I’ve also been for my 20 week scan today and baby decided to be super naughty! It would not stay still and was also spine down so couldn’t get visibility on a lot of the things that needed to be checked! Everything that could be though is fine. We are keeping sex a surprise as well.

I have to go back in 10 days for another anatomy scan to check the rest, so at least that’s a bonus getting to see them again!

LondonGirl1992 · 27/12/2023 20:43

Anyone else have their 20 week scan on the 3rd?! I feel weirdly nervous! I wish it was a little sooner!

Geekygirl13 · 27/12/2023 22:17

Ha ha mine was the same it turned it's back to us, we could see the spine just not the face. Twin 2 was a poser though lol

Rose5555 · 27/12/2023 22:25

Hi everyone! Sorry to hear some of you are still struggling with sickness. I still have quite a few evenings where I feel nauseous, although I’ve never actually been sick so I know I’m getting off relatively lightly. I’m with you all on the tiredness!! I’m sure with my other two I got a boost of second trimester energy, but this time it’s nowhere to be seen…. I could nap every day and go to bed at 8.30 every night if allowed!!!
Happy to hear of lots of healthy (albeit wriggly) 20w scans. Mines not until Friday 5th. We’re still deciding whether to find out the sex, although I’m almost certain it’s a boy as I have been obsessively studying the nub theory after a friend introduced me to it…now wish I hadn’t as I feel like it has spoiled the surprise!

Me! I'm feeling nervous too, I had scans at 7, 8.5, 10 and 13 weeks so this has felt like the longest wait and I've still not felt any definite movement so I just really want to know if everything is ok.

ThePoddingtonPeas · 28/12/2023 10:31

We had a scan yesterday at 18 weeks (we'll be scanned every two weeks to check for any ttts or other identical twin related complications).
They did the anatomy scan and everything is absolutely as it should be.
We also found out that we are team girl! 💕

It's so exciting everyone getting their scans.

It's still a bit nerve wracking when you can feel definite movement and are double guessing bubble feelings for normal bodily movement but it'll be no time before we're all getting kicked no end and thinking about why we may have worried through this reprieve!

Exactly this! I’ve been feeling something this week since last Sunday but not to the extent that I can be 100% certain it’s baby. It’s such a long wait and then it’s the worrying about the scan itself that follows. I feel like after this scan, people say they start to really enjoy the pregnancy so I’m hoping that’s me!

SarahBowie · 28/12/2023 14:48

We’ve order our pram, cot bed and crib for in our room today. It’s feeling quite real now!

Looking forward to seeing our little girl again tomorrow morning so hope they everything goes well at the scan.

Yourowgirl · 28/12/2023 15:34

Yes our scan is on 3rd too! Hope you can all find stuff to distract yourselves with until then!

junebuglb · 28/12/2023 22:32

Exciting! We have our scan tomorrow morning, hopefully all goes well.
@SarahBowie out of interest what have you gone for re pram & bedside crib? We’re eyeing up options at the mo

SarahBowie · 28/12/2023 23:25

@junebuglb we went with the noordi fjordi 2 in 1 pram. We could have got a 3 in 1 that came with a car seat but we were really set on a lie flat car seat as we may have some longer journeys at some point so went with a cybex one that also rotates. The adapters to fit the seat to the pram were only £35 so we can still use everything like a full travel system. I really liked that the pram was leather for keeping clean and we got a lovely cosy noordi foot muff for when she’s sitting up in the stroller part next winter. I also liked that the bassinet had a section that you can raise up if baby has colic or reflux.

The next to me crib is by babymore. It rocks when the baby stirs to help them get back to sleep and comes with a reflux wedge. I’m really bothered with reflux still as an adult so I’m assuming there’s a good chance she’ll have reflux. I really didn’t like the snuzpod when I saw it but was quite taken with the cozee.

Our cot bed is by babystyle and converts to a toddler bed as she grows.

Good luck with your scan!!

junebuglb · 29/12/2023 10:33

Scan all looked good today and baby girl is still a baby girl 😊 Good luck to everyone having their scans soon x

@SarahBowie oooh nice! Thanks for that, have to say I’m loving the look of the babymore air bedside crib. We spent Xmas with my newborn nephew and I can see the appeal of the rocking capabilities but still a compact size as opposed to the chunkier next2mes etc.

