Hi all, just continuing the previous thread.

@Holdmysunhat I got the seasickness bands you suggested, I think they're great!!

@Nina7 This scan was so much more exciting than the 12 week one because I’d felt her moving around in the morning so knew she was ok and we didn’t need to worry about the tests this time. She just couldn’t have been in a better position today so obviously wanted to show us all that she was a girl as we’d all been convinced she was a boy 🙈 I’ve got an anterior placenta which was good to find out and explains why I’ve only felt movement at the sides.

We had a long list of boy names but I suggested a girl name today and that’s it decided so we know what she’ll be called but we’re keeping that a surprise until she arrives.

Such an exciting time for everyone coming in to Xmas knowing who their babies are and that they’re all safely tucked in there 🥰

Hi all, haven't been on the thread for a couple of weeks but it's so lovely to see how everyone is doing, feeling those wiggles, etc :)

I posted about our high NT measurement of 3.4mm, and my NT screening came back with relatively high odds of 1 in 196 for DS. Unfortunately we weren't offered NIPT on the NHS as not high risk (0.6% chance vs 0.5%...) so we had private NIPT testing instead.

I heard that the odds of abnormalities were 1 in 10,000 which feels like the best early Christmas present ever 😊 We also found out that baby #3 is a boy! We have two lovely boys already and were hoping for a girl as we are definitely stopping at 3, but this whole experience has put it all into perspective and we are just so grateful for a seemingly healthy baby ❤️

Just wanted to update in case anyone comes across this thread later, or for anyone wondering!

I feel like I can now re-join the thread and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy and bond with my baby 😍

And revisit the very short list of boy names...we've had a girls name for a decade that we'll never use! And we've already used the only two boy names we liked eek 🙃

Holdmysunhat · 17/12/2023 17:12

Fab news about everyone little girls and boys too! How lovely!

@Edgeofthesea I’m so happy for you! Must have been such a relief to have NIPT confirmation! I’ve got a pregnant friend who is very upset about having a second girl but yes, honestly this kind of health scare puts it all into perspective. You’re so right. As a teacher who had met loads of children, I’d say it doesn’t matter which flavour you have unless you heavily buy into gender stereotypes (I don’t!) They’re all unique, amazing little people at the end of the day and babies are just pure magic!

junebuglb · 17/12/2023 17:15

Aww that’s lovely news @SarahBowie and everyone else that has found out so far 💘💙

It was truly the highlight of my pregnancy seeing the baby again today. Can’t believe how much she had grown, I went for a little jog around the car park and had some icy water before we went in and she was VERY active indeed! Gave us a little wave in there. x

@Edgeofthesea that must be really reassuring and just in time for Xmas. Lovely news x

Congrats to everyone finding out :) We're keeping it a surprise until the baby is born so I hopefully won't be upset if we have a second boy 😅

Holdmysunhat · 17/12/2023 18:26

@junebuglb

That scan is so cute and looks like a squishy one! How lovely!

I don’t suppose anyone knows what CM means on the scan? I can figure out that FL = femur length and HC = head circumference etc but couldn’t work out what CM. Google thinks it’s crown to rump but that doesn’t make sense since my baby’s CM is under 4 mm! Mine was in range for CM so it’s not a big deal but it’s got me curious!

Abracadabra12 · 18/12/2023 14:27

Hi! I'm late to joining this thread but I'm pregnant with my first and due on 31 May

Yourowgirl · 18/12/2023 20:07

Congratulations @Abracadabra12 and hope everyone else is feeling good vibes with Christmas and more scans happening! My indigestion has come back with a vengeance, really hard to tell if it's nausea or not. Not spending all my time in bed or on the sofa anymore at least.

PeppedUp · 19/12/2023 07:50

Congratulations @Abracadabra12 and welcome!! So nice to hear about everyone’s happy and healthy scans and exciting to hear some gender reveals too.

It’s so true how much of a journey we’ve been on since the stressful first weeks. I’m starting to feel convincing movement now so feeling more relaxed.

