter topical cream I’m sure the risks are so slim and would be cumulative so a small amount wouldn’t matter. I have freaked out about other things though (eating raw salmon) so totally relate to you worrying.

Yourowgirl · 05/01/2024 18:00

Yes @PeppedUp I also freaked out a bit on New Years Day when I had a medium steak (I thought it was OK if it wasn't raw-medium-rare) but checked NHS after eating it and started to worry. Cue me trawling the internet checking different sources! I'm reading Expecting Better now hoping it will give me some perspective when stuff like that happens from time to time 🙈

PeppedUp · 05/01/2024 19:02

@Yourowgirl I’ve had a few medium steaks too - wish I could check if I’ve got toxoplasmosis immunity so I could eat them guilt free!

Yourowgirl · 05/01/2024 19:13

@PeppedUp exactly! I considered asking for the blood test but decided it isn't worth it - risk is low and it might give me more cause to worry.

nh93 · 07/01/2024 21:25

Anyone else get dizzy and lightheaded even when sat down randomly?
Its lasted me ages today

SarahBowie · 07/01/2024 21:56

@nh93 yes I’ve been getting really lightheaded and dizzy randomly for a couple of weeks

nh93 · 07/01/2024 22:12

SarahBowie · 07/01/2024 21:56

@nh93 yes I’ve been getting really lightheaded and dizzy randomly for a couple of weeks

What do you think it could be? Dr Google said blood pressure and hormones, today was quite bad for me which has worried me a little.

newbie12345678 · 07/01/2024 23:29

@nh93 - happened to me today too. I was just sitting up in bed. I had something to eat and it got better. I tend to have lower blood pressure anyway so I'm not sure if it's that or low blood sugar or just hormones. Most websites say it's a common symptom.

SarahBowie · 08/01/2024 07:49

@nh93 I think it’s just part of pregnancy from what I could see. I know plenty of people who have it during their pregnancies. Just need to be careful.

Emmacb82 · 08/01/2024 09:10

I’ve had it before in previous pregnancies and I had it the other day in this one when I was just sitting down. I think it’s probably low blood pressure but I also used to suffer with low iron in the later stages and fainted once. Just stay still until it passes and make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids as that will help

Toda11 · 08/01/2024 09:27

Had it myself and mentioned to my midwife, sounds like a very common symptom as you are pumping so much blood to the baby that it can leave you a bit light headed if you stand up too quickly.

If I am lying down I sit up in bed/sofa before getting fully up.

newbie12345678 · 08/01/2024 10:22

TMI, but anyone else suffering with constipation? 🫢 I finally caved yesterday and bought some lactulose but apparently it can take 48 hours to work. I had been ok until recently but I've been less active the last few weeks and things have really ground to a halt!

nh93 · 08/01/2024 11:04

thanks everyone feeling better today 🙌🏽

Sa11yCinnamon · 08/01/2024 11:12

@newbie12345678 yes I have, it comes and goes but I've been really uncomfortable at some points. Eating plenty of fibre and walking definitely help, I saw something recently about chewing gum helping as your body thinks you're eating so 'gets ready' to go, but I've not tried that yet!

SarahBowie · 08/01/2024 11:17

I’m feeling really under the weather and have a bit of a temperature. I’ve got antibiotics to take :(

No other point of this post other than to feel sorry for myself haha

TheBirdintheCave · 08/01/2024 12:30

@SarahBowie Aww I hope you feel better soon! :)

PeppedUp · 08/01/2024 12:40

I get dizzy spells as well, which my midwife said was due to low blood pressure. I get it when standing in the kitchen or waiting for public transport. I’ve been told to eat some dates when it hits but I haven’t tried it yet.

@newbie12345678 I haven’t had it yet but have been trying to eat kiwis and prunes to avoid it. I was given lactulose after I last gave birth and would rather avoid it if possible.

newbie12345678 · 08/01/2024 14:36

Thanks all 😊 Does anyone else still occasionally get a soreness/very mild cramping sensation very low down in the lower stomach? It always makes me worry. Midwife has just said it's growing/stretching.

Laura96 · 08/01/2024 17:14

Hi all
I am due to go abroad in a week or so and looking at suncream
Has anyone heard of pregnancy safe suncream or is all suncream ok in pregnancy I feel like its a minefield!!

PeppedUp · 08/01/2024 19:35

@newbie12345678 I occasionally get a sensation that I’ve pulled something right down by my hip bone, but it doesn’t last long.

@Laura96 I don’t know sorry. I think I just used stuff in the cupboard last time I was pregnant. Very jealous of you getting some sun - I am finding the weather/darkness really tough!

In other news, I had an obstetrician appointment today, which turned out to be due to an entry error in my booking in appointment! But it meant I got another scan, which was so much more chilled than the anomaly scan and more focused on just looking at baby rather than all the measurements. Also reiterated that it is “100%” a boy.

junebuglb · 09/01/2024 11:11

Hey all hope you’re doing well! I’ve noticed some new developments and thought I’d share in case anyone can relate-

I’ve noticed a couple of new pains (joy!!) - every morning when i wake up on my side, when I move to get up it almost feels like there’s trapped gas on my other side. It’s actually quite sharp/painful! The pain just gradually resolves (without passing gas) so not sure what that’s about. But definitely new!

I also think my cheeky baby might have flipped to be head up/feet down as I’m now feeling kicks daily but much much lower down than a few weeks ago! Anyone else relate or where are you feeling movements at the min? 😊

Also I have had a couple of wobbly moments already this year where I think it’s dawned on me that sh*ts about to get real! Ha!!

Hope everyone is doing ok? 21+3 now and definitely looking pregnant!

Sa11yCinnamon · 09/01/2024 12:32

@junebuglb I've had a few moments of feeling really overwhelmed, especially now we are starting to buy stuff! I've still not felt much movement but am definitely starting to look pregnant and not just bloated.

@newbie12345678 I have quite regular mild cramps, I think it's just everything stretching and moving around.

Also been getting some pelvic pain and a wee bit of lower back pain which concerns me a bit as I'm picturing it only getting worse...

SarahBowie · 09/01/2024 12:35

@junebuglb I’ve noticed the sharp pains too and I was wondering if it might actually be baby kicking. I’m really not sure though. Still getting little flutters every so often but no hard kicks yet.

I’m quite tall and baby is distinctly average size so I’m thinking she still has lots of room to move around and that could be why I’m not getting strong movements yet. Had a big roll of her turning around the other evening though so she’s in there somewhere 😂

Yourowgirl · 09/01/2024 19:15

I still get little cramps/pulls in various places in my abdomen, and a little bit of lower back discomfort so need to watch that!
My kicks are quite regular, I feel a few of them several times a day, all very low down.
@Laura96 I'm going away soon too, can't wait. No tips about suncream but I've got my compression socks for the plane and going to look for some non-DEET insect repellent which I heard is the kind I should get.
We've got our first few baby items this week - really makes it hit home! I haven't been to the office in a while so I think the bump will be quite noticeable when I go back.
Hope you feel better soon @SarahBowie being ill is miserable, especially when we already have symptoms to contend with.