Not sure what we’ll do for a pram system yet but the scan has made me excited to get looking! Hope everyone is doing ok. Feel like I’m still recovering from Xmas a little! x

SarahBowie · 29/12/2023 11:48

@junebuglb yep that’s the one we’ve gone for, couldn’t remember it’s name!

Fairly good scan for me this morning. Got everything checked that we needed to except head and nose so I’m back again next week. Little one had her head firmly down and facing away from us 😂 we’ve been told she’s going to be a long baby which we were both expecting given that we were too. Will be nice to see her again next week and good to know that all the internal organs and limbs are fine. My anterior placenta is a little bit lower than what the sonographer would like but she said it’s likely to move up when the baby moves so nothing to worry about at the moment. If it goes any lower we’d be looking at c section which is fine if I can plan.

Emmacb82 · 29/12/2023 18:23

We had our scan this morning and baby looks lovely and healthy and we are team pink 💕 such a big surprise as was expecting her to be a boy as I’ve got 2 already. Was the icing on the cake 😍

Ah how exciting, massive congratulations!!

anyone else opted not to find out what they’re having? This is our first and we are dead set on a surprise!

Dexnt15 · 29/12/2023 19:56

This is also our first and we have decided we want a surprise as well 😀

NewMummabear2024 · 30/12/2023 09:16

Hello

I've just joined as a new member. My baby girl is due 16th May 2024

Yourowgirl · 30/12/2023 09:30

@LondonGirl1992 we aren't finding out the sex either, it's our first too, and our scan is also on 3rd.
We have both felt distinct little kicks in the last couple of days which is so amazing, especially as I wasn't counting on it this early. Will start playing Match of the Day theme tune to the bump to try and inspire more😆
Congratulations and welcome @NewMummabear2024 how are you doing at the moment?

newbie12345678 · 30/12/2023 18:33

Is anyone else still so tired? I'm 20+4 and it's still a huge struggle to do anything at all most days. I've had all my bloods checked and there doesn't seem to be anything particular driving it, although I am very anxious which I imagine isn't helping. It's my first pregnancy and I really wasn't expecting to feel this shattered at this point! Hope everyone is doing well Flowers

Rose5555 · 30/12/2023 21:38

@newbie12345678 I’m pretty exhausted still too. With my other two children I got a big boost of energy in the second trimester, but it doesn’t seem to be coming this time…
im also seriously emotional this week. We’re all staying at my in-laws for new year and had a complete meltdown this morning in front of the whole family and took myself off in tears!! I just feel so stressed and exhausted and wobbly!! I think the hormones must really be getting to me 😬 anyone else?!

LondonGirl1992 · 31/12/2023 11:08

I have actually been feeling much less tired the last few weeks BUT I have had a return of the awful sickness! I’ve been none stop sick for 3 days now and just feeling constant nausea. Has anyone else’s sickness made a comeback? Hoping it passes soon as it’s making me feel pretty rubbish!

newbie12345678 · 31/12/2023 11:56

@LondonGirl1992 my sickness has just come back too! I was never physically sick but my nauseous back. I was actually just googling it to see if that is normal! Seems it happens to a lot of people around this time. I'm definitely feeling extra emotional, so I wonder if it has to do with hormone levels. I'm 20+5, how about you?

SarahBowie · 31/12/2023 12:00

@LondonGirl1992 my sickness came back around 17/18 weeks but I’m sick free for a week now at exactly 20 weeks so fingers crossed it passes for you! My mum had her sickness come back around this time with me so I wasn’t surprised when it happened.

My sickness was always triggered when brushing my teeth when it came back. My friend at work mentioned that she swapped to a child’s toothbrush during her pregnancy for that reason. Omg what a difference! If anyone’s struggling with teeth brushing, try a kids toothbrush.

Yourowgirl · 31/12/2023 13:16

My sickness hasn't gone away for longer than a couple of days, but it came back badly again earlier in the week, I'm 18.5 weeks. This has been the worst part of pregnancy for me so feeling for everyone else that's still suffering x

Holdmysunhat · 31/12/2023 13:53

@newbie12345678 that’s an interesting theory and fits for me too. mine has returned at 21 weeks