I’m also in the camp of wanting one of each so have been hoping for a girl. We decided on a name for a boy a couple of days ago just in case the scan goes the other way. It’s been making me be able to better imagine having two sons and feeling more excited about it to the point where I now think I’ll be a bit surprised if it’s a girl!

PeppedUp · 19/12/2023 07:53

@Holdmysunhat I have no idea what that is. Could it be something to do with the umbilical cord? I’m just trying to imagine what would measure 4mm?!

Holdmysunhat · 19/12/2023 13:52

Thanks @PeppedUp. That sounds likely

nh93 · 19/12/2023 14:10

Hi everyone!
I just got back from my gender scan & please to announce we are having a baby girl! 💕
we have one of each already!
How nice is it finally refer to bump as "her" and start looking at names and clothes 🥰

hope everyone's doing ok :)

also - i found this odd but at my 8 and 12 week scan i was told have an anterior placenta but the lady told me today it's posterior
which i was surprised, i asked her to double check she said sometimes they're wrong at the early scans
what do you think? has this happened to anyone before?
i also don't feel much movements which i've put down to the anterior placenta (i'm 16+3)
Quite confusing

i haven't felt many movements yet*

TheBirdintheCave · 19/12/2023 14:36

@nh93 Congratulations :)

Holdmysunhat · 19/12/2023 16:38

Aww that’s lovely news @nh93!

Apparently placentas can move and commonly do towards the end of pregnancy. I only found this out a few days ago!

LondonGirl1992 · 21/12/2023 14:25

How’s everyone doing?! Not long until everyone’s 20 week scans! How’s everyone feeling about them?

I’ve still not been feeling any movement but I’m so looking forward to it. Has anyone else not felt anything just yet?

TheBirdintheCave · 21/12/2023 14:55

@LondonGirl1992 Yup! Mine is tomorrow at 1.30 :) I heard baby's heartbeat yesterday at our consultant appointment and it has just booted me really hard so I'm feeling ok at the moment. Hopefully all will be alright anatomy wise!

I hope you get to feel something soon :D

Sa11yCinnamon · 21/12/2023 15:04

@LondonGirl1992 mine is two weeks yesterday, I think I might have felt some very faint movements but I'm really not sure so I can't wait to (hopefully) get that reassurance. And I've decided to find out the sex, eek!

SarahBowie · 21/12/2023 15:37

I’ve got mine on the 29th and if feels like ages away!

Getting lots of movement now which I’m surprised at with having an anterior placenta. She’s moving so much in the evenings it’s almost constant backflips in my tummy and I felt her moving about at lunch time yesterday for the first time too ☺️

Yourowgirl · 21/12/2023 18:37

@Sa11yCinnamon I'm almost exactly the same as you. Same scan date and I've been wondering if the slight movements we've been feeling are baby or not. We aren't going to find out the sex though (if we can). Would really like to feel clear movements and/or get to the scan to be reacquainted with baby again!

Geekygirl13 · 21/12/2023 21:58

Me too, I'm having twins and it's my 3rd pregnancy and I feel occasional flutters, i just want to make sure they are ok, my 20 week scan is next Wednesday. X

Mum2b2024 · 21/12/2023 22:18

@LondonGirl1992 got another cold/cough straight after having one which is annoying but otherwise not too bad. U? I am 18 weeks tomorrow so a few weeks to go until 20 week scan which I am excited and nervous for! I haven't felt any movements yet and this is my first.

junebuglb · 21/12/2023 22:36

@SarahBowie hey snap! 20 week scan on 29th. Not long to wait!

I have been feeling movements on and off but still too early to figure out any pattern I think. Hope everyone is doing well. Have started allowing myself to start making some cute bits for baby girl which feels oh so lovely to do 🥰

Dexnt15 · 21/12/2023 22:59

I have my 20 week scan next Wednesday and am so ready for it! I don’t think I’ve felt much movement yet (1st baby) and it’s starting to weigh on my mind. So to hopefully have the reassurance next week will be great! And right in time for the January sales!

Good luck with it @junebuglb it feels like such a long time away but also no time at all! Can’t wait to see my little girl again 🥰
