@Rose5555 Yes!! This is totally me - am eating everything (although the idea of things like vegetables and salad turn my stomach). And exactly the same as you - if I have even a marginally empty stomach if feel so ill. I’m praying this settles down?? I’m 14 weeks now though 😬 I feel so unhealthy, and am worried about the effects of this later in pregnancy - don’t want to out a huge amount of weight on to then feel awful in the third trimester - and on my general health.

As you can see, no advice… just solidarity ✊

Holdmysunhat · 05/11/2023 09:02

Haha enjoy it @Rose5555. It’s fun perk to being pregnant! I was like this with my last baby and he was a 9.5 pounder. My partner was training for a marathon at the time and I was eating even more than him at mealtimes! I havent had much appetite at all this time round which is really disappointing!

Holdmysunhat · 05/11/2023 09:19

@Due1stmay poor you. Maybe your body/baby just really needs the extra calories and it will all settle down. Have you tried bulking up on the healthy stuff - like lentil stews and peanut butter in wholegrain pitta? Appreciate that this is not useful advice if your body is craving the tasty stuff!

PeppedUp · 05/11/2023 11:42

@TheBirdintheCave thank you! My son was above average size so that makes sense. I also just checked online and found out that dating scans put the average IVF pregnancy three days behind even though they know their dates for sure.

@Rose5555 I have also had insatiable hunger although it’s died down a bit in the last couple of days. I’ve been having two lunches and snacking all day but still the hunger pains don’t go away. My cravings have been much healthier than last time though, which makes me feel a bit better!

Had my scan today and baby was perfect, little dancer wriggling away lol!

@LondonGirl1992 im due on 19th May too 🥰

Ah this is exciting! ❤️ Is this your first?

Also regarding everyone having huge appetites, I’m the total opposite and I’m actually quite worried about it! I’ve had such horrendous nausea and just been totally off the eating- I manage like one bite of meals and have so much food aversions. I’m totally off dairy, meat, fish etc… I’m managing the odd bit of bread and sometimes a couple of bites of a meal. I’ve already lost over a stone and a half and I had hoped by week 12 my appetite would have returned. I’m drinking loads of water but waking up with a cracking headache every day! I’m actually worried if I’m doing damage to the baby so whenever I crave anything, I have it, regardless as to what it is because it’s just so nice to be able to stomach anything! is anyone else going through this?

I’ve also had more cramps today which I’m hoping is normal? They seem to come and go- hopefully that’s normal!

also for the bloods- I had mine on Wednesday and haven’t heard anything yet. My friend mentioned that two of her friends got contacted after bloods by telephone to say they had high risks of conditions- both times it was the next day. I think if there’s a problem, they contact you really quickly. I’m hoping that’s the case because I do feel super anxious waiting! They contact you by letter if all is normal. Fingers are well and truly crossed!

PeppedUp · 05/11/2023 15:53

@LondonGirl1992 I had cramps yesterday too and was a bit worried but according to google it’s normal - something to do with the start of your bump developing. I’ve had them in my lower abdomen.

In terms of bloods, our trust says if you don’t get a call in two to three working days then it’s all clear, so hopefully that’s good news for you. My NT seemed normal so I’m hoping that is a good sign - just got to wait to Thursday to make sure that’s the case.

Does anyone know if your hospital number and your NHS number are the same thing? I'm filling in forms before my 12 week scan tomorrow and they all ask for my hospital number but I can't find that anywhere, all I have is my NHS number?

GratefulMum10 · 05/11/2023 19:18

@newbie12345678 I believe they are different- certainly in my case they were.
Hve you had your booking appointment yet they should have given you a folder that has your hospital number on. If you're not sure just ring up and ask them.

Rose5555 · 05/11/2023 19:26

@newbie12345678 yes, just seconding what @GratefulMum10 says. They’re two different numbers and they should be in your blue folder if you’ve had your booking appt

Sophie721 · 05/11/2023 19:40

Do you know if the weekend counts as days for blood results? I had my 12 week scan on Friday and I don't know if Saturday/Sunday count or if it's just working days?

PeppedUp · 05/11/2023 22:30

@Sophie721 I got told it was working days

miamiamia869 · 06/11/2023 07:56

@newbie12345678 I work I'm a hospital. Hospital number is differant to NHS number. NHS is the same all over hospital number will be differant at each hospital. I wouldn't worry about it they can easily find it through NHS number or D.o.b xx

LondonGirl1992 · 06/11/2023 08:44

I’m on day 2 of having period like stomach cramps and feel so anxious about it! Hoping it’s all normal- it isn’t painful or anything and I slept normally/they eased off. But they’re back again today and I am just praying everything is okay! I did read they are quite common in week 12 but it’s hard to know!

miamiamia869 · 06/11/2023 11:25

Hi all, just a quick one. I am 11 + 4. This morning when I wiped I noticed some brown discharge. Like old blood mixed it. I read that it can be normal. Since when wiping it has been okay but I am a bit worried so sorry for tmi but I inserted a finger and a tinge of pink in the discharge. Should I be worried?. I haven't had anything discharge or bleeding or anything up untill during this pregnancy. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks

Sa11yCinnamon · 06/11/2023 16:11

@miamiamia869 I really wouldn't worry, I've had red spotting and pink/brown discharge on and off from week 6, it seems pretty common x

miamiamia869 · 06/11/2023 17:09

Hiya thanks for your reply. I read loads of positive stories online so don't feel like it I's a cause for concern in every pregnancy. I rang my midwife who got me in with early pregnancy unit this afternoon (I work at the hospital so got seen real quick as could get there quick). Unfortunately the baby was measuring so small with no heart beat (5 weeks) and I'm almost 12 weeks. The the sac was massive which is why my body still thinks its pregnant. It is a missed miscarriage. By law she can't diagnose until a further scan next week but she is pretty certain as it would no way be measuring 5 weeks this far ahead. Thank you for your reply and like I said there are more positive outcomes then negative so I hope this doesn't worry anyone going through similar. Xxx

Sophie721 · 06/11/2023 17:18

I'm so so sorry @miamiamia869 - there's really no words. 💔
